PERSONALITY :　

Freespirited, candid, and confident : When it comes to Cheonsa, what you see is what you get. Cheonsa makes no pretenses about who she is and what she's like, she's proud of it and she's quite in your face with basically every facet of her personality. She's freespirited and believes in live and let live,  unless you don't live and let live in return of course. She can respect anyone's life choices unless those life choices directly hurt others. Part of this is necessity,  she's very quite gay and honestly it would be hypocritical of her not to accept the oddities of others when the fact that she's basically forced into the closet hurts her so. So she keeps an open mind of others and tries not to judge them about things they can't do anything about. 

She's honest and candid and not altogether voluntarily. Cheonsa's face is an open book, everyone can read her mood in an instant. She's a stranger to neutral moods, she's either happy or grumpy or angry, she's never anything understated or neutral. The only time Cheonsa is ever quiet is either when she's sleeping or when she's dancing.

She's also freespirited in the sense that she's independent and doesn't let herself be constrained by the ideals and rules of others.  This, of course, plays directly into her candid and self-centered natured. She doesn't like playing by the rules of society and in a conservative and collectivist culture this rubs people the wrong way. Cheonsa is someone you either love or hate and nothing inbetween. Either you respect or even celebrate what she stands for (staring in the face of convention and blazing her own path as much as the idol life allows her) or you disapprove  of her audacity and refusal to confirm. 

Cheonsa is free to be exactly who she is and that includes her contradictions. She is unapologetically feminine and unapologetically masculine, a unique fusion of both. She can walk around in a beanie, leather jacket, and worn jeans one day and a cute dress and heels another and they are both just as much Cheonsa. She doesn't care if you think it's confusing, if she feels like worn pants she'll wear worn pants and if she feels like a skirt she'll wear a skirt. She can also go from cute and nice in an interview and then on stage become whatever she needs to become for the song to work. And as soon as the performance is over she'll bow and grin and the smol Cheonsa is back.

 

Witty, sarcastic and insolent : Cheonsa is clever and she's very good at using this cleverness to be witty. Sometimes her jokes can hit a wrong note though,  she tends to assume a familiar and informal tone very quickly and her wit can border on mocking and Crosses the border of sarcastic much of the time. In the end she can come off as insolent, she chases as many people away as that she attracts. Honestly Song Cheonsa can be an acquired taste, as present and overbearing as she can be.

She also has some trouble with authority, something that ties in closely to her freespiritedness and lack of tact. Cheonsa tends to just do what Cheonsa does and sometimes she's not as respectful of her elders as she should be. Despite growing up in Korea all her life she still ends up conflicting with Korea's strict laws of interactions and respect for the elders. Cheonsa very much believes in respect earned and not respect automatically given because of superior age. As such she can also be quite the handful for the leader.

 

Self-centered, loyal, and tactless : Before joining Saseum, Cheonsa has always been on her own. She was an only child to parents who never really had time for her and so she grew up quite self-centered. She sometimes forgets that this isn't the Cheonsa show and others have problems too, she's just so focused on her own issues. She's also completely tactless,  she tends to say exactly what's on her mind in the way it comes to her mind, nothing is filtered.  This, together with the fact that what does come to her mind can be rather blunt and sarcastic, means that she's often quick to offend people.

If you can look past her flaws, though, you've got a friend for life. Cheonsa is very loyal in will definitely fight for you if she considers you a close friend and she'll always be there for you. Sometimes you'll just have to be like hey earth to Cheonsa get your head out of your own and then she will help you with whatever you need (and feel terrible for being too self-centered to miss it in the first place)

 

Short-tempered and grudging : it's fairly easy to piss Cheonsa off, she can switch from being in a good mood to being grumpy or angry really quickly, the change is sudden and striking. She's thick skinned when it comes to comments about things she's confident about such as her looks and dance skills, but she's more vulnerable when it comes to the things she's not so confident about, such as her homouality and her singing, and don't even try to be mean to her group mates she will rip you a new one.

Cheonsa can hold a grudge like the best of them. Especially if someone is a to her group mates or if someone makes homophones comments, she has a zero tolerance policy for both of those things and will quickly completely write someone off for either of those. ism is also an offense, though less so than homophones when it's casual.  Either way Cheonsa can be fierce when it comes to a grudge, as she can be fierce about most things in her life.

 

 

BACKGROUND :　Cheonsa was born to a very rich family, newly rich too. Her parents had created the company from the ground up, from when it was just a tiny insurance company working exclusively with farmers to the large insurance empire it is today. Cheonkook Insurance was very much their combined baby, well, until they actually got a combined baby: Cheonsa.

Knowing that her parents hardly ever had time for her it might be easy to see how some of her traits developed. She was always asking for attention that her parents didn't have time to give her, and for a big part of her life she worked hard to be everything her parents wanted her to be, conforming to all the ideas of a perfect little daughter.  And then her teenage years came along and she decides, thst, she's done bending over backwards to be a girl she's not just so her parents will smile and say good girl and get back to their busy lives.

