Gazing upwards , his eyes found the moon through the tiny cracks in between the trees . He had been too distracted to notice how far he had walked or where exactly he was . Though somewhere in his unconscious mind , he faintly noticed the drastic change in the clearing that was once bathed in sunlight , radiating warmth and beauty , now gave off a dark vibe . The sun that gracefully brightened the glade was now replaced by the beautiful albeit beguiling moon , the vibrant green has now turned into a dull grim shade of navy and juniper . The bright and azure sky has changed into a blanket colored in the darkest shade of blue almost bordering on black  . Even the stars shone like a fragile soul watching down as if pitying him . The once clear and shimmering pond has become a gloomy depth promising harm ,  death even ,  to innocent wanderers  - once they get stuck in it , there was no way out - . The trees that once framed the entire place like a green citadel now looked so tall , big and intimidating it filled him with dread . The darkness in between them painted a picture of ghosts floating in the fog as the sound of different animals echoed about , skittering rats , whispering owls and wolves howling instead of birds chirping cheerfully .
