IN A NUTSHELL
the boy who sits behind you kicking your chair everyday and sticking out his tongue at you when you turn around to glare at him, the one who annoys you to no end with his immature comments and lame jokes, the boy who seems to grow more good-looking as he grows older, much to your indignation - that's son sangjun.
MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE
despite sangjun's seemingly 'don't-carish' attitude that he tries oh-so-hard to carry with him for the sake of being well, "cool", most would be surprised by the amount of enthusiasm stored in him (yes, i'm talking about him in math class... sangjun just might be one of the only players on the lacrosse team appearing so enthusiastic when answering a question on quadratic equations on the board.) sangjun is relatively an optimist, although don't get me wrong - he has his Emo Moments™ too, of course (in which instead of throwing his usual big tamtrums he shuts up completely and refuses to speak - which obviously means something's out of place considering how much of a chatterbox sangjun is.) he's also that guy - the one who offers to buy everything for everyone, making everyone think that he has a pocket of gold when in reality he's just willing to spend his average allowance on everyone. he comes to school with the weirdest objects, shouts a lot, and can never sit still, dismaying most of the student population who have to suffer the fate of sitting near him. he behaves as if he's on a sugar rush more than not, and while he insists this is just 'in his nature', some find it rather attention-seeking (which is why the topic of son sangjun is controversial!!!!! lol) speaking of this point, sangjun cares about his popularity more than he lets on. it's okay, he doesn't have to be the most popular guy in the level or anything - his brother hyunwoo might have been near that status, but for now, that's just.. goals. he does things without thinking most of the time - a pity since if he actually puts his mind to use more, sangjun's actually capable of doing really great things. he tends to overplay himself way too much, which makes him all the more more irksome since he has the ego of a whale (no offence whales,,,,,) but after all, there is one trait that he and his brother share that people lack to see in him - diligence. hyunwoo's known as the reliable ox, the shoulder for the team to lean on. sangjun - okay, so he might be a little more irresponsible and a little less unthinking (okay, who am i kidding - a lot less unthinking), but sangjun's hardworking too! really.... he's not as lazy as he puts himself out to be. if only he would get his together... (as quoted by the sons' mom) sangjun would actually be a blessing to this world.... but for now, he's just a pest.

PROLOGUE: THE MAKING
son sangjun was born to son jaewon and min dowon on november 23rd, just a day after their second child, son hyunwoo celebrated his first birthday. sangjun's presence in the family was not the most highly anticipated among the three boys, but being the youngest, sangjun was showered with love as a kid. growing up in ilsan was pretty much pretty enjoyable - as any childhood should be. sangjun learnt how to cycle, how to swim, how to sweet-talk his way to going to seungwoo's house instead of doing his homework at home, learning everything with great interest and a keen aptitude. sangjun loved his life in ilsan, which was why it came a great shock for him when his father announced that the whole family would be moving to incheon for the sake of his business.
CHAPTER ONE: NEW BEGINNINGS
frankly, it took sangjun a long time to settle down in incheon. the boy was used to comfort and yes, he was still comfortable in incheon, in terms of financial and familial aspects, but what he wasn't used to was being in a new school. from young, sangjun had stuck to his best friend seungwoo for a good ten years, considering the two were practically inseperable wherever they went. unlike his older brothers hyunwoo and jaehwan who got used to life in incheon relatively fast, sangjun often felt out-of-place in his new middle school and more. it was only when he entered his new high school and a long skype session with seungwoo that sangjun decided that hey, since he got a new chance to restart, he might as well make good use of it.
CHAPTER TWO: NEW BOY NO MORE
after hyunwoo joined the lacrosse team of myunghwa preparatory high school, sangjun soon followed, after his interest had been piqued at the sight of hyunwoo practising without fail after school every day. although he didn't possess the natural talent hyunwoo had, sangjun wasn't that bad of a player - which is why he got accepted into the team.

hyunwoo and sangjun may be brothers by blood, but sangjun's definitely closer to seungwoo than he'll ever be to hyunwoo (that's what he says to himself, at least). there have been more than one instance that sangjun's been jealous of hyunwoo. the between the two of them is only a mere 364 days, and yet sangjun constantly feels like he's simply mediocre compared to hyunwoo, who is seemingly better than sangjun at every aspect possible. because of this, the two of them have a rather awkward relationship, and when sangjun's recognized as hyunwoo's brother whether in the lacrosse team or by a senior, sangjun can only smile tersely. others find it rather amusing, how two grown boys still behave this way around each other, added with the fact that well, they've known each other for more than sixteen years.

