Why people write Xi?????

Why people write Lu Han with another surename?? I see it a lot these days.

I mean Xi Luhan, why? This is a Chinese name, the family name is Lu. So, why not write instead Lu Han or just Han, before giving him another surename he doesn't have. I've seen many people write it down this and it gets me confused, is this some sort of way to do an ooc writers do these days?

I, personally and not that I mind the people who does it, wouldn't do it because I feel like I'm disrespecting Han's family name. Some people even consider as an insult towards their family honor. My Japanese surename is Maeda, not that you people know or care, but if it were me and if someone mistkes or gives me another surename I personally would feel kind of awkward or offended [depending on the person and the reason.]

Maybe is just me overthinking things as I put myself in other people's shoes.

chinese names usually have three characters (ex. zhang yixing, huang zitao, wu yifan) so i guess people thought luhan's name was weird bc his stage name = his full name, which only has two characters.

some people say the "xi/xiao" came from a fanfic writer who put it as his last name bc she just didn't know what else to do and it caught on while others say it might have been a misunderstanding from hearing people call luhan "luhan-ssi" or something like that

also to the commenter below, "xiao lu" does mean "little deer" and it is a nickname of his! sorry for the long reply lol i also was very confused why people wrote his name as xi luhan .__.

People write his name as Xiao Luhan a lot. I think it's a nickname because Xiao Lu means Little Deer, I think. So many people started calling him Xiao Luhan, but I have always thought it's a nickname, nothing official

Ive always questioned why they do that. He explained before that Lu is his family name and his first name is Han. I guess its because his name seems kind of short?
