— thoughts & opinions...
( Tell Me How You Feel; My Feelings Won't Be Hurt )

username (alias) : kyoungie
Character, stage name : Ahn Miok, mio
mentor : Song sena

favorite song : time's up (later it becomes Girls)
honorable mentions : circle, rough, U R Fired
least favorite song : check
honorable mentions : hot summer nights,  back hug

favorite concept : Lionheart is her absolute favorite concept - she adored the outfits and hair accessories they got to wear on stage. plus it was one of the times they could show both a sweet and powerful presense at the same time.
least favorite concept : Mr. chu - mostly because she really did get it. Was it a tennis theme? A colorful theme? innocent school girl theme? Not that she didn't enjoy the outfits! But she just didn't know what to think of it as much as the others..."Why is that so important Mio?" "Because...well I don't know, but you asked me a question and I needed an answer!"

songs they may have written : Mio doesn't feel she does well with written words herself initially.  She's also not entirely certain of her ability to pen down music for the words others give her until about pink blossom. Her first real dive is Smoothie and airplane where she actively helped in the composition process with Sena's encouragement, as well as assisting with some parts lyrically.

Other songs she may have had a hand in:
ping
A/Someone like you
Traveler
you think
I'll teach you
Light me up
When the cherry blossoms fade
Remember

(and more or less as you deem fit!)

Don't be shy by far is the song she worked the hardest on, and spent many sleepless nights working on it.

activities they would be interested in : Variety, MCing, and song composition/writing (even if she's not writing the lyrics, she'd love to be the one who puts music behind the words others write).

thoughts on stardust : after what felt like the biggest letdown of not being able to debut with EvoL, stardust is like a dream to Mio. Or it is initially. Miok is determined not to let her groupmates down, and to show everyone her addition is the right decision (even though no one is asking for that from her). truthfully, miok would have been content studying music and either being a teacher or working in the industry. If her sister hadn't failed and given up, she  might not have been where she is today. Miok is carrying both hers and her sister's dreams, and Stardust is the culmination of that. And now that her dreams include five other girls, various label mates, and those who watch over them, it feels like less a burden and something she can share with others. She holds them all dearly for this.

Stardust's concept is a 180 from what Miok was used to at first. She was training to be in Evol or another group stardom might decide to debut. And while no one can argue Miok can pull off a fierce and powerful persona, she definitely feels more at home with the sweeter, feminine concept. Don't get her wrong: she had a blast with you think, pulling in her training roots, but she enjoys their sweeter concept initially. She is very happy though when they can show their versatile side, and appreciates a change in pace. This becomes especially true once she develops her own skills and finds different, more versatile concepts show off their developing musical maturity more.

      ( Shimin : Shi Min )
thoughts & opinion : "minnie-unnie, what can I do today?"

truthfully, Miok was a little intimidated by Min initially. There was a slight language barrier, and miok had to wonder if she wasn't pestering min too much. But after getting to know her, Min is someone Miok tries her best to support since like her she is a a transplant from another country, but unlike miok she doesn't have the advantage of being fluent and fully korean.. She recognizes that Min, despite being one of the more introverted members of stardust, is central to their group as their leader, and she knows min must go through a lot to do so.

behavior : if Miok is confused or concerned, the first person she goes to in their group is Min. Miok relies on Min to be their guide in situations where she doesn't know what to do. She's mindful of her role, and listens actively, though sometimes she misses what Min is trying to say and sometimes messes up those instructions. She is always sincerely apologetic, and quick to smile and try to get min to laugh off any worries or problems if she can. Miok absolutely hates seeing Min frustrated at herself, and works very hard to distract her from those thoughts. miok is constantly trying to be on good terms with min, and can often be seen asking her questions on schedules, what they're doing, and overall taking an interest in her role in an effort to show support and affection towards their leader.
      ( Aria : Kim Aeri )
thoughts & opinion : *you must imagine her singing the first syllable "Ae~, come over and try this."