ironically, although hyunwoo is the one who is sangjun's actual brother, sangjun is closer and more comfortable with hyunwoo's best friend - and also the co-captain of the previous batch of myunghwa prep's lacrosse team, shin hoseok. sometimes when he comes over to the sons' house he acts a mediator between the two - which the son parents find extremely amusing. sangjun thinks hoseok is a lot cooler than hyunwoo, and although he's never actually said this out loud - everyone can see it.
유승우: BEST FRIEND
seungwoo and sangjun first met when the two of them were six, and instantly hit it off after they discovered their mutual viewpoint of that i. power rangers would take over the world and that ii. girls (anti-cooties club!!!!) since then, they were inseperable and were constantly with each other. they were that pair of weird best friends, the ones who brought the meaning of bromance to reality, calling each other '자기야' and '여보' obviously, both of them were devastated when the news arrived that sangjun would be moving to incheon (this totally ruined their plan of finishing studying in ilsan and then flying to live with the penguins in antartica) it was rather hard for the both of them to adapt to living away from each other (a/n: omg i'm making them sound like soulmates or something) but time fixes everything. the pair still meet up every month or so, and skype as frequent as possible, so it's not that bad, but it's just different, you get me? they no longer go by the 'anti girls' thing anymore - in fact, it's quite the opposite, the two even discussing about which girls they found pretty and all. all in all, despite the fact that sangjun's settled in quite well into myunghwa, the reason why he doesn't really have a 'fixed' clique (besides the lacrosse boys, of course) is because he doesn't think the spot seungwoo occupies will ever be replaced, and vice versa for seungwoo himself. it's also half the reason why not many in myunghwa are that close to sangjun - he refers back too much to seungwoo. "oh, this! back in ilsan i used to do this with seungwoo...."
TRIVIA
▶ sangjun's a sagittarius, while hyunwoo's a scorpio, even though their birthdays are only one day away from each other. (hyunwoo's birthday falls on november 22nd, while sangjun's is on november 23rd.)
▶ speaking of birthdays, one of the most memorable incidents for sangjun would probably be his thirteenth birthday. on hyunwoo's birthday the day before, hyunwoo's friends had all come over and throw him a surprise party on their own accord and naturally, hyunwoo was ecstatic. contrary to that, on sangjun's birthday one day later, only a few friends had shown up at his birthday party (which he had organized himself, mind you). sangjun tried to not let it affect him too much, but well... it did.
▶ surprisingly, sangjun's actually really good at singing, though he doesn't really acknowledge it. he can play the keyboard, having learnt it when he was younger.
▶ sangjun's never gone out with a girl before, although he's had a multitude of crushes that he won't ever admit, even if it was in past.
▶ also: an embarrassing fact about sangjun! he's actually a er for romance movies... seungwoo's the only one who knows this, although the son family have probably guessed it before by the way sangjun gets completely in while watching 'the fault in our stars' but doesn't look all that interested when 'fast and furious' plays.
▶ he's one of those annoying students who don't listen completely to class yet when they get picked on by the teacher to present their answers they appear completely composed and get everything correct when in reality their paper is blank except for the stickman doodled at the bottom right.
▶ believes in things like 'love at first sight'. seungwoo teases him to no end about it.
▶ takes quite a well to warm up to strangers, but overall he's pretty friendly. doesn't mind pulling gags on himself in order to make others laugh, but he won't do anything too embarrassing such that it risks his reputation.

transcript most of the student body at myunghwa recognize sangjun as the previous lacrosse team's captain's younger brother, but those who've encountered sangjun himself see him as the boy who's extremely loud and who still rocks his chair at the age of seventeen. it amazes them when they see his report card, the straight 'a's twinkling mischievously at them like the way sangjun does when he plays a prank on one of them. considering how sangjun hangs out mostly with the lacrosse boys, his popularity is probably. .. well. .. *economics voice* middle high range, perhaps? not to say, top of the tops, but top of the mediums. Amazing!
roster jersey number 01 belongs to son sangjun of the jv team. as mentioned earlier, sangjun only got into lacrosse after joining myunghwa prep and watching hyunwoo and hoseok play, which means he's still rather new and inexperienced at the sport compared to others, but luckily for him, sangjun's always been pretty good at sports, which is why he picked up lacrosse so easily. honestly, sangjun isn't as passionate about lacrosse as certain members of the team who are crazy about it or like his older brother is. yes, he puts in effort during practice and all, don't get me wrong - but he's not about to spend all his free time on lacrosse, man. what about other things like... like pole dancing? what about that? he's also pretty decent at all positions, so he doesn't really mind whichever position he gets assigned to, although personally, he really hates playing as defender. especially when his opponents happen to be 20cm taller than him and with the shoulders of a bull.

(legit) anyways.. .. tbh i know absolutely nothing about lacrosse besides the fact that it was mentioned in enid blyton's st clare's and aoa's heart attack..... i didn't even know guys played it........ so if i did anything wrong or anything (please don't be too mean) this is my first app in more than five months i'm actually really proud of myself since i usually give up on my apps halfway through. also for the l/i section i just ended up writing /actual stuff/ instead of descriptions because i didn't know how to express what i thought......... i hope you're okay with it efovmfpvmpcpgrvl.

▶ a party after a particularly grueling match organized by junsang in order to 'lift people's spirits'. everyone goes, and hyunwoo just happens to be home when everyone comes over. soon the team is ecstatic as they start asking him for advice and talking to him about the slump the team's been in. junsang doesn't know what to feel.
▶ prom!!!!!! the lacrosse team all make a pact to go without a date since their dates are each other #brospirit and they make bets among each other on who'll be the first to break the pact.
▶ lacrosse camp in order to bond the team and to improve their skills. fun stuff happens!!!!!!
