ELABORATION —

• 'ian was never the one who would participate in team competition.' sure yian isn't a fussy person in general. but whenever he's in his zone which usually in his practice, it's pretty hard to meet his expectation. when he decided for A, A it'll be till the end. but the only good thing in this is that he's only hard on himself. the fact that he ony depend on himself had actually save his teammates for once. it's not the win that he always seek in every competition. but what he seeks is that the feels of achieving something by himself; his effort solely. he rather be down by himself than letting down the whole team. thus that's eplained a lot on why he prefer single race/work in general. 'he always leave the decision for other to make.' when it comes into voicing his own decision for other, yian never actually like to partake in such situation. he openly dislike the feeling of being pressure into choosing things. if he really knows what he likes, he'll say it. but when you ask it to think on the spot, he will back out from it. if you want an answer from him, you need to ask him a few hours before, for him to think about the consequences of his decisions. he rather has his friends call him a chicken or loser than having him made a decision that he'll be dissapoint in.

• 'a jock shouldn't notice those off-beat.' yian believes in equality greatly. he believes that everyone should be treated the same regardless their status or reputation. though he might not state it openly, you can see how he never spoke ill about other people. or the fact that he never really turn down anyone who attempt to hold a small conversation with him. sure he isn't that friendly or talkative. but he appreciated the effort that the other did just to talk to him first. 'he might not be in, but he'll be there for emotional support.'  in most situation, yian rarely lose his cool. he has this cool demanour that make he look like he had everything laid perfectly under his belt. even though we know it's half lies. this side of him appeal strongly whenever his friends are in need of moral support. mostly happened during competition. as someone who doesn't involve in team race, yian usually will stay at the match till the end as he just sit there and claps here and there for support; regardless the result or whether they notice or not his presence amongst other people.

 

         

BACKGROUND + CURRENT EVENTS —

• yian lives in a household that consist of 4 family members including himself. they had a stable income despite the fact that his father had quit his work as a nurse to be a full-time house-husband. their main income came from his mother's occupation as fashion designer from quite a big brand and some from his father's safe.

as yian grew up, he had learned that his mother had always preferred daughter over son. unlike his sister, who was taken care personally by her mother till she aged 1 year old. yian was taken care by his father right after his mother's postnatal period ended. growing up, yian never actually felt the need to satisfy himself other than his mother. he had never been good in making choice of his own as what he had been done has always been something related to his mother directly or indirectly. the fact that he couldn't built the interest in fashion unlike his sister, yian couldn't connect well with his own mother. despite his father's words of saying to do thing you like, yian couldn't do that. so the moment when 7 years old yian learned that his mother like swimming other than doing fashion. yian had himself learning to about how to like the water that had been his enemy since age 4. he actually forced himself to love swimming and attended the 4 hours long class at swimming pool with his father tagging along with him. at the age of 8 years old , yian actually managed to somehow got himself qualify enough to join the swimming team in his middle school. and that was probably the first time he witnessed a small smile in his mother's face that actually directed for him without his sister's presence around him. but he aging through the years, yian had gained 3 things from life. first, his mother's attention won't ever be on him without his sister in presence; second, he had unintentionally found comfort in swimming and fall in love with it and third, he learned that his father was his mother in disguised, a nosy one too while at it.

• yian had grew up into a quite decent young man. heck he's even one of the star swimmer for his school. he had earned a few medal and certificates for himself. yet none of that had really managed to make him stand as the same level as his sister as she's now working under their mother's wing as a fashion designer too. but the thought of earning his mother's full attention had been long forgotten as he knows his effort will mostly be fruitless. yian swims for his own achievement and he's pretty much set to join the national swimming if he manages to push himself more. and if not, well he hadn't imagine himself to be something else yet other than a swimmer actually we'll see is the safest bet he could say.

residing in hayang high for almost 3 years, yian had unintentionally earned himself the title as the pretty boy jock. he's still the indecisive guy that existed during his childhood except that now he started to slowly do thing that revolve around him. not just for his mother's satisfactory. he had people around him but still keeping his doofus best friend, jisoo. and as he's approaching the final year in high school, yian vows to really do thing for himself. he had promised both his father and jisoo that he going to really do something else that doesn't just involve swimming.
