PERSONALITY:

SCREAMS ANNYEONG HASEYO, probably the most often thing you would ever hear from his loud mouth as he begins a new chapter in his life. Inshik is a walking charm, always smiling and grinning until his cheeks were numb. A living sunshine you can never deny. Trust me, this is how everyone sees him. Full of happiness. It's like he's has no experience living in hell. Now, where do I start about him?

He is such a cutie, literally. His sweet charming voice would swoon everyone over. His laughter brings peace to the world. The way he talks are something people could understand and communicate with, even towards the older ones. He brings the good as he opens up his circle to make them feel comfortable around him. He's just really good at dealing with people. Most of the time, it was thanks to his sense of humour. A sensible gagman, he is very clever when it comes to making jokes, imitations and puns. Inshik is very good at finding passion to start something, which is why he was seen almost too happy even towards the slightest things. He has a pretty unique way to start a conversation. Not knowing personal space, he would simply jump on them for a piggyback ride and ask something like "Have you eaten?" or "Did you sleep well?" in the cutest way possible. He prefers positivity, so if you answered no, he'd probably rushed to the kitchen to cook or shove you in bed and sang you a lullaby. Despite his young age, he acts like those typical older sister who cares a lot for her younger siblings. You really can't tell if he's younger when his caring side appeared. If anything, he'd rather put others first than himself. That way he didn't want anyone to get left out. If anyone is troubled, he'll do whatever he can to help them. That is all except the ones who dislike him, he'll left them out until they ask for forgiveness and help.

Inshik has his way of his own when he wants to achieve something. He knows his own ability and weakness, and uses them wisely. Like I said, he is very good at finding passion. He thinks out of the box and crafts out the fun in the boring. If he didn't know or confused to do this, he quickly finds a way by connecting his brain cells. For example, dancing. He'll do anything to try his best fixing his odd movement and would never stop doing the same thing all over again. If he really couldn't master the steps, he'll ask around for guidance. He has no fear if someone points out his mistakes, prior to his experience of getting scolded frequently when he was a trainee. Inshik has a strong and composed heart, but deep down, he keeps it to himself and hid around somewhere no one can find him, and cry his heart out. If he ever got caught crying, just to let you know, he needs someone to hug him, a pat on the back and tell him everything will be okay.

Now you know he is filled with flowers, glitters and sparkles around him. A warning! You, don't even get close to him when he's pissed. You can quickly tell when his cold aura started to freeze the area. He won't talk to anyone, he'll isolate himself until he gets his mood back. If it gets worst, he'll easily snapped. This side of Inshik is rarely seen, but if someone made a fuss and annoyed him to the max, here you have him spitting fire. He's merciless when it comes to being a little savage, doesn't matter if they're old or young. He'll dig in every single piece of infomation about you before he shoots. You'll die in vain.

His relationship with his parents are strained. He doesn't like them, nor he dislikes them. He's a bit sad when his parents never support his career, but he is thankful that his uncle, teacher and Yugyeom got him up. They were the source of his true happiness.

BACKGROUND:

Born as a sweetest sunshine loved by many. The only son in the family, Inshik came from an average family. They're not rich, but also not poor. His father works as a bank officer and his mother opens a bakery shop. While his parents were busy working, baby Inshik was taken care of his uncle. He was spoiled a lot by him. His uncle, Jegal Woong who holds so much love for his nephew, even bottled up his piggy bank to buy him something. Inshik was introduced in music by Wong, a street musician who is skilled in musical instruments, mainly vocal, guitar and piano. Every weekends, Inshik would visit his uncle and learned about music notes, singing and playing both guitar and piano.

Since then, Inshik often followed Woong when he began his busking in Hongdae. The boy would also start a duet when he felt like doing it. Everyone who attended their busking loved their performance, and some would praise Inshik as a prodigy. Seeing his nephew in a new light, Woong let him sing along together. When his parents found out about how Inshik regularly followed his uncle, they decided to put a stop and wanted their son to focus on his study instead. His parents thought that music and entertainment were a waste of time. Due to this, his parents and Woong had a fight about his future. Inshik was forcefully told to cut ties with his uncle. Woong's last words were, "I'll be right behind you, keep running to the light." They were no longer in touch.