And so she stopped and started to rebel. She cut her hair, started be a smartass in school, changed her dance classes from proper ballet to hip hop, and generally did things that rebellious teenagers did. Still it didn't have the desired effect, she got the same amount of attention as before except that no instead of attention good girl she got a sigh and an annoyed comment. Couldn't she behave for once? What had happened to the proper girl she was before? She should be too good for a common teenage rebellion. They were so very disappointed in her. 

Now she was 16 with no idea what to do and was struggling with identity issues to boot. Needless to say she was struggling and things weren't exactly going as planned. Rebelling wasn't having the desired effect and nothing felt right. No thst wasn't true, dancing was the only thing that felt right. She loved hip hop and that was the one thing she had no regrets about. So, if that was the only thing in her life that felt right, why not focus on that? Give herself over entirely to dance? Yes it was an impulsive decision but it felt right (and also being a sheltered rich kid she could afford making stupid impulsive decisions). Plus her parents hated the entertainment industry so two flies, one stone and all. And that is how Cheonsa decided to become an idol.

 

 

LIKES :

DISLIKES :

▸ Cheonsa doesn't know how to do , she's a rich girl through and through. When she first moved into the dorms she didn't even know how to clean a surface or do laundry. Her fellow trainees helped her a lot with this but she still really doesn't like doing chores (and she's also still prone to stupid mistakes such as washing whites with colours, Cheonsa NO)
▸ ist gender roles. If she looks girly one day and boyish the next then that's what she's gonna do. Leave your judgment at the door.
▸ Car rides, they actually scare her a little but she won't admit that. she'll just grip the door tightly and pretend to be fine.
▸ Homophobia
▸ Tea, it's just slighty flavored water.

HABITS :

▸ She tugs at her hair when she sees a beautiful woman and gets the dokis. Whenever she flirts she's always touching her hair.

▸ Hugging a pillow to her chest when talking about serious things because she needs something to do with her hands and it's comforting.

▸ When she's totally concentrated on something the tip of her tongue pokes out of .

 

HOBBIES :

▸ Dancing. It started with ballet from a young age which she didn't enjoy so much as something that she was used to having to do. Then she switched to hip hop and it opened her eyes to what dance could really mean for her. Freedom of expression,  something that ballet could never be. Now she loves it having the freedom to move any way she is able is something she cherishes forever and she does enjoy free styling more than she does following choreographies. She excels in B-Girlig especially.

 

TRIVIA :

▸ She's def very gay and not very subtle about it either, she often gets the dokis around beautiful women,  but because of Korea's head in the sand mentality hardly anyone ever notices that there's something queer about Cheonsa. 

▸ She hasn't come out to anyone yet. She's been too scared to come out to even her closest Saseum friends because so much depends on it, what if they don't accept her and all their teamwork falls away? At least that's what she rationally thinks, but really she's just terrified they won't accept her. It would break her.

▸ She believes in God but is disillusioned by the church.

▸ She likes to maintain a youtube page with  dance videos.

▸ She hasn't gotten her driver's license yet because she's scared of riding in cars. Strangely buses are fine it's just cars.

▸ When asked her ideal type she says Song Joongki because you cannot go wrong with Song Joongki. That's the most hetero choice she can think of.

▸ She's really awkward when it comes to guys and skinship because she feels she should be more reserved but she isn't because guys don't do anything for her, but then she overcompensates.

Cheonsa's parents were hardly ever around when she grew up, and when they were they had their head in company business. There was a time where Cheonsa did anything to get the attention of her parents but she's given up since. Now the only attention she ever gets is when she's disappointed them. They still don't approve og Cheonsa's choice to become an idol and Cheonsa revels in that. She's gonna do her own thing and they can it.

TRAINING BG : 2 Years at Saseum

While Cheonsa had had quite a bit of dance experience, she had zero vocal training at all so she had to get all of that from scratch, and it was tough on her. She's still insecure about her singing skills.

 

Dorm life was tough on little Cheonsa who was born with a silver spoon and never had to do any work in her life. How does one laundry?? How does one cook food??? She didn't even know how to make her own bed it was pretty pathetic. Without the help of her fellow trainees Cheonsa probably would not have made it very long.

 

Honestly as hard as it all was, training and learning to live alone and all that, Cheonsa wouldn't trade it in for anything. Thanks to her training period she got a new family, one that was infinitely better than her actual family, and she cherishes them forever, at least in different degrees. While she doesn't always get along with all of them, she certainly cares more for them than her actual family so there's that.

why did you want to be an idol? : 

▸ "Honestly at first it was a way to get back at my parents. You know, find the profession they'd hate the most and go with it? But now I actually really love dancing, especially freestyle, and there's this wonderful sense of being a team that comes with being an idol. I've never felt as at home anywhere before in my life."

why did you pick saseum entertainment? : 

▸ "I.. ehm.... was walking through the entertainment area of Seoul and Saseum was the first office building I saw.... I probably shouldn't say that in interviews should I?"

which sunbae do you admire most?: 

▸ "In Saseum I really admire Aeli for her dancing skills and fierceness. The FIRE guys are also great dancers and they seem fun guys to hang out with. Looking outside of the company I'd have to say Gfriend for having really great dances but staying true to their feminine nature, I really respect that."
