adam? more like adamn - just kidding, but seriously. how is it that this guy has so much going for him? he's the lead guitarist of a band that doesn't , he's got a girlfriend who's gorgeous and probably soon to be ceo of samsung or something ridiculous like that, and his animal crossing town is beautiful and thriving. his life, comparatively, is good.

"adam jeon" and "working out" aren't words that make sense in the same sentence, unless that sentence is "adam jeon strongly dislikes working out". as a result, he's of a healthy weight, but not fit in the slightest. his posture also - years spent hunched over his laptop and his various game systems have been anything but kind to him - and his general stance is "hands in pockets", unless he's on stage. (slouching while standing and playing guitar isn't easy.) his hair is dyed chocolate brown, but for a long stretch in his freshman year, it was bright green. (he doesn't like being reminded of this, but do his friends ever let him forget? no, no they don't. they have pictures. it's bad.)

style

kyle makes enough of an effort with his style to make it look like he's made an effort, but not enough to actually spend much time in the morning choosing clothes. he's always, always, always wearing sweatpants - clean, fairly nicely fitted sweatpants, but sweatpants nonetheless - and vans, because vans are comfy as heck. his collection of t-shirts is huge, and most of them are decorated with references to games or bands he likes, but they're also usually covered by black hoodies. for gigs, he usually ends up in black skinny jeans, boots, and one of shige's tank tops. they're oversized and he wants to wear them home, like, all the time. (he doesn't.)

q: is adam the easiest person to befriend?

a: no, no he is not. unless you've known him for forever, like miyeon has, his first impression really isn't the best. he's slouched over and lazy and mumbly, and can generally be described as "kind of an ". he's eternally grumpy, he's always making sarcastic comments that nobody really asked for, and he's always just on the wrong side of the line dividing "polite" and "honest". he's not the best at expressing...well, anything verbally, but he also can't just take his guitar with him everywhere, so he doesn't really talk much, other than those aforementioned sarcastic comments and brutal honesty. it's not even like they're funny, well-timed sarcastic comments, either - they frequently serve to silence conversations and make things really, really weird for everyone involved. he doesn't care about much other than miyeon, the friends he has already, and his guitar, and he makes no effort whatsoever to make it seem like he cares about anything or anyone else.

q: wait, so why is anyone actually friends with him, then?

a: well, for one thing, his animal crossing town is awesome. everyone wants some of azalea town and its perfect cherries. (i mean, i do, at least.) no, but actually? adam being nice is a bit of a stretch, but adam being a good person is a little more in the right area. you'll never have to worry about him lying to you, which can be a good thing, in theory. he only puts the minimum effort into things he doesn't care about, but when it comes to things he does care about, he'll work his hardest to make sure they're not hurt. he's loyal to his friends to a fault; he'll put them above himself in a second. he's practical and realistic - he claims to be an optimist, but that's more of a coping mechanism than anything else - and he's actually fantastic at managing money. he didn't have the most wealthy childhood...it was just him and his dad, from what i know. as a result, he's fantastic at finding deals when other people may not see them. and in the end, you know, i think he likes being around people. he's not the best at interacting with them, but he definitely likes being around them. he's not very...active, i guess, when he's by himself. people give him energy.

q: slow your roll for a sec. coping mechanism?
a: yeah. he's always saying, "other people have it worse", "there's a genocide going on in sudan so i can't really complain", stuff like that. but - and maybe i'm just going absolutely nuts - he seems kind of stressed, like, always. he gets it out when we're playing shows, and it shows. when adam is shredding on stage, he has the charm to back up his general rudeness, to some extent. it doesn't really translate to real life, but stage adam? wow. you can't take your eyes off of him. anyways, yeah, coping mechanism. his life isn't the greatest right now. he keeps doubting himself, doubting himself, doubting himself - i'm not sure i'm gonna graduate on time, i'm not sure...about other things, you know. it's his life and i'm really not sure i'm the right person to go into it; it's took a lot for him to trust me enough to tell me everything. i don't even know if his girlfriend knows most of this stuff...the kasa people do, though. those six are really, really close. way better than jasa, for sure. and they know how to party, holy . i'm always having to drive him home since he drinks with them so much. his id is fake as but i guess it's been working for him just fine. i wish he'd just...ah, nevermind.

lifestyle

his apartment is . it's cramped and boring and it always, always smells like weed, always, even though he doesn't smoke, and neither does his roomie. he lives with a roommate who he's just not compatible with; their schedules are completely different, and also, he hates loud music and partying. he actually spends most of his time at shige's apartment, since most of the buildings near his major are closer to shige's place anyway. he's a computer science major, just like his father, and spoiler alert, he hates it with a passion, but...well, at least he gets to go to college in the first place, right? he'll stick out and get his bachelors and then think about the future when it comes. he works at as a clerk at a local rec center, and he'd definitely reap the benefits of having free access to a gym if he was anyone else. he's attending ufl on a need-based scholarship that covers housing and not much else.

getting drunk and forgetting about the life he's living is a favorite pasttime of adam's; if a party exists, he's there, and he's usually getting wasted. he's not one for drunken , as that would be drunken cheating for him, but he usually ends up talking for girls about roswell's conspiracy theories or roman mythology. he has a fake id that people occasionally check, but seeing as he'll be able to use his actual id in december, he's been a bit lax with it as of late.

