the sound of voices shouting starts the video, two energetic young man flies from left to right. '' run!'' another voice emerges from the kitchen, ''there's women in here! don't you dare!'' eugene shakes her head slowly, the screen shows the moving floor. ''seokjin, what are you making?'' a screech noise of chair being scrap against the floor can be hear, but the camera still points toward the floor. ''marinating the beef for tonight barbeque.'' eugene hums, she waits for a while as seokjin sets his beef in the fridge. ''do you need something honey?'' there's the usual gentle tone he oftens uses. ''i am making a documentary. i just need you to answer two or three questions.'' there's a slight pause and the camera slowly move, a seokjin with a white apron on appears. ''do you still remember how we meet?'' seokjin takes a piece of watermelon he had chopped earlier, ''with or without brooke?'' he pops one into his mouth. ''without.'' he nods thoughtfully, recollecting his memories as he swallows the fruit. ''when i met eugene, i thought she was from the photography club. it was around the time where the club take the students's picture for the year book. so i was waiting for my friends to meet up at the flowerbed in front the main building-'' eugene interupts. ''but kim seokjin chose to stand right in the middle of the flowerbed instead of under the tree's shade like any other normal student.'' seokjin huffs, ''it's not my fault that i just want to be with my kind.'' ''the flower?'' ''anyways, i saw this one girl with a big camera, those expensive camera walked by. she was aiming the lense toward my direction, plus she was standing not that far from me. so i thought 'oh, she must be taking my picture. time to shine seokjin.' and i kindly posed for her. in every charming way i can. but after that, she just walked away. no thanks, no smile, no nothing. talk about manner, i didn't raise her to have no manner.'' eugene was about to say something about that, but she keeps her lips seal. ''during the next semester, when brooke got enrolled; i met again with eugene.'' he points at eugene. ''and he said i was rude for taking off without a word after taking a picture of him. he then started reenacted the situation again for me to remember. and when i remembered it.'' seokjin crosses his arms against his chest, ''she told me that she actually taking the photo of the scenery behind me. there was a beautiful sunset and she just couldn't help herself. it was an embarassing mistake of mine for keeping a grudge on her for weeks.'' eugene shakes her head, a smile paints across her face, ''second question. what am i to you?'' he leans back on the chair. it really didn't take a while for seokjin to answer that because it is an obvious answer to him. ''the one that i don't have to worry about. like namjoon and hoseok, i don't have to worry about her having a broken arm or leg. or getting kick out from a club. even drunk eugene is one of the most docile amongst us. the only worry i got for her is that she really let the younger stamp all over her.'' eugene lets out a soft scoff, she mutters a low 'it's their affection.' under her breath. ''aside from that, it is easy for me to talk to her and she listens well. she helps me a lot with handling these bunch of idiots. and i hope you know how thankful i am to meet you, eugene.'' he decides to end it with a warm note. her face immediately lit up like a light bulb. she always likes seokjin the most amongst the brahood. he somehow reminds her of her father, always caring toward other. ''thank you and i love you seokjin.'' it isn't weird for eugene to say that to him. it didn't feel romantic, only feel like a family. ''do you know where's yoongi?'' he stands up with the plate of fruit in his hand, ''try check the master bed room.'' she hums happily, pushing back the chair after she stand up, ''thanks jinnie.''
