Japan's Earthquake

All the news tonight is all about the 8.8 magnitude earthquake that Japan has received earlier today. When I was over at my friend's house, we all watched the news and we were terrifed with the videos, pictures and stories of people who survived the earthquake. I explained to my friends the probabilty and effects of the earthquake and tsunami towards our country. We told each other that we would pray for their safety.

The earthquake shocked the whole world and everyone is mourning and praying for the safety of the people there, with or without friends or relatives in the country. I know that the earthquake affected not only countries in Asia. It's very powerful to even affect some Northern American countries. For those of you who don't know, Philippines is in the ring of fire. Meaning, chances that we will experience a powerful earthquake is high. But I hoped it won't happen... yet. I

And when I came home to check my tumblr, to my shock, I can't believe what I saw. I saw posts about how people were happy to see that our country was affected. I was pissed. Of course who wouldn't. They say we are too proud of our race. Well, duh. We're Filipinos. We love our country and we love your race. Don't you love yours too?! I can't believe people would hate us just because we're proud of what we are.

People say we're worthless and we aren't supposed to be prayed with such countries like Japan and US. It's stupid how people don't see how hardworking and religious Filipinos are. FYI, Philippines is the country with most Roman Catholics. We pray for Japan even if we don't have any friends relatives there. Also, sure we're not as advanced as Japan and US, but have you ever wondered who makes their technology? Every country has a Filipino, working for their family that they left here in our country.

We are living in a third world country. We pray for those who have suffered more than us. I'm not supposed to care to those haters, but I just couldn't help but be annoyed how shallow others can be. We just don't pray and care for Japan and Asia, we pray and care for the world.

Lastly, please pray for Japan. For the souls who have left us, for the bodies that are still yet to find, for the people who have lost friends and relatives, for the heroes and for the safety for the country. Also, pray not just for your country, not just for Asia, but for the world. It doesn't matter which fandom you belong, what country do you come from, what your race is and religion is. Let's just be united and pray for everyone.

True. All we do is pray and wish that Japan would overcome this situation and all I see for some people to wish Filipinos would die.

That's just plain racism...
It's not fair for them to think that we Filipinos are like that. Who are they to say such things? Confidence is often mistaken for being proud. There is no harm in loving our country and doing what is best for it.
We Filipinos work damn hard, maybe even harder than others.
Whoever said those things should have just kept shut and prayed for everyone's safety.