If asked, Mio will say she almost wanted to cry at how pretty Aeri was (is). But Miok genuinely likes Aeri, and relies on her to keep her grounded at times. Despite this, sometimes she felt a little awkward around her because she assumed Aeri was a cool, calm...at least when they first met that is. But what Miok learned early on that Aeri not a stoic pretty face: the girl can be an absolute goof at times. Plus: they're same age friends! After this revelation, Mio is very open around aeri without too much fear of insulting her or the like. Miok is always impressed by Aeri's versaility, and doesn't deny if she could be one member for a day, she'd pick Aeri.

behavior : Miok has an easy going way with Aeri. while at first, miok seemed a little awkward with her, that has long since faded. it's not uncommon for miok to be cooking something and for her to call out for aeri to try whatever she is making, or to see her excitedly grabbing her arm and laughing about something. that being said, Miok is very cognizant not to press her luck too much with Aeri if she knows the other is having a bad day. Instead, she is more prone to making a fool of herself if it means getting Aeri to laugh with her.
      ( Mio : Ahn Miok )
thoughts & opinion : "Eh? Do you want me to talk about myself?"

behavior : "Oh! Well I-AH!" Mio cries out as she runs into a table.
      ( Chaewon : Kwon Chaewon )
thoughts & opinion : "Chaewonnie, let's work hard today!"

Maybe it was that Miok subconciously sensed their similarities, but miok holds an affection for chaewon as they often find themselves being the spokespeople of the group on shows and in some interviews. out of the group, Miok interacts with chaewon the best in public functions, and they often just hang around the other outside of that just for company. Their conversations are never truly lacking. Miok is often in awe of Chaewon's dancing, and often wishes she would acknowledge her strengths more often. suok often tells Miok that chaewon is one of her favorite people to watch dance at school.

behavior : chAT, talk, talk, laugh, joke, MORE LAUGH, JOKE, TALK, GASP FOR AIR. cHAEWON nevers ceases to make Miok laugh. as of the resident variety idols, they play well off each other and there's rarely a dull moment when they're around. While sometimes Chaewon appears to be the more grounded of the two, there are times when Miok puts on the older female hat, and has to listen to chaewon and encourage her.  out of all of her groumates, miok feels like she needs to support chaewon the most, and happily joins her for most activities.
      ( Evie : Choi Yubi )
thoughts & opinion : "Yubi-ah~ Don't make that face~"

They had to tell Miok three times that yes, Yubi is younger than her, and yes, she really was that girl in dream high. After the initial shock, Miok thought Yubi was a very cool junior, and someone she could probably rely on to keep her head on straight. But she does think Yubi could stand to be less rigid, and has no qualms trying to bring that out in her. She has great respect for Yubi's more creative abilities as well as her acting.

behavior : With the way Yubi acts, sometimes it really looks like it's Miok who's the younger girl. And miok doesn't mind this dynamic too much so long as it's not burdensome to Yubi. However, there are distinct times when Miok does think yubi is being too serious, and has to work to lighten Yubi up, and the fact that she's older often aids her in this. As with many of the younger members in amour, Miok will dote and give in on most requests made of her by yubi.
      ( Yuni : Kim Yeoreum )
thoughts & opinion : "oh no, what trouble are you getting me into this time, yeoreummie?"

Unlike with Yubi, no one had to tell Miok Yeoreum was younger than her. Miok thought Yeoreum was adorable, and easy to joke and laugh with. She reminds her of a hyper puppy, and she even calls her this sometimes. Miok really enjoys having yeoreum around as it usually means a never dull moment. Miok is always impressed with Yeoreum's voice and wouldn't mind writing a song just for her one day. Also a student at hanlim, suok often comments if yeoreum somehow channeled her energy into dancing, she'd probably be unstopable and a scary thing to behold.