 

eugene swiftly avoids the wild 'twin' in the middle of the house, playing xbox. she made her ways to the said room, opening it cautiously. the camera is still rolling and it is focus on the floor again. the first thing she notices is yoongi hunches over the table. she slowly makes her way toward the older, ''yoongi?'' she pokes the older on the back, ''are you asleep?'' she knows he likes to sleep but sometime he just like staying motionlessly without doing nothing, but thinking. ''yoongi?'' the sudden voice from yoongi startles her, ''you aren't blind right?'' that had slightly upset the younger one, ''i am sorry. i'll leave you alone. i'm sorry.'' it isn't eugene's intention that her voice sound sad. the pout starts making it ways to her face. she walks back to the door but comes to halt when yoongi speaks up, ''i'm already awake. what do you want?'' yoongi doesn't need to look to know how much her face had brighten up. ''can i ask a few questions?'' he straightens his limb and waits for the younger to sit, ''do you remember how we meet?'' yoongi rest his head on his palm, ''yeah. brooke brought you to one of my performance at the club. they mistook you as paparazzi and refused to let you in. 10 minutes before my performance, brooke called me to help you two in. you're lucky that the bouncer is my friend.'' eugene looks down in guilty, even in that she manages to have a stable focus of her camera on yoongi. ''i am sorry. i was just excited to catch the excitement of your performance in my camera. i'm sorry.'' yoongi waves his hand dismissively, motioning the girl to continue her question so he can get done with it quickly. ''what do you think of me?'' unlike seokjin, yoongi takes a pause to think, ''hoverfly. you look very chic, but you're very harmless. you keeps on poking your nose in everywhere, even after we say no, you'll try to come back. we get that you want to help kid, but sometimes you gotta learn how to ignore it and move on. not everyone are like us, your pity face works on us mostly. but outsider won't give a about it when they're emotional. you'll get hurt. that would be for you and for us.'' eugene knows it's true, she understand it but at the same time she couldn't bring herself to accept that fact entirely. it's upsetting when someone refuse her help. ''i'm saying this for your own good kiddo. now go at namjoon. i heard he's skyping with hoseok right now.'' she nods glumly. a soft 'thank you' didn't being forgotten for her to say before she closes the door.
 

eugene doesn't need to ask anyone to know where is her same-aged friend would often be around the house. her feet pads along the floor, leading her to the balcony. she earns a strange look from the twin as she passes them. neither of them say anything only looking at their dearest friend in puzzle. the camera has been paused right after she got out from the bed room. eugene needs a few breathes to calm down. and she knows exactly the person that can help her. the sunshine in their 94-line, the guy that's sitting on the other side of the net. ''eugene is behind you.'' she hears hoseok said. eugene takes the liberty to claim the seat next to namjoon in silent. ''what's wrong?'' namjoon asks. eugene never hides anything with her same-aged friends. they might didn't act as close as how taehyung and jimin acts, but the tightness of their friendship doesn't have much different with the 95-line. eugene plays to them the end of recording for yoongi's part. both of them listen intently to it. ''knowing that someone doesn't want to accept my help makes me upset.'' she admits to the two guys, they didn't miss the pout on her face either. it was awkward silent at first before hoseok burst into laugh. namjoon smiles at how genuinely upset his friend looks over the small matter. ''you know the two monkeys inside need your help a lot. so does us!'' hoseok exclaims cheekily. ''he means to say that you shouldn't worry about the future yet. yoongi just trying to prepare you for the worst. but we all know that most people will be thankful for your help eugene. especially those monkeys inside.'' he points at taehyung and jimin who have their face planted against the glass slide door, probably trying to hear what's going on. the identical faces of both of them had the three friends burst into laugh. upon seeing the change in mood of eugene, taehyung and jimin proudly bump their chests for cheering the older up. they then continue doing their stuff, leaving the three friends alone. eugene had to take a deep breathe to calm herself down. the two guys are thankful that their friend finally smile. ''so what's the camera for?'' namjoon asks. eugene holds it up and press the record button, she scoots away from the two, making sure both of them look good even if hoseok appearing in a laptop. ''i'm going to ask you about our first meeting. do you still remember it?'' both of them nods. ''hoseok first, since i'm doing this in age order.'' the video pan in to hoseok's face inside the laptop. ''I remembered that you met me through skype. just like this, except that brooke was there with us not namjoon. brooke said that you've met everyone except me. i was supposed to meet you face to face on the day i supposed to visit you guys. but i couldn't come because i had a flu on that day. you was really worried when you saw me on the screen. despite that you didn't know me. i can see that you was genuinely worried about me. more than those people in there - minus seokjin - maybe. we couldn't talk too long because i was drowsy. the side affect from the medicine. It was a bump, since I heard especially from brooke that you're a cool friend. i want to get to know you more.'' ''flu is .'' namjoon butts in. ''but you guys are friends now. that's what it only count.'' both; hoseok and Eugene nod their head simultaneously. ''next question; what do you think of me?'' hoseok taps his chin, ''what do i think of you?'' he tries to think of an answer that won't upset the girl in any way. ''you're a really good friend. it was easy to talk to you. plus the fact that you always curious about my adventure always had me hype up to tell you about all the interesting stuff i came across with. but unlike the other, i wish you can join me adventure. we never went backpacking together. aside from the group trips we have, you seems to never want to travel with anyone else. but then again, i won't stop asking you until you agree. i had brought almost everyone except you to be honest.'' the camera slowly pans out. ''you know how i feel about travelling.'' every brahood know about eugene's family. thought she seems fine with it, they tried to be careful while talking about it too.
