How does it feel being put in a team with the prettiest girl in yg?

appearance.  

maria is obviously mixed race. she shares some korean traits from her father and some western traits from her mother. she appears more like her mother, which makes her stand out the most when she's with her mainly asian teammates. she's one of the smallest in the show, at 158 cm and 45 kg. she also has big ears that she has to hide behind her ears.

style.  

maria's style fits her personality. she's boyish and quirky and loves to stand out. her general attire usually includes sweaters and shorts. in private and practice, she likes to wear shorts with leggings under and her top is usually a sweater.  ( one  two three four ) she also loves to wear snapbacks, no matter what. when she goes it, it's a bit the same. maria is not fashionista. she wears plaid shirts and long jeans with tenny shoes on her feet. ( one two three four )

personality traits.  loud, talkative, playful, humorous, caring, stubborn, irresponsible, dependant

personality.  

maria's personality shows that she is in fact a little kid. she's the loudest in the team. it's a positive trait at some points (mainly on the stage), but can get a bit extreme at some times. she's a big talker. for a girl who only knows basic korean, she sure does run all the time. you'd think that her minor knowlegde of the korean language would limit her talking, but it doesn't. instead, she just replaces the korean words she doesn't know with spanish or english words. 

being titled "nation's best friend", maria is definitely the best friend character. she loves to play around and make games out of everything. she's the person you go to when you need some way to bring a smile to your face. she loves to crack jokes, so she's the moodmaker of team a. it's rare to see a smile not on maria's face. she cares about everyone and hates it when people aren't happy. so, she made it her goal to make all 12 girls laugh through out the entire showrun.

but, still being a little kid, maria is stubborn. she's a headstrong girl who has dogged determination in what she believes in. it's hard to change her way of mind or keep her from doing something she likes. she's also pretty irresponsible. but, team a's leader is always there to help put her in check. in fact, maria is pretty dependent on the leader. hell, she's dependent on everyone really.  it's just group a's leader is the one who she depends on the most. hopefully, as she grows in her career, she's become less relying on everybody.

background.  

maria's parents met in puerto rico. her father, a korean soldier, was stationed there while her mother was a simple waitress at a diner. they fell in love, got married and had their only child- good ol' maria. she spent most of her life in puerto rico, where she grew to become the town's peevish clown. everyone loved her and her fun personality, making her the center of everyones attention. she got into rap pretty young, through her tio (uncle), who worked as a dj at a club. he would show her a lot of rappers; both latino and not. soon enough, with her uncle as her mentor, she started writing music and rapping.

she mostly just rapped in front of her family at get togethers. she was too young to be participating in rap battles, so she got to practice freestyling in the comfort of her own home. she got a little too comfortable at home, which made it extremely hard when her father revealed that they would be moving to south korea. she didn't like the idea at all, she only knew puerto rico. it was home, where her heart was and still is in all honesty. but, unfortunately for her, she had no choice. when she was 10, her parents moved away from their family in puerto rico and settled in south korea. 

   I've got fifteen minutes to eat this cake, i can do this. do not underestimate my power.

trivia. 

– she loves candy, especially sour candy like sour patch kids, sour punch and warheads.
– she speaks really fast, no matter what language. 
– maria is the worst at studying, every time she sits down to try and do schoolwork, something else catches her attention and she forgets all about it.
– she loves to go to the beach, but hates sand.
– she's really good at baking
– she's scared of heights

– despite being the most talkative and extroverted, she doesn't have that many close friends. mainly because during her trainee days, she was still learning korean
– she hasn't been able to spend a full day with her parents since she startd traning. 
– she really misses her mom and dad. and cries about it sometimes when she's alone.
 

relationships.  

– mother :: marisol sanchez (40) / chef / caring, strict, loud, loving / maria is a mommy's girl. she always went to her mom when she troubled. being away from her is hard, since maria always needed her mom. her mother works as a chef at a spanish restaurant in seoul. whenever she gets free time, she goes there to eat, in hope to be able to spend some time with her mother.

– father :: song jaehyun (43) / retired soldier / calm, understanding, smart, laidback  / maria sees her father even less than she sees her mother. her father always was the person she went to when she needed some sort of guidance. she get's to call him every now and then to ask for his advice, but other than that, she barely sees him. but, he still is on her mind every day.

– close friend:: almi ulrich (15) / yg trainee / energetic, confident, dominant / almi and maria are both mixed racial girls, so maria felt some sort of comfort in almi when she first met her. the two practically trained together, almi just training 7 months longer than maria. despite being on opposing teams, the two are still very close and always joke around, throwing lighthearted insults at each other. they are always there to support each other when one goes on stage to perfomance

years trained & trainee life.  3 years, 9 months

mari slowly got into the kpop industry as she lived in korea. when she was 11, she auditioned for yg entertainment, a label that she felt fit her best. she got in with her well trained rapping, and spent the next 3, almost 4, months as a trainee. it was hard for maria at first, since she moved from a spanish speaking country to a korean speaking country. none of the foreign trainees spoke spanish, so she was practically on her own from there. for the beginning months, maria was missing her parents on wishing that she didn't sign any contract. but as she learned more korean and bonded with the other trainees, she grew to love it. or at least love it as much as you can. she was able to do what she loved; write music and rap. it took some getting used to, but she eventually decided that this was the best thing for her.

What do you look forward the most in this show? 
Even though winning would be the best thing for me, I'm actually really looking forward to being able to show my talents and shine for a bit. I didn't really get any pre-debut experience, so hopefully this'll make up for it!
