the basics.

name » Han Sunghee (한성희)

nickname(s) »

× Hannie: Because what is a person without a cute, easily remembered nickname? Exactly. The name comes from her time as a cheerleader in high school, where her teammates decided that 'Sunghee' was too long to put on her team jacket.

× Princess: To be completely fair, this isn't a nickname - it's a fact, at least to Sunghee herself. Although the nickname was born as an insult to Sunghee's nasty habit of coming off as self-centered, Sunghee has turned it around and now accepts it as a compliment. Siwon has taken it upon himself to call her by this name and this name only (well, almost), and Sunghee'd be lying if she said she didn't love it.

BIRTHDAY » October 3rd 1986

birthplace » Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea

hometown » Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea

ethnicity » Korean

language(s) »

× Korean (native): Pretty self-explanatory, really. Sunghee's been wanting to learn another language for years, but so far she's just stuck with her Korean and hand gestures.

face claim » Im Jinah (Nana)

backup face claim » Jessica Jung

appearance » If you ask Sunghee, the only thing that's not natural about her is her hair color, which is naturally a very dark brown - but that's a lie. Despite relying on her 'natural beauty', she had her nose fixed shortly after she joined the company, more so out of her own will than the company's because, as she put it, "it's been annoying ever since I got it". But that being said she doesn't automatically go under the knife for her flaws and imperfections; the surgery was the scariest thing she's done in a long time, and chances of her going back to the clinic are very slim.

style » Feminine, fitting and flawless. The three f's and also the rules of fashion Sunghee swears to at every given opportunity. She likes wearing relatively simple clothes knowing that she can make the most boring pair of jeans look like 600-dollar-skinnies in no time, but she'll never sell herself out. Showing skin is okay, sometimes, but more often than not Sunghee will opt for the more classical solution that makes her look like a million bucks all the while staying in the box of 'appropriate clothing'. Red and 'girly' colors are her ultimate favorites, although many wonders can be achieved with black - her closet's filled to the brim with planned outfits for the next 36 years or so, and she spends a great amount of energy on making sure every little detail is in order before even considering getting dressed.

" 'Feminine' is being capable of murder in heels "

" If being pretty is a crime, then I'm up for a lifetime in jail"

"You'll be surprised how much some blonde hair dye can do for a person - you should try it sometime"

*Flips hair* "Oh, sorry. Didn't see you there"

here i am.

Traits » Self-centered, blunt, proud, individualized, gossipper, ambitious, queen bee, lacks originality, crowd pleaser, charming, jealous

personality »

Sunghee has always been, and will probably always be, a tad too self-centered for it to be an accidental slip of the tongue. She firmly believes that she is, to put it in a popular phrase, the , and she won't do anything to change it: If someone has a problem with that, they're the ones who have to change and not her. And if that's not possible, then too bad. Sayonara and have a nice life. She likes herself, she likes herself a lot, and she takes criticism really personal, and as much as possible tries not to make any mistakes at all, because criticism, even the constructive kind, is bad news. She never withholds from speaking the truth, regardless of the receiver's opinion and feelings, because she doesn't think it's fair to keep the truth from people no matter the case. This can - and does - sometimes make her look like an insensitive tramp, but you have to believe me when I say that she mostly does it out of sheer good will. Well, sometimes. Uh...

And despite being on a cheer squad for four years and now a part of V7RTUE, Sunghee is probably the most un-team-centered team-player to ever exist. Other people are nice, there's nothing there, but when all comes down to it, you and you alone are responsible for your success, and thus you can't depend on others. This is a rather controversial attitude to have, especially in her line of work, but people who look to deeply into the matter really need to take a chill pill. It's not like she dislikes every person she's ever met and has ever worked with; it's just that in the end, she wouldn't trust any of them to save her life should she need it - and she probably isn't very much better herself. She has a thing about first and foremost seeing other people as competition rather than potential friends, and that doesn't give her all that much credit on the karma side of things, but it does establish some sort of dominance in the intern ranks: Here I come, little toad, and if you don't move I will mow you down. She wants to be the best, and only the best, and she's not ashamed of openly admitting that she gets jealous very easily when she's not

