Girl's Day's Hyeri (Backup) 1

Height and weight — 50 kg and 168 cm

me, me, and me.

style — Iseul doesn't really have a set style - as long as her lower body is showed off, she's pretty much fine of anything (though she does try to avoid neon colors). She's pretty proud of her toned and long, thin legs so she shows them off often. She's also pretty fond of heels, just so she can add some inches to her height.

Appearance — Though not the tallest and pretty slim, Iseul's aura and manner make her seem bigger. One thing to notice about her is her short, platinum blonde dyed hair. Iseul hasn't had long hair in years - she prefers short hairtyles. Dyeing her hair is also one of the things she likes to do - before her blonde hair, she had this dark purple color. She would never do two colors at the same time, unless it's her natural black color plus a dip dyed other color. She has long, thin legs and a perky, toned - two things she loves best about her body. She also has a light tan - that weirdly enough looks good with her platinum blonde hair.

personality
+ Calm, Mature, Self-Aware, Helpful, Honest
+/- Philosophical, Passionate, Witty, Protective
- Pushy, Nagging, Arrogant, Stubborn, Shameless

Probably the best thing about Iseul is that she's self-aware and can admit her best traits and her worst. As the eldest unnie, she's very calm and mature- she knows the difference between work and play, knows when to be mature or goofy. But as the eldest, Iseul's also pretty pushy and naggy- ordering her dongsaengs out a lot. She can also be quite arrogant and shameless- though it's not unfounded, she knows she's good at rap and can sing and isn't afraid to say it. Though she's the worst at dance, it won't stop her from showing everyone her dance moves - no matter how much secondhand embarrassment she gives her dongsaengs. Iseul is also quite stubborn - it's hard to win an argument against her and she can sometimes be compared to a rock. But no matter how arrogant or stubborn she is, she's 100% honest - when you prove she's wrong, knows she's wrong or even just talking to someone, she'll straight up say things how it is (unless she's in a boradcast, she has a filter too). Despite being arrogant and stubborn, Iseul has a soft spot too. She likes helping and taking care of people - whether subtly or openly. Fans adore this part of her - the way she takes care of the members and the fans make them all sigh in happiness. Her tweets towards the fans are the absolute best. She's very passionate about the things she loves or cares about. Music is just one of the things she loves, so she devotes a lot of her time to it (but never too much, remember, she knows how to draw the line). Witty is also one thing to describe her. Iseul just know what to say and when to say to make people laugh - but it's sometimes a bit insulting though. But, similar to Super Junior's Heechul nobody gets really offended because they think it's her charm. Iseul is very philosophical - she contemplates a lot about life. Sometimes, this is good as she can give the best advice. Other times, it's bad because it causes her to be all depressed. She's very protective of her group mates - sometimes to the point of annoying them but they understand because of what happened to Iseul's sister. She's also protective of the fans.

likes
▪ Tea / Nothing like tea to calm you down
▪ Spicy food / Spicy food is her absolute favorite.
▪ Rain / She find looking and listening to the rain soothing.
▪ Nutella / She's not especially fond of sweets, but Nutella just found its way into her heart.
▪ Wine / She loved this since her first sip. Oh and her dongsaeng's antics make her want to just drink to her heart's content.

▪ Music / Her passion for music is very, very intense.
▪ Being right / Oh the satisfaction is so sweet.

dislikes
▪ Extreme weather conditions / Too hot or too cold is a huge no-no for her. She's really sensitive when it comes to weather and easily gets cold or hot.
▪ Coffee / She think it's too bitter. She'll only drink coffee as a last resort and if it only has a lot of sugar to counter the bitterness.
▪ Saseng fans / She absolutely hates them, but as the leader, she keeps a calm and composed aura when they're around.
▪ Smoking / She dislikes smoking a lot because of what it does to health.
▪ Drugs / Same as smoking, she hates it.

funfacts
▪ Iseul owns a puppy, a Teacup Maltese: white one called Snowdrop. She and her family aren't fond of dogs, but Dasom wanted one when she was still alive. Iseul saw her and decided to take her in, though (Sugar)'s the one who takes care of her. She's thinking of giving Snowdrop to (Sugar) instead. [Though if you pick Iseul and the one who has the Sugar plotline hates animals or dogs, you can choose other people to give the puppy to]
▪ Iseul's first kiss was with her brother. Okay, now that sounds uous, but hear the reason out first. They were playing the paper kiss game with their mutual friends and they ended up kissing because the paper fell off. They were both so disgusted when they registered what happened. In the end, they both agreed it was better their first kiss was with someone they trusted than a jerky boyfriend or whiny girlfriend. Of course she doesn't tell this information to broadcasts, only people she trusts.
▪ She's always been the top of her class, though she dropped to second during her tenure as a trainee.

