background.
Seol was born in Gangwondo-Chuncheon, South Korea, into a family of 5. Her father was the owner of a large company while her mother was a Japanese-Korean translator and secretary. Seol had three older siblings, Byul, Joon, and Yeol. Seol grew up watching her older siblings Byul and Joon make it into the entertainment industry and a few years later, she watched Yeol make it into Cube.
As a child, her sister and brothers were always over-achievers, and she was always compared to them. This brought down her self-esteem but she never told anyone. She always tried her hardest and always beat herself down when she couldn't be the best. She never cried in front of anyone so her family and friends always thought she had no worries and was always happy but deep down she was always sad.
When she moved to America because of family/money issues, she was sent alone but she never complained to her family because she didn;t want to stress her family out any further so she took all the burden and kept it to herself. Being the Maknae of the family, she never spoke about her problems and always shared/gave up what she wanted for her siblings.
In America, she started pursuing her dream for music (She always had the dream yet her family expected her to be a nuse/doctor so she never told them. Also, her siblings were pursuing a music/entertainment career so her family didn't want her to go to the same path). She took lessons, met up with her friends in karaoke, attended festivals, and posted videos on Youtube and Tumblr to make herself known. By the time she went back to Korea, her siblings had already become somewhat famous, and the only thing left was for her to catch up to them.
Seol was actually found by a small modeling entertainment and she did a few jobs for commercials and modeling; she was then found by Bighit entertainment but she quit after a few years and auditioned for Cube Ent to follow her brother and she made it.

Company + trainee life
Trainee Years: 4 Years total (1.5 Year at Bignit; 2.5 years at Cube)
Seol was first casted by Bighit along with BTS (when they were trainees/ when she was 15). However, she didnt feel like she was pursuing music, she felt like she was just being a face; visual (They wanted her to get surgery) so she left and auditioned for Cube, who then accepted her and let her sing and dance how she wanted without straining her on her looks. After a few years at Cube, the director told her to take part in Coalesce, in which she gladly/butnervously agreed to.
Just a few questions
Why do you think you were picked to take part in this global project? I think I was picked because first of all, I could speak korean and english fluently and I am well of aware of both cultures. Even if I am not extermely special ethnicity wise, I feel like even though it is a "global" project, there should be at least one full korean who could fight off all the haters who say that foreigners can't speak korean.
What makes you different compared to the other 6 girls? I was born in Korea so I can fully speak Korean comfortably; I have a satoori accent which people say is my charm. Im really down to Earth to people say I could be fit for the entertainment/variety show area. I already have many experiences (Modeling, cameos in dramas, variety show WGM) so I think I could help the other members adjust easily to the entertainment business
What can you bring to Coalesce? I could bring joy, positivity to Coalesce. I also love having fun so I can bring the silliness or carefree style to Coalesce. I also love music and tend to follow my passions/heart so I can bring a sort of uniqueness to the group
What does Coalesce mean to you?. Coalesce means a new adventure, a new experience, and something that can compeltely change my life and make me into a better, talented, and experienced person. I also feel like this could be the start of a new family, and a close friendship
Do you think this is a good way to get foreigners to join kpop? Yes, I do believe it is because foreigners might be intimidated by KPOP seeing that there are only asians (and also some foreigners think that all Koreans look the same XD) so I think bringing different ehtnicities to the entertainmnt industry is a good idea to spread the hallyu wave to the world.

– Jonghyun is very cold and chic at first and he is introverted. He doesn't know how to open up to people at first and dislikes it when girls flirt with him. Once he gets close to someone he opens up and he jokes around. He doesnt know how to react/express his feelings so he is greatful to Seol who can understand him. He is childish but very kind, caring, and chivalrous. He is overprotective and thoughtful; he gets jealous but doesnt show it. He's tall, (being a model) and cares about fashion. He finds Seol adorable because of how blunt she is, how gullible, and how unpredictable she is. He is also always there when the clumsy Seol is about to mess up. He is a Chulbyuk (which means he doesn't open up to girls at all and avoids them or shows he's uncomfortable near them) except to Seol and Bora (He knows all of Seol's friends and she knows Jonghyun's)
love story.
– When Seol was a model (a small one) she was cast for We Got Married with Jonghyun. At first, Jonghyun disliked being in the show and only showed his caring side in front of the camera. This saddened Seol and even though she was sad, she never showed it. She thought that she was doing this so she could pursue her dream, so she could just close her eyes for this one and endure. However, after a few episodes, Jonghyun started feeling genuine towards her, and she to him. At the end of the season, they were completely in love and even met outside of the show; She cried when it ended and Jonghyun was sad; but he had prepared a special event for her. After the broadcast, he took Seol to a small place he reserved for a "Official ending to WGM Couple" but there he had invited his model friends and he asked her out officially. There the two started dating and still contact and meet each other as often as they can.
status. The two are dating; It's been almost a year. Jonghyun still gets jealous whenever Seol dances with another guy and she gets jealous whenever he acts with another girl XD
ending. The two are dating; they love each other. Since Jonghyun is the older one, its a very cute relationships where Jjong (his nickname that Seol gave her) is caring andprotective over her and she also cares for him whenver he feels sad or down.
