"Can't I just relax?"

PERSONALITY TRAITS —

ELABORATION —

• Where to begin with Taewon? Maybe start with the good traits because he claims he has so many? Jokes aside Taewon can be prideful in his abilities which has lead him to get into some interesting situations. His pride is not just limited to his ablities. It expands to his family even if they are far from great. His pride can lead to him being reckless if those said things are challenged. However he is not always goaded so easy. After all the only real opinion he cares about is his own. Unless of course you challenge his family pride. That is his easy trigger. Mainly speaking bad of his mother. 

It doesn't help he is naturally quick-tempered something his mother claims is attributed to his father. He is quick to anger if insulted. However he doesn't go overboard. At least at the first insult anyway. He will be quick to ask if they want to fight if they continue to annoy him. He will completely skip over even asking if someone even brings up his mother. He will just swing. Also because  he is so quick tempered he is quick to get frustrated if he isn't able to understand something or solve a problem easily. Which he claims is more than he'd care to admit.
 
Another main thing that has only manifested in recent years is his laziness. Maybe it's due to the huge amount of pressure he puts on himself. But he is not quick to do things. He would rather just sit back and ignore all his responsibilities. He doesn't like doing things he doesn't enjoy unless he absolutely has to. Which means he finishes all his assignments last minute like a good student should. Some would say he has simply become jaded when it comes to work.

Taewon is actually surprisingly smart despite his commonly lazy demeanour and his pride. Which is evident when he is given a problem he wants to or needs to solve. Instead of being his typical lazy self he will get his into gear and solve the problem as quickly and efficiently as possible. Which often surprises people. Which also annoys Taewon in return. Because solving problems is what kept him busy while being in detention. Problem solving is actually something he thoroughly enjoys doing which is second to being the best.

Taewon is also very honest when it comes down to it. It's mainly because there's no real point in being fake to someone or lying because it takes way too much effort. So typically he will tell the truth which for the most part is a good thing. But it can also have negative repercussions because not everyone enjoys his honest. But he is also honest in the fact he doesn't care if someone cares that he's too honest. However he will keep something a secret if someone tells him to do that specfically. Because while he feels no personal need to lie. He understands that it is not the same for everyone else.

He is also quite confident, which obviously a given with someone with as much pride and ego as Taewon. Or maybe he just lack fear? That would explain why he is so willing to not abide by dress code or being able to get into fights. That is because he believes that he will try his honest best and that's all he can do. There is no point getting nervous because it'll make you worse off. After all you can control every variable in your favour. So he decides to dictate the ones he can in his favour. Namely himself. Because whatever will happen, will happen.

BACKGROUND + CURRENT EVENTS —

• No Taewoon was born into a small family. Like extremely small because his mother looked after him as his only parent. He would never meet his Dad because his Dad left when he found out his mother was going to keep the child. Because his mother had to provide for him. When he was older enough to go to school she got a job with really horrid hours just to provide for him. Which instilled in a young Taewon the need to make his mother proud. 

In his school life he didn't do so well. This was mainly due to bully from other kids because he had no dad. Which meant detention was a constant for him. Which he hated a lot. But his teacher at the time understood that he was just retaliating against his bullies. So he decided to teach Taewon during his detentions instead of making him sit in a room by himself. After all he understood his dream to do well to provide for his mother much like how she had for him. 

That coupled with him studying after school (because what else would he do?). Meant he got in a lot of studying. So despite his knack for getting into trouble, he was the top of his grade. However he'd get into more trouble as the years would go on because when you fight one . His friends usually jump in. So he'd actually get pretty hurt. Hurt enough that his mother would notice despite Mr Choi doing his best to hide it from her. He'd constantly tell her not to worry.
 
Eventually they'd move to Seoul around the time Taewon had to start high school. Normal kids would complain about moving during such an important. Not Taewon. Why? Because he had no friends to miss. Well outside Mr. Choi, but he'd keep in contact with him whenever he could. His mother also ended up getting a better job which means that she earnt more. Which by extension meant that they weren't struggling to get by. So they could actually have nice things.
 
When he started highschool he decided to tell everyone in his class up front that his mother was a single parent and if anyone had a problem with that or was going to insult his mother that they should do it right then and there. One joker tried. Note the tried.
 
Sure he got into a fight on his first day. But he proved his point. After all no tried after that. Mind you he did end scaring his classmates. Not that he minded. It also meant he'd spend less time fighting and more time studying. Which was the whole point of doing that. It didn't help it made him seem like a badass.

However as the years went by and the pressure become heavier and heavier each year. Why? All he knew was that he wanted to do well for his mother's sake. But he didn't know he wanted to do with his life. Which was problematic because his mother now after several years expected great things from him. Intially she just wanted him to be happy. But now he created his own problem of raising everyone's expectation of him.

And what did he do? Instead of getting his things together. He became lazy. Sure he still did well in school. But honestly he was drowning in everyone's expectations. Because he was no longer doing it for himself. He was  sick of trying so hard. He just wanted to do his own thing. Sure he didn't know what that was and sure this was a problem he created himself. But he just wanted some relief from it. 

That was until he heard about a game beta that needed volunteers at his school. Since it obviously didn't require him doing proper work and playing games at least in his mind. He volunteered 

 

RELATIONSHIPS — 

• Mother - No Jiyeon (38) - Business analyst -  Calm, Reserved - While they have a close relationship they really talk mainly because she is busy very often. However he does his best by her. He also cooks her dinner so she has to do less.
