To Be Honest...
i'm not gonna point to people about this or anything okay. so read this on your own, and please, i'm not judging anyone.
you know how alot of older kpop groups made a comeback and some who was about to? for me it's great, because i've been missing them for so long, and i've been keeping up to date about their personal schedules literally almost everyday. and i was so excited for them to do a comeback after months of listening to their same songs that i practically could sing or point the title of their song without me having to listen to the whole song.
trust me, i do have a life than just fangirling all the time, it's just that music is something that i could never put down everyday, like books or games etc.
but then i see alot of people reacting to kpop videos on youtube, i was expecting to see the group that i liked appeared as their chosen ones, but then, strangely, it was not them. it was more to the newer generations groups, or even the famous ones. i don't want to point the names, you get the idea already. partly i was happy that the well-known ones are more well-known due to people reacting to them, but at the same time, i was also dissapointed, because these people that are reacting to kpop videos are mostly people who are new to the fandoms. if you're reacting to the new groups and tell people that all of them sounded the same, then you might need to do a little bit of research.
on what? old kpop generations, their music and such stuff.
then hopefully you can tell if it's still the same or not. (i hope it's not though. it's different.) if you want to compare the music and the videos, better watch from the old ones to the new ones. i know probably some of the newer fans wouldn't dig into the old kpop generation's music, but they have their own distinct feeling into it, and that goes to the new kpop generation's music too. but listening to them and then stanning saying they are legends and what is not without even knowing about the rest of the groups in kpop, that is kinda rude tbh.
i'm a multifandom fan, and i've been into kpop since Shinhwa, DBSK, Super Junior, Beast, Big Bang, SHINee, Infinite, CNBLUE era etc. but i didn't mind much about them until last year, i decided to surrender myself to the world of Kpop because well, it just happened okay? and i got hooked because of the old generations kpop group too, not the new ones. so i'm in between new fan and old one, because i acknowledged their existence.
and when people asking me who i stan, i would say alot of groups, not just one. because i know i can't choose. and most groups that i chose was the old ones, and people would go like "oh, that group." and so on. no interest. they fangirled on the new ones, i respect that. but to just judge this group is the best and other , you'll get a world war 3. i don't want that. every group is talented in their own way, not just one group. i get it, your oppas/hyungs is daebak, but let's give a big applause and credits to the old generation groups. without them, the new ones wouldn't make it through today just like that. if you know how bad it was for old groups to debut and make it big before, you'll appreciate them more.
don't neglect the old, pure legendary kpop groups, listen to their songs and give them a chance, you may not know what might sparked your interest later on. i'm listening to newer groups' songs too, and i like some of them, so it's not like i'm being totally bias out of a sudden. it's up to you to decide. kpop world is big, you might not know all, and it would never be enough. this is my honest opinion on things, you're going to be mad at it, then be it. but i'm speaking from all sides, and it was about to get off from my chest anyways.
thanks for reading this!
