there are two different adrians. on the surface there's no difference between the two, but when you really dig, the differences are clear. they "switch" every few months, usually, but there's not much of a pattern.
the first adrian (the "good' adrian) is reckless and restless. this adrian is also usually sober - he doesn't need any drugs, because he feels like he's high all the time. he doesn't sleep because he doesn't have to, and usually he doesn't eat, because he has other things to do. he thinks fast and talks even faster, about everything to everyone always. (he changes topics like they're traffic lights.) usually, this adrian can't concentrate, but if he can, he'll get done overnight what takes most people a few weeks. this adrian steals big things and paints giant, bightly colored murals, because he knows he can get away with it. he's confident and impulsive in equal measure - he does whatever he wants the second he wants to do it because he can, and he does not care about the consequences at all. good luck reasoning with him, though (unless you're the leader) because this adrian is aggressive. he'll get into fistfights if you look at him funny, and he doesn't discriminate - he'll hit men, women, members of spitfire, members of other gangs, whoever. this adrian is dangerous. but adrian loves feeling like that - it's like he's high without taking anything. he's gone beyond happy and is on, like, cloud fifty-four.

so when he doesn't feel like that, he tries his best to emulate that feeling. adrian #2 (the "bad" adrian) is still reckless and still restless. he's probably not sober, because he has to actually be high to feel high. (just give him some pills and he'll hope for the best.) if he is sober, though, he doesn't sleep because he can't, because his mind just won't shut up about how he's such a waste of space, jesus adrian, and if he remembers to eat he's pretty lucky to have done so. he's a lot more distant, but he has to keep up appearances, so he'll probably still not shut up ever. he usually can't concentrate, and he can't find the energy within himself to do much of anything, even if and especially if he has to. he doesn't steal unless the others are doing it, and if he does find it in himself to paint, it's black and white and nothing extravagant. he plays it safe so he can't anybody else up with his stupidity, but if there's a chance something will hurt him, he'll do it in a heartbeat. but usually this adrian needs coaxing to do much of anything - he needs to be talked up, not talked down. he's still irritable, though, and somehow he's even more threatening than when he actually has energy.
