In NCT U's recent airing of 'ON AIR NCT SHOW - Day 2' through the group's live 'V' app channel, member Taeyong referred to his past scamming controversy.

During the airing, the NCT U members had good things to say about Taeyong, such as"He's good at giving us serious advice. If there's something we're doing wrong, he tells us straight up."

To this, Taeyong replied, "When I was younger I made a mistake with some wrong actions, so I thought that I would like for the members and dongsaengs I love to not make the same mistakes. So I like to let them know what I know. I don't want them to become like me."

Back in 2014, Taeyong was the center of a scamming controversy, where netizens exposed various accounts of the idol, then in middle and high school, lying to sell broken or damaged figurines, charging unreasonable prices, and cursing at people who tried to receive a refund. Due to a flurry of angered netizens, SM Entertainmenthad issued an apology on behalf of Taeyong, with, "Taeyong is deeply reflecting on the mistakes he made during his middle school days. We apologize to everyone who may have suffered negatively. We will work hard to raise Taeyong into an artist with good character and great skills."

In light of NCT U's recent debut, Taeyong's past controversy has recently resurfaced among fans and netizens. While some are criticizing the revitalization of the controversy with, "It seems like people are making such a big deal out of an ignorant mistake in the past", some netizens continue to bash Taeyong's "character".

What do you make of the idol's controversy resurfacing after debut?