behavior : oh yeoreum. Miok's hyper active puppy. Miok can't help but indulge Yeoreum. She understands yeoreum generally means no harm in her antics, and will happily go along with them so long as no one will be hurt by it. Yeoreum makes miok smile, and she doesn't mind being yeoreum's 'willing victim'. While it's rare to ever see Miok lose her temper with Yeoreum, she will if pushed far enough pull yeoreum aside, away from the others, to have a serious talk. These moods rarely last long however, and it doesn't take much for the pair to be laughing and having fun together again.
      ( Manager Park : Park Seojun )
thoughts & opinion :
Miok found Seojun to be increadibly likeable, despite a rather rough first meeting (it was in the morning and he probably had a rough day!). It's no decret in the Ahn household that her sister is head over heels for this guy...based on pictures alone. Calling him the 'flower boy manager Park'. She's seen his more affectionate side, and miok knows depsite some abruptness or curt responses, he's a goof on the inside.

behavior : Miok would best be classified as the sweet, younger sister who usually gets her way by naivety and the brother not wanting her to get into trouble, so he does as she asks. Its not something she does on purpose mind you. They have an understanding that if Miok is asking about it, it is usually a genuine question, so he is usually less abrasive with his answers towards her. In a situation where the group is in disarray, Miok is instantly looking for Seojun as a guide to what to do next.

      ( Manager Oh : Oh Sora )
thoughts & opinion :
Miok sees a lot of her sister, Suok, in Sora.  As such, Miok has an underlying fondness for her. in a male dominated industry, sora, much like much of amour, breaks the mold and is one of their managers. Miok respects the hard work and dedication sora puts towards their well being.

behavior :
much like many of the other girls, miok views sora as an older sister figure. She tries to not be a burden to her and makes it a point to keep the dorm tidy to keep sora from getting too much of a headache from living with a bunch of younger females. again, miok sees suok in sora, and treats her as such with the same affection and respect. But they share an easy going relationship and miok definitely feels less burdened when sora is around.
      ( Ms. Nam : Nam Hyeri )
thoughts & opinion : What a strong woman. Those were her first thoughts upon meeting Hyeri/Ms. Nam. She was a little intimidated at first since she was first scouted on the streets, and was auditioning while still in Stardom as a trainee. Miok was suprised with how she sat her down, after the audition, and actually talked with her about her interests in the music world outside of just being an idol. Miok has since had an immense amount of respect for Ms. Nam, and finds her to be an inspiration.

behavior : While internally Miok does not want to disappoint Ms. Nam, it isn't something she shows outwardly. She acts like an untroubled, hard working idol in front of hyeri for fear of being the weak link in their group. However, deep down, she knows Ms. Nam is much wiser than she is, and probably can see past the act to hide her insecurities. It takes time for Miok to open up more to Ms Nam for fear she would be replaced. But eventually, Ms. Nam is the one she feels enables her the most to grow musically and creatively.
( Axis : The First Boy Group )
thoughts & opinion : Miok always has affection for the other members of per7, especially since she was added later and accepted into the group without too much issue. She sees them as extended family much of the time, and at anytime you can find Miok cooking or otherwise feeding them. As for the other, newer members, Miok was one of thefirst to greet them and was eager to welcome them to their label. she is very grateful to the newer members since they being there is what enabled axis to finally debut as well. Miok's affection for this group never ceases.

funny note: due to Miok's gullibility, when they appear together on variety or talk shows, before she can say something silly or get dragged into an embarassing game, it's not uncommon for the members of axis to suddenly jump in to "mio protection squad" mode to keep it from h. Tumblr has a field day with these moments.

behavior :

Sunho - Get these two on a variety show together, and magic happens. Their lighthearted banted comes easily and they seem to get along well enough. he is the only male member of amour's acts that is older than her sans Alex, so he is like an older brother to her, though he is not neccesarily the first person she seeks out in axis.

Alex - miok and alex got off to a slightly rocky start at first. This was due to the language barrier, and they had a difficult time understanding each other. however, after getting closer to Aeri, Miok found herself getting to know alex more. while some might be put off by alex's attitude at times, miok usually shrugs it off and resumes her attempts at being friendly with him. she is ceaselessly patient with repeating herself as needed when communicating with him...though how effective each time actually is, is up to the situation and the availability of one of the english speakers in Amour.