At school, he would quietly attended classes and clubs relating to arts although his parents oppose. He kept to his uncle's words, but he was hesitant to open up his true desire. One of his teachers, Seo Kyunghwan, who caught an eye on him, wanted him to show himself instead of hiding. Kyunghwan had a slow talk with the discouraged boy, and promised him that he'll be a real singer. The teacher gave him a private lesson, helping him with his singing tone and the instruments he was able to play. Thanks to Kyunghwan, Inshik was very active in participating any arts and musical performance in school.

Age 14 was a table turn. He was scouted by JYP Entertainment. He was given a week to answer whether he wished to join them or not. When he informed about this to Kyunghwan, he was the happiest most proud teacher ever. He adviced Inshik to give it a shot, but they needed a permission with his parents. His parents, who eventually got this information, allowed Inshik to go. They were devastated that Inshik chose a different path, and pointed out it was an unrealistic dream. Kyunghwan insisted that he'll take care of Inshik after seeing how troubled a young boy became caused by his parents. Without any second thought, they simply let their son go.

Inshik had a long time recovering from his parents after joining JYP. He has conflicts with some teachers regarding about how he was unable to control his moody self, his vocals were off and he had a hard time catching up dances. He was stressed throughout the year, but it slowly changed thanks to Kim Yugyeom. Inshik was finally himself thanks a lot to him. They befriended each other as they got on in the company together, and they were in luck when they were on the same age. They acted out like siblings, cared for one another and often share problems. Yugyeom loved to call him "noona" because Inshik nagged a lot at him. Being with each other became a benefit to them. Inshik would help him with vocal, and Yugyeom would help him with dancing. They also attended in the same high school, Hanlim Arts High School.

Their friendship was unbreakable, until Yugyeom was chosen to compete in Who Is Next, and later to debut in GOT7. They couldn't be together forever. He was very proud of Yugyeom and promised to cheer in every of GOT7's activities. Yugyeom exchanged the same promise as well.

The interviewer could only laugh at his cuteness;

 

⟪ How did you find out about Do or Die? ⟫ 

"Ah," he stopped for a moment before continuing, "It was my teacher who found about Do or Die. I was scared at first, but he told me that I could do it. After collecting infomations about it, I really wanted to step up and take the challenge."

⟪ Why do you want to be an idol? Are you prepared for everything it entails? ⟫ 

"I really love singing, and instead of singing freely, I wanted to show my ability. I want everyone to hear my voice and hopefully, it'll release their stress. I want to go up the stage, and see a smile on their faces."
Inshik tried to stifle his laugh, thinking that his words sound so cheesy. He ended up laughing briefly and beamed, "I've train myself for this. I've prepared a lot. Wait for me~"

⟪ Do you have any prior experience in the entertainment industry? ⟫ 

"I was once a JYP trainee and have been trained in there when I was 13," he stated, "I was supposed to debut with GOT7, but didn't get pick in the final lineup." He chuckled and looked down before he spoke, "I was quite disappointed about it, but it's okay. I once made a cameo in Dream High (drama) and GOT7's music video, Girls Girls Girls. After leaving JYP, I focus on my studies and did some busking in the streets of Hongdae."
"Wah, you're so cool," the interviewer praised, quite surprised that Inshik maintained cool and composed.
"I am," he said without hesitation and they both laughed.

⟪ Where do you feel you're strong, and where do you feel you're lacking? ⟫ 

Inshik clearly didn't know how to answer this.
"Why is this question so hard?" he asked, but decided to answer despite having difficulties on the words, "The only thing I'm confident of is singing. My voice is the strongest point in me." He pondered for a moment and his face immediately turned red, "Ah, dancing. I have trouble in dancing. Naturally, I'm able to follow the steps, but it's hard for me. I'm not really a good dancer. It took so much practice for me to dance better."

⟪ Why should we choose you for Do or Die? ⟫ 

"You're gonna lose a light," he joked, "Do or Die is the greatest opportunity I've ever had. It'll be the most amazing rollercoaster ride I've ever got on."