To be completely honest, Sunghee is probably a very good stereotypical cheerleader-type like the ones we see in movies all the time: She feeds off of the popularity others bestow upon her, and the more people look at her as if she's Jesus, the worse it gets. She doesn't hold back on trying to make people like her, and it's no joke she's gotten the unofficial title as the 'crowd pleaser'. But being a stereotypical pretty girl also means that she is - and this is something she knows and openly talks about - is a pretty shallow person. Her company shapes her, and she follows along like an obedient puppy, and if you asked her what was going on in the real world at any given moment she wouldn't know what to respond. Celebrity life is her entire existence, although that means she has about the same depth as a piece of paper. Regardless of this, however, people seem to trust Sunghee - a terrible decision, really, because she cannot keep a secret, even if her life was at stake. She gossips all the time and about everyone, but the difference lies in what she talks about: She makes a great deal out of bringing out her friends' good sides while her enemies are practically being buried alive, and nobody really says anything about it because it's so much easier being a bystander than a target. Sunghee knows how to entertain a crowd, and she goes full throttle whenever she's performing or meeting new people, because she wants to be remembered for who she brands herself to be: The pretty and charming princess of CKS Entertainment.

Likes »

× Cheerleading. Being cute and the center of attention at the same time? Sign her up!

× Extensive beauty routines. Her face and body are her brand, and she'd rather die than go anywhere without having cleaned her face first

× TV shows. She's a hoe for Gossip Girl (well, duh) and Pretty Little Liars

× Going out. Any opportunity for her to show herself, really, is what makes her world go around

× G.N.I's. As much as she's a party animal, nothing beats a Girls' Night In with her best friends, watching movies and having late night talks about boys

× Shopping. While she doesn't particularly like shopping for clothes (unless it's online), she could easily stay inside ARITAUM or MAC for hours on end. As a matter of fact, her group mates have hauled her out of said stores on numerous occasions

dislikes »

× Aegyo. She does it for the cameras, but as soon as they've stopped rolling you can bet she'll spend at least 4 days hating herself for it

× Swimming. Sunghee has aquaphobia and won't ever go near the agency's swimming pool. Instead she opts for the treadmill

× Cooking. It may have something to do with the fact that she absolutely at it, but Sunghee hates cooking. Absolutely hates it. The only food she knows how to make is her breakfast smoothie (an A+ smoothie if you ask her)

habits »

× Meditating each night before she goes to bed in order to calm her heartbeat

× Ending every text message with 'xx' or a smiley emoticon

× Checking her Instagram while she eats in the morning

hobbies »

× Yoga

× Watching makeup videos on youtube to gain inspiration for her own looks

× Spending a lot of time with Miran at the design studio

TRIVIA »

× Sunghee takes interest in fashion design and makeup artistry; she even had a YouTube-channel called HANSUNGMAKEUP up and running for about a year and a half

× Despite never showing it, she is actually fairly smart. Not brainy, but smart

× She has half a mind to convert to Buddhism, but otherwise doesn't consider herself as particularly religious

× She never leaves her dorm without hand lotion and a pair of sunglasses in her purse

× Instagram: @princesshee. It mostly consists of makeup pictures or #ootd

× She adores dogs. Absolutely adores them. If this whole celebrity thing doesn't work out for her she'll move to Busan and open a dog hotel or something

× In the future, Sunghee would like to branch out into acting

TWO SIDES OF THE SAME COIN.

Stage name » Sunghee

× Dancing: Woori (Rainbow)

BACKUP POSITION » Vocalist, lead dancer
Backup TALENT TWIN(S) »

× Singing: Sulli (f(x))

× Dancing: Seulgi (Red Velvet)

SIN/VIRTUE » Charity
Persona » It's no secret that Sunghee loves the camera, and the camera loves Sunghee as well. She thrives in the environment of flashing lights and constant attention, and she tries to bring out her best, most girly and cute side when she knows people are looking. She's no stranger to aegyo, but she prefers winning people over with her natural charms rather than succumbing to the embarrassing act of cute - but let's be honest, if a man asked her to jump straight into a vortex and he was holding a camera while asking, she would do it in a heartbeat. She tries to present herself as the front of V7RTUE by trying her hardest to keep everything in check and making sure nothing goes sour, but the reality probably is that she's just really digging the attention.

backup sin/virtue » Kindness
persona » Most of her friendliness actually isn't acting, although it may seem like that to onlookers. She actually puts a great deal of effort into being generally likeable and approachable by all, although netizens - knetz in particular - has branded her as being fake, and sue her, but being nice is actually pretty hard work. But she believes that in order to move upwards one needs contacts, and contacts are being established by being out and about and meeting people, and she'd much rather try to secure her and her group's future by playing the role as the sunshine girl than sitting back and letting it all depend on a board of directors. No offense.