▪ She's currently enrolled in Yonsei University and pursuing a career in Business Management.
▪ Iseul has a crush on Simon Dominic. His rapping makes her swoon. Of course, she's totally calm when he's around.

▪ She's dated two times before, but both of the guys she dated were jerks.
▪ She has her driver's liscence.

▪ She wants to go on Unpretty Rapstar so she can piss off the editors. Let's just say she's not a fan.
▪ She got the nickname "Sergeant Kang" because she orders her dongsaengs out a lot.

▪ In Weekly Idol, when they're doing Random Play Dance, Sergeant Kang will make an appearance.
▪ She's a bit uneasy of kids. She likes them but she doesn't know how to treat them.

▪ Origami and knitting are her hobbies.

▪ Her favorite book genres are young adult, adventure and fantasy.
▪ Her favorite time of the day is morning. She's unusually chipper and likes to annoy her

▪ She likes Spring the best. Not too hot nor too cold.

home is where the heart is.

background — Iseul grew up the eldest child of Kang Junho, successful lawyer, and Lee Bora, a school teacher. She had two younger siblings, Kang Dasom and Kang Minho. Iseul grew up happy - getting the best gardes, having the greatest siblings, basking in loving parents, hanging out with loyal friends. Truthully, what more could she ask for?

Until Dasom fell ill - bone marrow cancer struck her. At 10 years old, Iseul watched as her sweet sister slowly withered away - but never losing her smile or her kind words.  Dasom was finally laid to rest when Iseul was almost 12 years old, the family turned to different things to alleviate their grief - Junho buried himself in his work, Bora started knitting, and Minho studied medicine books. Iseul turned to music - particularly rap. Rap helped her express herself - made her feel free and happy. That was the time she decided she wanted to be a rapper - so she went underground. She managed to balance her time for school, rap and social time. The first two years in the underground scene were a bit hard, but eventually she found her own style and rhythm.

It took a year before Iseul released a mixtape, called "Dasom" under the name "Somi" (a combination of DaSOm and MInho). It was a tribute to her sister and was about losing loved ones. It was insanely successful, much to her surprise. Iseul didn't really think about fame when she released the mixtape - it was just a way for her to express herself. Eventually, she released other mixtapes like "Hana", a mixtape that talked about life, and "Book Cover", a mixtape that disapproved about judging people by their outer appearance and outer personality.

When AOMG decided to open auditions for a new girl group in 2012, Iseul felt that she should audition. Her gut has never failed her before, so she auditioned and got in.

family —

▪ Kang Junho | Father | Aloof, calculating and stern - Junho is like the strict father you see in dramas. He loves his family a lot, but work takes away too much of his time. Out of everyone in the family, he's the one who still hasn't wrapped his head arounf the fact that Iseul's career choice. He keeps his tongue in check though, seeing that his daughter is happy with her choice.

▪ Lee Bora | Mother | Bora's the same as Dasom - sweet, patient and kind. Her patience is over miles long, dealing with her students and children has never worn her out. She's a bit apprehensive of Iseul's career choice but she supports her nevertheless.

▪ Kang Minho | Younger Brother | The baby of the Kang family. Iseul and Minho are cut from the same cloth. They have the same personality, except he's more brutish and hotheaded. Alikes repel after all, so they had a lot of arguments but they still love each other. Minho adored his older sister Dasom a lot. Iseul got protective of him and vice versa and got closer after Dasom died.

▪ Kang Dasom (Deceased) | Younger Sister | While Iseul was arrogant, calm and philosophical, Dasom was sweet, entusiastic and innocent. She was practically the poster child of purity and kindness. She was practically the sunshine of their family. Iseul loved her a lot. She was aso the mediator between Iseul and Minho's arguments. When she got cancer, Dasom just smiled and never lost herself to her sickness. Iseul's glad that Dasom finally got to rest.

friends —

▪ Byun Mirae | Friend | Iseul and Mirae used to be the best of friends but with Iseul becoming a trainee, they found time for each other lacking. They still text each other, because they'll always be friend, just not as close as they once were. But they've moved on with different best friends, though they'll always love each other just like how they used to be. Mirae was also the one to unofficially introduce her to the underground rap scene, as she had an older brother, named Waye, who rapped. She's probably SPICE's number 1 fan.

▪ Waye | Friend | Mirae's brother, Waye was the one who officially introduced her to the underground rap scene. He was the one who showed her the ropes and how to find her own, unique rapping style. Waye never really got popular and quit being an underground rapper when his and Mirae's father got sick. Now, he's a successful business owner who is still a rapper at heart. He's a huge fan of Jay Park and, once debuted, SPICE.

