lin yun was born in 10 october 1994 at shanghai, china. she is the only daughter of lin yonghao and wong yanyi. she was born with a silver spoon in . her parents are rich as they are coo and cfo for a famous hotel worldwide. when she was small, she get a lot of love from her parents and friends of her parents, because she's cute and is a good girl. her parents taught her well as they didn't spoil her like other rich parents do to their children. they raised her up with care and love, not with money. therefore, lin yun is not arrogant and boastful like other rich spoiled kids. in fact, her behaviours and personalities are like normal children.
in school, she is a genius, like rap monster. lin yun has an iq of 150 and her best subjects are the sciences, physics, chemistry and biology. although her mathematics is not as good as the other, it is still a high marks. she is not that active in co-curriculum activities because she's not interested in that. at the age of 13, she has the worst year of her life. one day in school, lin yun had the worst abdominal pain ever. her parents took her to the hospital and found out that she has pelvic inflammatory disease. the disease really hit her hard, she felt pain occasionally. but luckily she was cured but she still feel pain occasionally along the year. she fully recovered the next year after she received enough rest.

• best friend and mentor - lee "gray" seonghwa (30) - rapper, singer and producer - gray is the first one who noticed lin yun's talent in producing. well he is considrered to be her father and older brother. during her times in aomg, gray is her mentor and teacher. he teaches her how to produce, how to survive in the hip hop industry and k-pop industry. overall, gray is like lin yun's older brother.
• best friend and mentor - jay park (29) - singer, producer and co-ceo of aomg - since jay park is the ceo of aomg, lin yun behaves in front of him. when he visits her studio, she works seriously, unlike when she's with gray or the other producers. that is why everyone says that only jay park could calm lin yun down. after lin yun becomes a trainee in pledis entertainment, they still keep in contact and jay will always ask how is she doing there, does she get used to it etc.

during her training years in jellyfish entertainment, lin yun mostly focused on dancing as she has no experience in it. when the other trainees are having their break during the weekend, she will go to the practice room and learn how to dance by herself. she knew that she has been lacking a lot in dancing, and you must be good in dancing in order to debut in a girl group. therefore, she worked hard. besides, she still remix and produce songs to upload in youtube and soundcloud, gathering experiences to become a producer. thanks to her creative mind, rapper and record producer gray contacted her after he heard her songs in soundcloud. he proposed his thought of wanting her to be a producer, songwriter and even a singer because of her beautiful voice. lin yun really wanted to go there as she wanted to learn about music producing from jay park. not wanting to lose such potential music producer, jay park even negotiate with the ceo of jellyfish entertainment in order for her to join aomg, which he succeeded. Since then, she becomes a producer, songwriter and singer under aomg, with gray and jay park being her mentor. she released a few singles when she's in the company. with her experience in dancing, she did received many "invitations" from other companies to be their trainee, most notably yg entertainment and jyp entertainment who loves self-producing trainees. in 2016, all of the entertainment companies heard about sol's project on sol48. jay park and simon dominic are thinking whether they would let their only ex-trainee lin yun to represent aomg. lin yun was told about this and she agreed to it since she could experienced being in a group again.

• zion t, a chart gangster, and producer-singer lin yun are dating - august 2015 - in an episode in infinity challenge where haha, zion t and lin yun (zion t invited her to feature in their song, $ponsor, singing high notes) are recording in the studio. after they finished, haha decided to treat them samgyeobsal. when they were cooking the meat, zion t took great care of lin yun. he cooked the meat for her, cut the meat for her, asked her if she wants to eat anything and he'll cook for her etc. haha was shocked at his warm side towards her and said that they are dating and he is the third wheel. lin yun quickly denied. while he said that lin yun is a baby and therefore needs care from an oppa which is he himself.
• producer-singer lin yun dissed by cosmic girls' exy for being a lame producer - october 2015 - cosmic girls' exy dissed lin yun in unpretty rapstar saying that she is a lame producer and her songs are all produced by gray. besides, she told her to just be a pretty idol (visual idol). most of the fans do not support exy's diss because gray made a statement in instagram (he posted a picture with lin yun) saying that all lin yun's songs are original and purely her ideas, he is just there to guide her.