Trainee years » 3 years and 8 months at CKS

Trainee Life » Quite literally entering the entertainment world straight out of high school, Sunghee didn't think being a trainee meant so many hours of maintaining and holding onto a certain position. Within the heaps of trainees it was easy to get missed in a crowd or in a class, and Sunghee mostly remembers her trainee days as being put in a zoo with caretakers only looking into things when some poor female trainee was being hauled through the dance studio by her hair. Coming from a title as the uncrowned queen bee of her high school, Sunghee didn't have a hard time finding her spot, but it was definitely hard work maintaining it because of the high persistency in her co-trainees. She focused mainly on her singing and her dancing, but she wouldn't touch the rap lessons with a ten foot pole. Luckily the company didn't think rapping would fit her, whatever that's supposed to mean, but Sunghee was more than satisfied with her vocal and her dance classes. Her former cheerleading career proved to be a big plus as her diet wasn't as hard as some of the other trainees', and already being in somewhat good shape meant that she didn't exhaust herself as easily.

To sum things up, Sunghee was the human embodiment of socialdarwinism: Adapt and survive. She dived into the trainee life head first and was determined to get out on top, to stand out and to not be just another face in a crowd, and honestly, if that didn't get her a few enemies along the way, she did something wrong.

Predebut experience » Nothing. Sunghee pretty much came out of the blue.

Future Scandals »

× WonHee dating scandal: I don't know if this can be classified as a 'scandal', but with the way things were heating up about Super Junior (-M in particular) around the time, I could imagine someone making a big dea out of exposing Sunghee and Siwon before they really started dating

× I don't really know? I hope there's suficient material to work with here lmao

home is where your heart is.

background »

In many ways, Sunghee had a privileged childhood all the while actually not being very different from many other kids who grew up in Gangnam at the time: Her mother worked full time at her high end shop and her father was a firefighter, and nothing remotely exciting happened before she was 13 and her parents split up. Or, maybe exciting isn't the right word, but nevertheless her parents filed for a divorce in late 1999 on good terms, and both started a period of being miracuously single for the first time in who knows how long.

In 2001, Sunghee started high school, and was encouraged by her mother to join some after school activities because it would look great on a future resume. The only thing that realy caught the little princess' eye was the cheerleading squad, and following her acceptance onto the team, all of her spare time was used on learning how to land a perfect triple summersault. During this year Miyoung introduced Lee Jungwha and his 10 year old son, Jiyoung. Sunghee was initially very worried about how her father would take the news, but he turned out to be very happy for his ex-wife, and after her father's approval, Sunghee warmed up to both Junghwa and Jiyoung. The year after, in 2002, Junghwa and Miyoung get married.

The next eciting thing in Sunghee's life happened in 2005 where she graduated high school and, three months later, attended an audition for CKS Entertainment. It was kind of a surreal experience because the company was just slowly coming to a breakthrough in acceoting and scouting artists, and Sunghee spent 13 hours in a cramped audition hall with at least a 160 other hopeful trainees. Most of all she remembers the face of Cho Kwangsuk who told her she looked really pretty, and jokingly confessed that if she didn't make the cut as a singer, she could always be a model. That never happened, though, as she was phoned a month later by a secretary: She had been accepted.

family »
Mother | Moon Miyoung | 45| Saleswoman | Professional, chatty, bubbly

One look at Sunghee's mother and it's more than clear where the young woman has her looks from: Miyoung looks like an older and more sophisticated version of her daughter, who despite her busy career as a saleswoman in a huge clothing chain in Gangnam always has made time for her daughter and stepson. Her mother isn't very domestic, she's more of a free spirit, but there's no doubt that she truly does love her kids, especially Sunghee whom she has always had a soft spot for. She holds no doubt about her daughter's potential, and supports her fully in her approach for stardom.