Jaehyun - Miok can understand the hardship jaehyun must have gone through by being considered for a line up and not having it actually happen. that formed the intial basis of their relationship. The next piece was his friendship with song sena, her mentor. Miok is increadibly fond of jaehyun and out of then newer members of Axis, she is closest to him.

hiro - the pair of hiro and mio is well known in and out of amour. out of everyone in the compnay, Miok is closest to hiro (with exception of the other members of stardust at times). he is one of the few people Miok feels she can genuinely open up about her insecurities and fears to, and she would hope he feels the same. Aside from that, seeing the pair stomping about amour, just laughing, is a pretty common sight. At any given time, Miok might revert to japanese when speaking to him in private. Miok's sister refers to him as "Ito-kun".

Hangil - Miok's optimism often silver lines any of hangil's pessimism, and they get along well in most situations. It isn't uncommon to see hangil teasing miok or critiquing her, particularly when they have a moment and are working on music together. their bond grows more when later in her career she begins being more active in composition, so the pair spend more time together. he takes full advantage of her naivete though, and the results are often humourous. Like sunho, together on variety it's magic.

Minsoo - As a younger member of axis, Miok does try to look out for minsoo. However, she finds she and him never seemed to connect in the way she does with Hiro, jaehyun, or even sunho. They aren't neccessarily uncomfortable around each other. More like...they have little to converse about unless Junseok is with them. However, Suok is fond of him at hanlim, and never ceases to praise him. Eventually, like with wonshik, they develop a calm sort of understanding until those quiet moments are content and easy.

notable relations : hiro, hangil, alex, Jaehyun

( Alice : The Second Girl Group )
thoughts & opinion : Miok was very intimidated by Alice when she first heard about their joining amour. She is well acquainted with paradox, and can even karaoke some of their older songs. she definitely has a lot of respect for them as a powerful vocal group with talented ladies in it. She views them as sometimes people she can learn from, and as a warning of what can happen when the industry doesn't take care of their own. Jaehyun and Sunho also fall into this category. Her respect for their ability to bounce back from disbandment can't be questioned, and she still sings their newer songs in karaoke.

behavior :

Skylar - on sheer respect, skylar ranks among min and hyeri in miok's eyes. While they may not interact all the time, miok thinks sky is amazing for being able to pull their group back together despite everything that has happened. They have a good relationship, and are friendly towards each other.

Clarissa - Hiro once dubbed clarissa the 'bane of Mio's existence' due to how intimidated and uncomfortable miok feels around her. She is one of the few people miok has to force herself to be happy and easy going around. This is due to her often being compared to the other girl since they both came from stardom at one point. There could also be some smidge of jealousy due to clarissa's relationship with taeilmiok would never fess up to. She insists she doesn't dislike clarissa...more so, she just doesn't know what to do around her. Clarissa probably doesn't care, and may even notice and get a little chuckle at the awkwardness between them.

Jinah - wow. Miok only has that word for jinah. beauty and talent. Not to mention she is similar to yeoreum, and their relationship is similar...though in this case, jinah is deinfitely not miok's junior, and their frienship is more like silly girlfriends.

Lucy - next to hiro and maybe the members of stardust, lucy became one of miok's best friends in amour. the immiedately hit it off and someone once said they were the alpha and omega of the year 93 due to their birthdates. While both very similar in personality at times, lucy is by far the more defiant, loud of the pair. Bjt they compiment each other, and despite being both unnie and dongsaeng, sunbae and hoobae, they act like same age friends and equals. woe to someone who hurts miok when lucy is around. Lucy also has a habit of teaching miok english...usually curse words and swears much to the horror of the nglsih speaking group in amour (and sometimes total amusement of alex).

notable relations : Lucy

( Imbue : The Second Boy Group )
thoughts & opinion : imbue was a pleasant surprise for Miok. She was very happy to hear they were debuting (especially after the Jo Jinho incident). Miok always felt a little guilty not seeing wonshik and junseok debuting, but couldn't be happier about the group they ended up debuting in. she can't really bring herself to treat them as juniors within the company since many of them should have debuted sooner or have been there just as long as her or longer.

behavior :

peyton - out of imbue, miok sometimes seems least close to petyon, but not because of any negativity. truthfully, outside of when he's with hiro or at company functions, she never really interacted with him much. Later though, if Peyton is feeling unsure or down, Miok is one of the first to give him a pep talk and words of encouragement. she tends to judge him the least for his lack of commitement or action on things, appreciating the underlying passion he actually has for what he does.