GUITAR — he's been playing since he was ten. he owns two guitars - his acoustic is named europa, and his electric is named baucis.

DRANK — he loves shots. in general. any kind of shot, regardless of what's in it, he will drink it. this usually ends with him being out drunk, but hey...

STARGAZING — he likes looking at the stars from the roof of his apartment, when he has time; it's calming.

FATHER — adam was completely raised by his father, jeon jaehyuk; his mother was out of the picture shortly after he was born. they haven't seen each other since adam has started college, and as much as he'd like to do something about it, he also can't really bring himself to.

NAILS — he bites them all the time - it's a nervous habit. he says he keeps them short for guitar, and because it helps him type faster, but it's not a very good lie.

3DS — he's had his yoshi 3ds xl since the second it was available for pre-order; his most-played game, which he's always playing, is animal crossing: new leaf. he also likes pokemon and, of course, the mario franchise.

GREEN TEA — is his favorite everything; he's not the biggest fan of caffeine, and green tea has very, very little of it. he hoards it and requests it as a present for all holidays.

once upon a time (in 2003), a little girl moved from jeju, south korea to roswell, new mexico. she didn't speak much english, and as such, she was terrified of her first day of school...until, of course, she met with the only other korean-speaking kid in her class, a certain adam jeon. they stayed friends throughout elementary school, through cries of cooties and "miyeon and adam sitting in a tree"; they stayed friends throughout middle school, where she got amazing grades and adam mostly just played guitar; and finally, a month before high school graduation, they started dating. he had no plans to go to college until he realized that miyeon would probably only date a guy with some kind of future in his future.

up until winter break of his freshman year, nobody in kasa actually believed that miyeon existed, because adam having a beautiful girlfriend who was also a business major at the university of chicago made no sense at all in any universe, but it was clear when she visited that they were together. moody, grumpy adam all but disappeared; he turned into mush around her. he's always on his phone because they're always talking on kakao; every love song he writes is always, always all about her.

but nothing's ever perfect, is it? the issue isn't distance or cheating; it's simply the fact that, although fires are warm and nice while they last, they eventually will go out. this is not a fire that's going out in a downpour, but slowly, in a drizzle, and someone keeps trying to add kindle so it keeps going, but it's no use. the break-up, at this point, is something that neither of them want to face, but they also both know that something's gotta give.

whatever and ever is a band that does not . they consist of cheerful, eternally grinning bassist talia; her childhood best friend and too-smart-for-this- lead singer, lex; mostly chill keyboardist shigeru adachi, and of course, adam on guitar. they frequently play shows at shady bars and sketchy clubs, eternally waiting for their big break. are they close? yes, but they're not much outside of practice. kasa, shige and miyeon are adam's true friends.

seo daeho is a good kid who deserves nothing but the best. adam just wants to buy him what he wants at starbucks and make sure he's warm all the time. their age difference is only a month, but adam still just wants to treat daeho like his kid. (also, adam is probably the #1 supporter of daeho and his love interest, but because he's adam he can't really say more than "ask them out, dude.")

the love story

they met at whatever and ever's auditions, during november of adam's freshman year, and didn't pay each other much mind, because neither of them thought they'd ever have to interact with each other much. a week later, they got an email from talia with a lot of exclamation points, saying that they both made it in. there's nothing like frequent band practices to bond you, and shige was always nice enough to drive adam home. they learned that they both liked acnl and third eye blind and sleeping, and by the time adam started his sophomore year, they were close friends.

but seeing shige - or any guy, really - in a romantic or ual light is something that makes adam very, very anxious. he's been attracted to a grand total of one person in his life, and she's very much a woman. so when he started having thoughts like i want to wear shige's shirts for forever and ugh why can't i just stay here with you?, he crushed them somewere deep inside where he wouldn't have to deal with them. he's afraid of falling in love with shige - because they're in a band together, because of miyeon, because he actually doesn't know if shige's not straight, because until now he thought he was straight - and he wants nothing to do with these feelings.

but shige is adam's friend; he likes his shirts and his apartment and how he looks when he's playing keyboard. he can't let go of him now without hurting him, and that's the number one thing that adam doesn't want. they're still close, and shige will probably always be there to drive adam home when he's drunk. they can talk about anything with each other, and they trust each other absolutely; it's only adam's personal anxieties keeping them apart. (because when it comes down to it, shige's known a lot of people in his life; he's traveled a lot and met a lot of people thanks to his dad being in the army. he's known adam for less than most of them and he'd still probably run to him at the drop of a hat.)