 

''so it's my turn right?'' namjoon quickly change the mood. the camera pans in to namjoon. ''the same question right?'' eugene nods eagerly. she always anticipating in what namjoon had to say. it's mostly interesting. ''we met at the photography club's exhibition. it's cliche but that's how it is. now don't cringe your face hoseok.'' eugene chuckles at hoseok's reaction. ''our first conversation were about the theme they chose. about using a bunch of y, half girls as subject to attract other students. you wonders why the upper hand didn't ban them right away. and i told you that?'' ''they collected money by selling the pass to get in.'' eugene continues. ''then we went through from one picture to another, criticizing and shared our opinions with each other about it.'' ''like a first date?'' hoseok interferes. eugene shakes her head gently. ''like two art critiques determining how many stars they would give to the exhibition.'' hoseok hums, the sounds of his phone ringing suddenly comes off. he disappears from the screen to take the phone call, leaving namjoon and Eugene to continue their conversation. ''we just clicked off well, that after that you and i started being friend. we often met during arts exhibitions and around the campus. I remember that whenever we met in parties you would ignore me.'' namjoon holds up his hand, ''that was because i don't want you to meet my friends. their silliness rubs off to other people, so i don't want you get involve with them. it was hard to find a korean that can actually hold up same interest yet casual conversation with me.'' namjoon isn't being racist. but sometimes he just want to have a normal, casual friend that's from the same race, same originated country as him. ''I met brooke afterward.'' namjoon runs his fingers through his hair. ''you had no idea how hard i pray to lord that you won't change. thank goodness you didn't change.'' she switches the camera into her left hand, resulting a slight shake to the video. ''anyways, what do you think of me?'' when hoseok was questioned, namjoon had thought of his answer beforehand. ''the grip of normality that i need off? it's pretty easy to strike a normal conversation with you as we share the same interest in arts; photography specifically. of course we don't just talk about photography. but we talk a lot, express about stuff a lot. might not seems like a best friend because we don't cling to each other like glue. but you're my best friend. not just because of the age. but because how comfy we get with each other. and also you're one of the few that actually okay with my lame story. so that's a plus my friend.'' eugene pans out the camera, just in time when hoseok comes back. ''you guys are my best friend too.'' she earnestly admits. ''time's up! it's our turn to be in the video now!''
