How does one make a good and active rp? Many tries. Many fails...I need help and possibly admins

Okay. So this is gonna be a rant/asking for help

I need help. What can you do when you always second guess your choices? Are they the right ones? Will people like them?

The most important question is how do I make my rp entertaining enough that people want to be active. And I don't mean chat groups. Chat groups are nice and all, but I like rping. I like having the interaction and creativeness of rping without actually doing chat groups. I don't want just a common "talk about your day".

If I'm in an rp, I want people to stick to the theme. If it's a hybrid rp, I want everyone to stay in hybrid form, and act like a hybrid.

I guess my biggest issue is the fact that I need a plot. Something fun to keep me entertained.

I just had a good idea for a hybrid rp. But I need people who are gonna rp. Who are not afraid to use the chat groups and make a plot line. You know? I feel Facebook is an easy way to do many rps. But with the security stuff and the like, it's hard to keep things up.

Line rps are harder maybe? Do people just feel self conscious? Are they lazy? Do they just not care? I try so hard. I really do. There can be a multitude of rps going on in one chat group. All people have to do is back read. I don't think it's that hard.

*sighs* So what should I do? What themes would make people the most active? Can I get some help? Just some tips or something.

Thanks guys!

hmmm i know how it is and it's pretty hard to make a rp and then see how it's going down because they just chat or who knows what else they do but not really rp
for now I'm taking care of just one rp, it doesn't have that many members but they go with the plot and everything
maybe you should be a little more strict and if you can't then get an admin that can do it. get your group for simple chat, other for rp and so on and when you see them chatting where they should rp, cold them and remind them for what they joined. some may get mad, others may wake up and actually rp
not sure how much it helped and when you wanna do something, like an event or something else, to see if is the right thing, try asking the members. if they won't reply make it as an activity check so they'll have to tell what they think about your ideas. like that you'll see what they like too and you know what ideas would work and what not ^^

Recently I've used discord to do RPs. It's a nice app and works pretty well. You can make different channels for people to interact and whatnot. It is hard doing RPs, since a lot of people will be shy to be the first to start an interaction. Usually it's nice to have everyone greet one another and then plan how their characters are going to interact. I usually like to test and play around and see the chemistry between their characters and mine. The hardest part is usually how to join and open up to the RP group. I think, once everyone is somewhat settled in and are comfortable, interacting won't be too hard.

Not sure if this helped at all, but yeah, haha.

Ohhhh sounds interesting~~~!! I always have the feeling ooc chats are more active than roleplaying. Maybe people feel like it's difficult to start? Or are afraid

Oooooooo I wanna join! It sounds interesting! I mean you can have a mixture of hybrid and gangster Au right? Like have everyone separate into groups and some will roleplay as gangsters and others, the hybrids and then we can just all go along with the flow!

I only ever use chatzy to RP O,O
What I find helps though is to have a shifting plot. Usually I made a group, and EXO rp, and we'll all come in and have our character we roleplay as--but the plot is constantly change to keep it active. One day we RP high school au, then werewolf, then MAMA powers, etc ^^