▪ Sugar | Group Mate and Best Friend | (Sugar) reminds Iseul of the sister she lost with her sweet nature and kindess but Dasom and (Sugar) have their differences that make sure Iseul's mind doesn't blur the line between the two. She thinks (Sugar) is one of the sweetest people she knows and isn't afraid to defend her from people who call her "the useless member". Iseul calls (Sugar) "Cheonsa" meaning angel and (Sugar) calls her "Bohoja" meaning guardian.

▪ Cinnamon | Group Mate and Best Friend | Iseul isn't really bothered by the fact that (Cinnamon) is the leader instead of her. She helps (Cinnamon) out a lot when it comes to the members, but she's pretty content to let (Cinnamon) have the reigns. (Cinnamon) goes to her for advice sometimes, and Iseul helps her when being the leader becomes too much.

▪ The Rest of SPICE | Group Mates and Friends | Iseul loves her dongsaengs, she really does. But sometimes, she just can't take how rumbunctious they are, especially Nutmeg. She takes care of them though, and (lowkey) makes sure that they aren't neglecting their health.

IM ReAdy to be a star.

STage name — Iseul (She decided she wanted her birth name, thinking it would honor her family as a whole)

Trainee Life — Transitioning from underground rapper to idol trainee was a bit hard at first. Idols couldn't say or do certain things, nor could they just go out without styling. As liberal as AOMG is, idols are still idols -  though AOMG does give them a lot of freedom compared to other idols. If AOMG was as strict as other companies, Iseul wouldn't have auditioned or quit after a couple of month (It doesn't matter if Simon D is there, okay a little, but not worth her freedom). Iseul was known as the bomb rapper who you can talk to freely in AOMG. She was pretty shocked when she was picked to be a part of SPICE.

TRAINEE YEARS —  2012-2016 (4 years)

Fanclub + Color — Dewdrops (not really a name you would expect from a rapper, but Iseul means 'dew') + Light Steel Blue (#B0C4DE)

plotline — Chili
Talent twins
Rap : EXID's LE (Sonamoo's D.ana)
Vocal : EXID's Junghwa (EXID LE)
Dance : missA's Suzy

PERSONA — The Witty, Laidback Unnie who Cares a Lot Even When It's Not Obvious (And also The Girl Crush)

INTRODUCTION — "Annyeonghaseyo! SPICE's Eldest, Iseul imnida!"

Pre-debut activities?
▪ The only predebut activities she had were her mixtapes: "Dasom", "Hana" and "Book Cover"

Scandals — Surprisingly, none.

the one and only.

love interest — EXO's Suho

backup(s)
▪ GOT7's Jackson
▪ BTS' Rap Monster
▪ Block B's Zico

personality — Suho is an incredibly responsible and hardworking person. He cares a lot about his group to the point where he doesn't have much of a social life. His hardworking nature and leadership skills make him the perfect leader. He's also a gentleman.

relationship
First Meeting / Suho and Iseul met backstage after a music show. She was charmed by his gentlemanly manner and he was enamored with her vivaciousness. They became friends and exchanged numbers. They would text each other and call, much to the bemusement of their members.

How They Got Together / Nothing fancy, just Suho asking her out though text for a date. They went to a far away and practically desrted cafe, wearing wigs, different clothes from their usual styles, and different makeup styles. Surprisingly, no one recognized them.

How Their Relationship Works / They were more affectionate, kissed a few times and hugged too. Calls and texts were often. They had couple items, but ones that wouldn't be obvious. They were outed by Dispatch when they went on a date in Seoul Forest, only almost 3 months after their first date. Iseul and Suho did plan to tell the public on their 3-month aniversary, but Dispatch just didn't want to wait. Many people were enraged of course, especially the more extreme fans, but they still kept their relationship.

End Game / Not everyone gets to marry their love. After over a year of dating, Iseul and Suho broke off their relationship, officially stating that it was because of conflicting schedules causing them to naturally fall apart. In reality, their relationship started getting rocky after the first three months. Suho just didn't have the determination to contact her anymore -  he placed his group far above her. Iseul was tired of being the one to initiate everything - she was the one who called first when one of them was out of the country, the first to text, the first to suggest their dates. Suho was just so immersed in his group that he just didn't have the time for his girlfriend unless she contacted him first. Both of them got frustrated when his lack of time and her pushiness gets brought up. Iseul and Suho agreed that she needed a man who can balance his time between work and social life (or at the very least, still shows her he cares) and that he needed a woman with more patience and understanding (and probably have a relationship with her after his career with EXO). It was a mutual breakup, so no one is bitter - especially when one {Backup Love Interest} started wooing Iseul.

Overall / Their relationship could be compared to a flame - catching attention at first glance, burning passionately but dying out once the fuel has gone. Iseul had understood she liked men who would devoted more time to her and Suho would have to be out of EXO for him to have a relationship or love the girl enough to at least place her on the same level as EXO.
