Ridiculous farewell

My school is conducting a little party for us as a farewell since we're in senior year. But the funny thing is that, the students themselves have to prepare dances, skits and songs. The teachers don't do anything. Why? Because they're the kings and queens and we're their slaves and we're stupid...

No, no. Nothing like that. Actually, the party is going to be conducted the day after teacher's day in India, so the teachers don't consider it as a farewell party for us but a teacher's day party given to them by us. Crazy right? I know... but what to do...

What's more ridiculous? We need to pay for that. The school isn't going to spend a penny on it. They collected INR 400 from each student (which is about 6 USD). You must be like, 6 USD isn't a big deal. But do you know how many students we have? There are 850 students on campus and nearly 800 have already paid. So, the total collection is INR 320000 which is about 5000 USD. Still a small amount? Nah. The whole preparation is going to take only about 3000 to 3500 USD so what about the other amount? Refund? Nah, they'll just keep it in their pockets.

So, yeah, we ARE stupid enough to do all this. And they gave us only one week time to prepare for the performances. Along with that, manage studies, complete the homeworks and write the exams. They won't even give sufficient time to practice at school! Amazing, isn't it? -_-

BY THE WAY, I have participated in a group dance (because I think I can manage time when I know I can't T_T). The practice starts next week and my schedule will be completely packed so guys... don't expect an update from me... at least a long one during the next week. And, please wish our group luck so that our performance can be a hit.

We paid INR 500 and our juniors INR 300 . We have to make all the arrangements starting from venue , catering to songs , performances and gifts on top of that invitations.
All the best. Rock the stage ;)

Whoa, I'm really shocked about this, they didn't charge us at all for both the farewells (the one we gave to the seniors, and the one our juniors gave us when we were graduating), so this is a real surprise to us. And I think we were given around two weeks to prepare for the ceremony? I don't really remember, it's been more than seven years since the farewell we planned. We were definitely given enough time, though.
It's strange, though, aren't you a senior? Why do you have to dance? ^^" Anyways, I wish you all the very best for your group dance, go break a leg! (I know that's what they say for plays, but whatever :P)

Hello! It sounds extremely unfair for all the teachers to be such jerks while you do all the hard work :( although its tough to juggle between this and schoolwork, try to enjoy it even a little? It's your final year so screw the teachers and think of it as a stress relief from exams! I'm looking forward to your return for more chapters :) good luck! :D