 

eugene doesn't even get a chance to say her thank before she get drag by the 95 duo. the video shakes horribly, a loud huff can be hear followed by the sight of jimin and taehyung appear in the video. ''so i met eugene at-'' taehyung holds his hand up, ''who said that you get to answer first?'' jimin points to himself, ''i'm the alpha in this relationship.'' taehyung's breath hitches, ''why i can't be the alpha? i'm taller than you.'' eugene backs away a bit to make sure the whole view fit. ''i have more muscles than you!'' jimin barks. a sigh can be hear from eugene, ''guys, i haven't even ask you yet. please calm down.'' her soft voice is buries by the duo. ''shut up, both of you!'' seokjin shouts from the kitchen. that has successfully manages to get them calm. ''jimin, go to the mart and buy these stuffs for me. go or no barbeque for you tonight.'' jimin complies unwillingly. he makes eugene promises him to interview right away after he's back before he went out on his way. ''now, my turn!'' taehyung grins cheekily. the video pans in, showing the upper half of him only. ''i met eugene in my second frat party.'' ''not in the first?'' taehyung scratch his nose, ''i was too excited for it and got myself drunk 15 minutes after I got there.'' eugene nods and signals taehyung to continue. ''when i first met eugene, she was horribly frustrated with me. as you know, eugene was alpha phi's official photographer. that was an agreement she had to agree because she wanted to drop from the sorority half year in it. my friends told me that it would be fun to mess around with her. they said that you're too lame in a fun party. so they told me to get you loose a bit. since you were soo into your photographer's work, I decided to jump into every single shot you take. like photo bomb, except that i 'accidentally' block it right in front of your lens. you could say that after a while, eugene was getting frustrated and maybe she was trying not to be rude to me but I actually heard her muttered the word er under her breathe when she moved on to other person.'' eugene hums in agreement, ''and you did that for the other four parties before you finally stop it.'' taehyung points accusingly to eugene, ''you didn't respond the way i want you to. so i got tired and gave up.'' eugene smiles softly, she mouths an apology to the sulky taehyung. ''what do you think of me, taetae?'' taehyung can never sulk long enough with eugene. he his lips before answering. ''the other said that i am really troublesome. a very high maintenance guy. and eugene is really patient in handling me. but you know that's they way i show my love for you right?''he looks expectantly. when he hears the words 'i know', he brightly continue his speech. ''eugene is really nice. you never really complain about things. and you always help me and jimin with our videos. i know that i might not be the most competent one within us, but i want you to know that you can say no to us and that you can always depend on us too. i might act like an idiot but i can be mature too when it's needed. okay?'' taehyung waits for eugene's answer patiently. ''okay.''
 

as if on cue, taehyung's phone rings. he pulls out the phone, ''it's jungkook.'' he places the phone on the table, answers it and put the speaker on. ''can you please tell the others that we might arrive a bit late? it seems that brooke is having her period. she keeps on going back and forth to the toilet.'' a faint voice of shouting can be hear from the background. eugene stays focus on taehyung as it's more entertaining to record the younger's reaction. ''jungkook, it's eugene. do you mind if i ask you a few questions though? to keep you company for a while.'' it didn't takes a few seconds for him to answer 'yes'. ''it's about how we meet and what i think about you right? jimin keeps blowing up my phone about it. whining that he wants to answer that rather than going to the mart.'' taehyung's face turns into a smug one, ''serve him right for trying to downgrade me into an underling.'' the sound of the glass door being open can be hear. a glimpse of namjoon's lower body can be seen pass by. ''you met me in that day when brooke brought you to us. since i was still a freshman. i don't get to go around a lot.'' taehyung's face lit up as he seems to remember something. ''that time when you tried to throw jimin and i away?'' jungkook immediately answer to that, ''you guys won't stop bothering me that i had to throw you out of my room. i couldn't even got anything done.'' the camera shakes slightly a eugene laughs, ''i was quite taken aback by that. half because of the inappropriate meeting with two butts and a face. another half because you were like a hulk. minus the green skin and inability of having a sober mind.'' a familiar voice can be hear from the other line. jungkook takes a moment before answering the phone again. ''it was all from the gym.'' taehyung whispers words in korean which mean 'muscle pig' to eugene. she stifles a laugh as jungkook about to start answering the another question. ''i think you and seokjin makes a good combo. he's like the nurse and you're like the doctor. he nags but still take care of us, while you, you just take care of us with very few advise. and I personally think, compare to jimin and taehyung, it seems that you think that i am more reliable than them. now that i think about it you don't fuss much with me which to me, mean that you trust that i can take good care of myself. despite my age. i am like a year younger though.'' taehyung barks, ''no! eugene just loves us more than you! that's why!'' jungkook lets out a laugh, ''i assuming that you want to ask brooke now. so i'm passing this phone to her as she's out from the toilet already now.''