Father | Han Wonpil | 49| Firefighter | Honest, noble, adventurous

Despite his marriage with Miyoung not working out in favor of either of them, Wonpil has always had a particular soft spot for his only daughter and his ex-wife. Despite their divorce, Sunghee visits her father whenever she has the time, and their relationship continues to be as great as ever. Wonpil has his doubts about this whole idol-business, murmuring something along the lines of young people wasting away education whenever he thinks Sunghee isn't listening, but she knows he only does it to look out for her, and she continues to brush him off. To shut him off, she has promised to start an education of some sort if she fails, and that's good enough for him.

Stepfather | Lee Junghwa | 47| Dentist | Reserved, philanthropic, taciturn

Sunghee doesn't have anything against her stepfather, but saying that she loves him would be a lie. She... Respects him, and she appreciates all he does for her mother and, ultimately, her, but no matter how hard he tries he's not her real father, and he won't ever be. So they've made a deal: Sunghee stays out of his business if he promises to stay out of theirs, and that's an agreement that proves to be beneficial. Having to deal with one skeptic father figure is more than enough, she doesn't need another one.

Stepbrother | Lee Jiyoung | 17| Student | Clever, confident, annoying

Despite the two of them not having the same father, they sure do bicker as if they share the same blood. They're not a pair of siblings for much mushy talk or encouraging, but they gang up together on their mother or other family members when the other is being treated infairly, and despite their age difference and the fact that he's an annoying little 24 hours a day 365 days a year, Sunghee actually misses the little idiot. A lot.

friends/rivals »
Passion for fashion | Kim Miran | 29 | Coordi-noona | "Oh my God, I love your shoes!", "I know right?!"| Outgoing, friendly, stylish

IFrom the very first moment the two women met each other, something just clicked. Maybe it's Miran's outgoing personality or Sunghee's inability to keep her hands to herself when presented with fabrics or a mannequin, but ever since they met in 2005, they've been nearly as joined by the hip as a staff member and a trainee can be. Whenever Sunghee isn't practising (or when she's ditching her workout session) she's with Miran, just watching her work, sometimes cming with snide comments that may or may not be taken into consideration. It's sometimes hard to differentiate the line between official and personal friendship for the two of them, but it hasn't proven to be a problem yet, and so Sunghee just keeps on disappearing into the house of organized chaos.

Piece of  | Kim Bokyung | 26| Rapping instructor |"Get the blonde one out of here", "Excuse me?"| Self-important, rude, hot tempered

Some say that meeting someone who is essentially just like you means finding your soulmate - whoever came up with that clearly hasn't met Kim Bokyung. He's the most selfish, arrogant and good for nothing prick Sunghee has ever met - and don't give her that look -, and it's probably for the best that Sunghee isn't a rapper. The two of them have a Tom & Jerry relationship, minus the part where the miraculously make up and turn best friends. They don't do that - they'd much rather stick to the smash-your-head-in-with-a-hammer-and-run-thing. Yeah. Sounds good.

Competition- no wait, I mean groupmate | Song Mihoon | 22| Member of V7RTUE | "You need a break?", "Me? Never"Harsh, honest, sarcastic

When Sunghee was accepted into CKS, one of the very first persons she met was the older Mihoon. The two of them have a somewhat competition driven friendship where they subsequently look out for each other because they kind of have to, but where they'll waste no time in constantly proving that they're better than the other. How this is going to go in the future is going to be... Exciting, let's use that word.

the one (?) and only.

love interest » Choi Siwon (Super Junior)

backup love interest » Brian Joo (Fly To The Sky)

personality » If Sunghee's a princess, then Siwon is a king - not a prince, but a king: Wise, kind and responsible. He's mature - more mature than Sunghee is, at least, and maybe that's why they fit together so well. Every time Sunghee's bouncing off the walls with energy or is about to rip somebody's head off in rage, Siwon is the man in charge of making sure she actually doesn't commit homicide. They're polar opposites in many ways, and they fight - Sunghee thinks Siwon's too uptight and Siwon thinks Sunghee acts like a small child, but when all comes down to it there's no doubt that they actually care very much for each other.

love story » Super Junior-M debuted about a month before V7RTUE with "U", and just as the boys were wrapping up their performances, Sunghee and her group came along with "Sunshine". All of the extra rehearsals eventually meant that SIwon and Sunghee spent a great deal of their waiting time together, and although it wasn't love at first sight (be still my beating heart, not all can have a fairytale romance), it didn't take long for the two of them to grow exceptionally close. Of course CKS had the dating ban-thing going on at the time, so the two of them spent two years just being really really close friends before Sunghee was allowed to date.