Wonshik - why are these two friends? No one really knows. But it somehow works between them. In the beginning, it was always, "Wonshikie, smile!" "Wonshike, are you okay today?" "Wonshikie, how was your evening?" Truth be told, her incessant attempts at being friendly with him put him off at first. However, miok never pried much deeper than this, and actually respects wonshik's desire for dpace more than others realize. It's gotten to the point now that they can be comfortable in silenc with each other, and when she's not there checking on him, he finds he actually misses it just a little bit.

Junseok - Also known as her sister's favorite student, junseok never fails at getting Miok to laugh or smile, even when she's at her most down. Due to his closeness to her sister at hanlim, he may be the most familiar with miok's family life (sans maybe hiro). At one point, miok made the poor decision to teach junseok some japanese cheers, and to this day will still be greeted by him with random japanese phrases, words, and garbled nonsense. But if she had to choose a little brother, it would be junseok.

Myungsoo - much like with yubi, Miok finds herself giving the younger male quite a bit of attention since she hates seeing him so irritable and cranky when it happens. she thinks he's a kind boy, and something of a kindred spirit since they both come from musical families. However, she really grows closer with him once she befriends soorin, and he soon falls into younger brother category like junseok.

notable relations : Wonshik and Junseok

      ( Feli : Felicity Kwon )
thoughts & opinion : "Feli-ah! come with unnie to get snacks!"
Miok simply finds Feli to be gorgeous and endearing. She is always impressed by Feli's talent, and never hesitiates to tell her so. Miok fully expected Feli to debut with them, and was quite surprised when she wasn't selected. Nevertheless, Miok never hada doubt that feli would be something successful one day, and is happy she was around to see it.

behavior : Miok has dubbed herself Feli's number one unnie fan, and never ceases to lavish affection on her. She's certain she must annoy feli at times, and pretends she doesn't notice it. If Feli does have a bad opinion of her, Miok shrugs it off, and continues to be positive and supportive because that's what everyone needs. Unlike her relationship with Yeoreum where she is often the willing victim, Miok knows feli proably tolerates her and is her own willing victim at times.

      ( Other : Anybody Else? )
thoughts & opinion of song sena : impressed. simply impressed. Sena is so young, has been a aprt of a girl group, and is now a songwriter and producer for a label. had miok not been pursuing being an idol, song sena is who she would have liked to have been (and truthfully, miok would like to pursue this line of work when her idols days are over in any event).

behavior : utmost respect and reverance. if Miok is having a tough time with a song, she defers to sena for guidance if able, and noticeably sobers up when around sena. Next to Hiro and hangil, Miok will talk music theory, critique, and other topics with sena that others might not readily hear. When Acadia debuts its project, she is one of sena's biggest supporters and never misses a chance to see their performances or speak highly of them.
      ( Other : Anybody Else? )
thoughts & opinion of so soorin : Miok has been light acadia fan for a little while. Her sister, Suok, is actually a very big fan and apparently almost cried when they disbanded. Suok kept track of all of the members activities, including supporting the solo debuts and watching any dramas or movies they appeared in. Don't even get her started on how she reacted when she found out Miok's mentor was none other than Sena of Acadia.  So by default, Miok had a elevated opinon of Acadia in many ways.

Aside from that, Miok found Soorin to be very striking and interesting. She was introduced to her via Myungsoo upon Acadia's joining of Amour for the project group, and the two hit it off pretty quickly (being same age friends and multi talented helped them connect). They formed a fast friendship, and she considers soorin one of her confidants later in her career.

behavior : Miok gives Soorin proper respect as a sunbae initially, and Soorin is endeared by Miok. But soon enough, they become close friends, often seen hanging out in their off time once Soorin joins amour.