 

a shuffle of noise can be hear before brooke talks, ''it was not because i'm on my period. It was just a normal stomachache.'' eugene moves closer to taehyung, to talk to brooke. ''don't you need to go check with the doctor first? try put ointment first. i just filled up your emergency kit before. check it. if it isn't work ask jungkook to get you a chamomile tea. if all of it aren't working, go to the doctor immediately.'' taehyung motions eugene to calm down. ''i'm much better now eugene. no worries. so if i remember correctly. i think i officially met you during the rush week? the last day of it, when they're having the bid ceremony. i've seen you around when they opened the alpha phi's door for recruitment. but i can't call out to you since you seems busy with your camera. even during the rush week. i honestly thought you was a distant person because all you do were just taking pictures.'' eugene interrupts, ''the house director told me to get a lot of shots of you guys. and the phi chis asked me to get a lot of shot of them too. i was the only there, so it was pretty hectic.'' probably because taehyung senses that eugene's arms feels tired, he takes the camcorder out of her hand. finally the person behind the camera appears in the video. the red on her ears becomes noticeable when she realizes the camera focus solely on her. ''don't they pay you or something?'' eugene shakes her head gently, ''no bucks for that. but i don't really mind. aside from the parties that seems to have no end. i got a pretty memorable shot. remember that sehun guy you told us before?'' brooke groans. it seems like she put the phone on speaker too as jungkook's laugh can be hear from the other side along with taehyung behind the camera. ''i still have that picture. it was finally nice to put the back story behind the panic expression of your face with sehun calling out to you from behind.'' brooke yells to jungkook and probably taehyung too, to shut their mouth. ''next topic! okay, my thought on you.'' eugene decides to just follow the younger girl's flow. ''you're like a pit stop in a race to me. like i can take a break from the doofus beside you and at the same time you'll take care of me. like a mix of seokjin minus his nags and namjoon minus his overly inspirational talk. now if only you would actually dance in the club instead of just sitting there drinking and staring or recording, it would be much fun. let loose.'' eugene protests, ''i did get drunk. that's already loose.'' a snort can be hear from brooke, even taehyung almost laugh at how ridiculously lame eugene can get sometime. ''anyways i think most of the time, we acts like a real good friend.  and sometimes you really treat me like your younger sister.'' the video pans in, closely to eugene's face without her noticing it, ''i treat you as how you would act. it's an impulse. anyways, i'm going to hang up now. it seems that jimin's here. and taehyung keeps pointing to his stomach. i assuming that he wants you and jungkook come here sooner since he probably can't wait for the barbeque to start.'' taehyung gives a thumb up to eugene. ''we're on our way.'' eugene's finger taps the end button after she told the youngest pair to be careful on their way there. she then takes the camera again just in time as jimin walks in the front door, ''my turn!'' he howls loudly, ignoring other people complain about the noise.
 

upon knowing that he was expecting a child, minha had to drop out from his college. getting married to eugene's mother wasn't an option to him anymore. he had taken the woman back to his parent's house, putting her under his mother's care as the elder was more experienced in pregnancy while he went to work under his father in a furniture factory. he might hadn't plan how his life going to be, but having a big responsibility suddenly dump onto him because of his careless act, minha had to somehow became a man and taken a short cut into the mature process. he didn't resent his wife neither his child, but only himself for taking away his wife's dream. it wasn't subtle that his wife wasn't exactly happy with the fact that she had to be pregnant at the age of 20. minha had promised himself to devote his everything for the two well-being. and he had been doing well in three years of the marriage. but unfortunately not every marriage last long. it came to halt for the young father. it would take away his sanity and hope but thanks to his parent, they promised to take care of little eugene while he continued his study. to give the child a better future, minha unwillingly packed his stuff and continued the third year of his study.
it wasn't a secret that minha is eugene's everything. he taught his daughter well and it really reflect on her personality. the fact that they mostly act the same and hold a greatly love for each other tell a lot of how the father and daughter's relationship. it might not be believable, but that kind of bond between father and daughter do exist. he's her father, mother, brother and best friend without a doubt. as indepent as eugene can be, her father would be the only person that she won't mind clinging casually with.
