she was born in incheon to a kind mom and a dad in a nice house, financially strained but doing emotionally well. she loved singing since she was tiny and went through school with good grades. When she was 9 she got a baby brother that she's very protective of, and EVEN IF HE CAN BE ANNOYING AND LAZY SHE LOVES HIM. in highschool she had a hard time with studying but did well, and knew everyone but had no good friends which was HARD (although she got to know her math teacher very well and they became best friends). she auditioned for woolim and yg when she was 15, and got into both, ultimately choosing yg. she got in due to her charisma, singing, and ability for writing songs that she demonstated  at the audition (espeically writing smart clever lyrics).
