iKon rant&ramble....

Because of Bobby's diss tracks and clips of B.I using violence (bullying) against s, I immediately tried to avoid iKon at all costs. I remembered just seeing articles about them and I'll roll my eyes without checking out the articles. But recently I've created a applyfic boy group (this blog isn't about promoting them so don't worry xD) under Tablo's label Highground which is a sub-label under YG. And if you don't know iKon is under YG. And though I love Big Bang, 2NE1, and Winner I just for some reason couldn't get myself to like iKon. And no, I did not watch WIN, where they went against Winner to get to debut first. I got into Winner through Weekly Idol just because I tend to watch every group. But my hate for iKon started to disperse as I continued to do research for Highgrnd and YG. Finally,

I decided to listen and watch iKon's debut MV "Rhythm Ta" then all of a sudden I found myself at their debut stage and was again impressed with the song and how stable they sounded live. Then I got into other clips of them and then there's Bihwan.... But that's another story xD But I looked up their profile and it didn't take more then ten minutes to recognize who's who. Like normally new fans would say "but they all look the same?", trust me if you've been part of K-pop for a while, it doesn't take long to remember and recognize all members xD Not just iKon, even larger groups like Seventeen, Topp Dogg, and such.

All in all I can't call or consider myself an ikonic yet but...B.I just captures my attention....He has some of those traits I look for in a man and also we shared the same birthday. I remembered seeing the article that it was his birthday and I read that it was on the same day as me, as someone who used to hate ikon back then you can guess I went crazy. I was like "OF ALL IDOLS WHY MUST I SHARE A BIRTHDAY WITH THE IDOL I HATE THE MOST?!" But what do you know? He's not so bad. B.I also has dimples and from the clips I've seen he's also very into animals (I love men who aren't afraid of animals..., that doesn't mean I don't like Grandpa Sunggyu when he first encountered the goat in India and needed protection from our Rap God Minho xD). Also for someone who's fourth in terms of age, he has some strong leadership skills. And last he somewhat looks like Tablo (at least to me and I always thought our Tablo was handsome, Haru's handsome daddy) and has the voice of G-D! I swear before I first heard him talk I thought his voice was going to be deep, and in the MV I thought his voice was swap with Bobby but that wasn't the case. 

Lastly, I don't think it's the whole truth but I wanted to give my girls Lovelyz some thanks for taking away some of my hate toward iKon and especially B.I. Why? Because there was a scene where B.I was singing Lovelyz's Ah-choo (of course he changed the lyrics to fit his dog's name and such in it) but for some reason I thought it was really adorable. Thanks to me watching idols that sings Lovelyz's songs that I was able to somewhat come to like B.I. 

Hm, that's all I got to say about iKon.... So next time if you see me watching iKon, just don't be surprise xD Since I was very vocal about not liking iKon in the past >_<

I'm glad you gave ikon a 2nd chance! I know they have a lot of hate (because of a lot of rumors) but they're like really sweet boys who I swear have such a delicate heart. I took at first didn't care about them because of the diss thrown at Ravi, but I had to acknowledge that the rap was good xD and actually why I got more into ikon xD

I hope more people can have a change of heart as well, because they're not these rude s that many people think they are, they're just so misunderstood.

This is soooooo relatable!! I used to hate iKON as well, based off the things that you saw in the media and especially when Bobby dissed Ravi/VIXX as I am a Starlight. I was just pissed and didn't want to get to know iKON anymore. I think it was the MV 'Born Hater' that pulled me over and I was exposed to some of the iKON members for the first time and I had to admit they ARE pretty talented. In fact: I think the vocals if iKON are even better than the vocals if WINNER. Thinking all this time I would love WINNER (trust me, I tried really hard to like their songs, but they were all just so flat and dull without any memorable vocals) I ended up loving iKON instead. All good fun though, because my bestie ended up liking WINNER instead and still dislikes iKON for reasons I'm not really sure of. LMAO.

AH I will never support iKON even if I can happily admit that some of their songs are good (they doing just like Big Bang, of course the songs are fun). But I can't Stan a group who bullies and disrespects other groups, it's not right (their constant dissing, making fun of GFriend for their accident, and Bobby's plagiarizing lyrics). But each to their own!

iKon are realllly talented, have you seen their live stage of Apology? They're so stable live, it even surprised me and I've been a fan since WIN XD
wow ok i talk a lot XD ik you're into them now, i just had this rant for a while and hopefully some haters may read this and think a little bit before hating a group for some rumors without even looking them up... Anyways welcome to iKon xD i hope to see you become an iKonic one day xD

Ok first can i say thank you for being open minded and giving them a chance? XD it's just I've seen so many people hating on them only because of a few rumors and not willing to even try to get to know the real story behind them. As someone who's never stanned a YG group before i've got to say that iKon really surprised me xD when iKon was up for the best rookie group at the Mamas a lot of people were angry saying that they only got it for their popularity and that SVT really deserved it since they produce their songs and dances themselves (i'm not hating on SVT, cause i'm a fan as well and i know how talented they are xD) but what people fail to realize or aknowledge is that iKon actually write songs as well (B.I and Bobby actually helped produce Winner's debut song!) and ik you said you haven't seen WIN, but have you watched team B (iKon without Chanwoo)'s final stage? Their original song, , is still one of my favorite kpop songs to date xD
as for Bobby's diss tracks, tbh dissing is a big part of rapping, especially in SMTM; Bobby and B.I were dissed countless times for being 'idol rappers' themselves. Bobby worked really hard to break those prejudices and win the season, yet again haters only brought up the diss tracks and tried to bring him down again.
Now about B.I bullying Chanwoo, i think once you've been in kpop enough you tend to realize that the maknaes hardly ever get bullied, they're usually the ones bullying the hyungs xD that being said i don't agree with B.I's actions in that vid, but we have to realize he's human as well. He may have just been playing, or he could have been going through something and lashed out at a friend because of it, we've all done it before... If people were to see WIN and M&M they would know that B.I was under a LOT of pressure as the leader. I wish people would be a little open minded and think about why B.I may have acted like he did.

I saw the video of BI and i know a lot of girls were upset by it but.....I just feel like he was playing. to me it looked like boys being boys. Not saying it's great, but from what I have seen of boys playing, they are rough with each other. they hit each other hard and its still just playing to them.
thats just my interpretation
