What is this? Did you know that AFF is celebrating its 7th year of being up and running? Every year we have thought of ways to commemorate this special date by doing various activities.
With that being said, this year we have decided to make it all about you with these 45 questions, interview with yourself, survey, quiz—whichever you wanted to call it haha.
Why are we doing 45 Questions? Because... it's fun. Don't question.
Our theme for this year is the freesia, when given on the 7th Anniversary it upholds trust and faithfulness within a bond. The freesia is also a symbol of friendship. It was named freesia after Friedrich H. T. Freese by fellow botanist Christian P. Ecklon, as a tribute to their friendship.
This day marks seven years of trust, faithfulness and friendship with the site, it's creator and the community. As a thank you to all participants, we leave you with a thank you message from the creator of AFF himself.

1. Why was Asianfanfics created?
I know this one! Maybe. But this is what I have heard. The creator, Jason, made it for his girlfriend so she can post her fics. And I think that's incredibly sweet.
2. What is the exact date of AFF's anniversary?
I....have no idea.
3. Our admin, Jason, wrote a fanfic: Zero Day Diaries. Which kpop artists are featured in this fic?
Again, no idea.
4. How long have you been on AFF for?
Since October 31, 2010. 5 years. Can't wait for it to be six, because I'm not sure I'm loving the 5 year badge, even if it's cute in its own way.
5. What color was AFF's layout when you joined?
Greeeeeeeeeen.
6. How did you find AFF?
Amidst loking for fics to read, I read one that made me want to comment and hail the author. So. Here I am!
7. How did you end up becoming a member? What made you want to become a member?
The thing I said aove. Though, I'm fairly sure I wanted to give it a shot too because I'd been writing on LiveJournal till then, and this seemed attractive. I'm glad I did!

Wow, I think, and I could be wrong, that would be Inkyurable_addiction. Which I still think is a genius name.

Again, Inkyurable_addiction. Unfortunately we lost touch.
13. How many fanfiction/thread(s) do you currently have? How many of them are complete?
13 stories, chaptered, one-shots and collections included. 5 of which are completed because I'm that good. The only chaptered fic I've managed to finish isn't even mine, it's my sisters. I'm a horrile author. And then there are a few drafts.
14. How many unique subscribers do you have?

15. What badges do you have?

16. Have you been an AFF Gold Member?
I wish. But on account of being cheap, I haven't taken that step.
17. Out of a scale of 10, how much do you frequent the site?
10 some months, 3 in others. Deending on whether I'm updating. In general, a solid 7.
18. What is the main activity that you do on AFF?
Write, and question why I write when I come across stories that make my writing look like glorified chicken scratch. And talk to friends!
19. How do you spend most of your karma points?
Ads! Once. And now saving them up for my sis to advertise one of her stories, though I dout she'll ever finish it. (serious side eyeing)
20. How would you like to spend you karma points? (E.g. Kpop merchandise.)
Merchandise would be perfect. Can gold membership be purchased with Karma points? That would be great too.
21. Have you ever uploaded a video in the video gallery?
/snorts.
22. Have you entered the chatroom? How was it like for you?
No. If I did, deer caught in headlights would probably be the right metaphor.
23. What is your favourite feature of AFF?
Allothem. Though I'm liking the addition of being able to reply to comments individually, especially since I rememer when that wasn't an option. Also that what chapter is being commented on is shown!
24. What is your least favourite feature of AFF? How can it be improved to make it better?
Ehm. Can't think of anything.
25. If you could introduce just one feature on AFF, what would it be and why?
IM for friends? Not necessarily group chats or anything, but just instant notifications for messages.
26. If you could customize the way AFF appears to you, what color would it be? You could just pick one color or a palette.
I don't know, I'm liking the blue. But if I had to pick, I'd say something soft.

bailingling (who got locked out of her account like a pro and is now secretivechicken), kpopgirl97 (my child), cminka (the adorable pipsqueak who I should probably not be calling a pipsqueak), ConfessToShisus (one if those writers who make me want to quit because HOW and is generally just a wonderful person and deserves good things only), and funkeymonkey (the sis) and TheWinterFairy (her partner in crime.) And because she deserves seperate mention, ThexxMoonxxHides, my love. (And anyone I forgot Imsosorry--)
28. Who are the users you want to get to know better?
No one in particular because that involves human interaction.
29. Are you grateful/owe something to someone on AFF? Who and why?
So many. My friends, who have been awesome in the toughest times, commenters who give me feedback and give me a reason to write, authors who inspire me. So. Many.
30. Who are your AFF inspirations?
Um.
31. If you could put a star on any of your fics/threads, which one would you pick?
Dare to Dream. Written with secretivechicken. It started out as roleplaying, but I think it made an impressive story at the end.
32. What is/are your all time favourite storie(s)/thread(s)?
So many. I'm afraid to name them because I might forget a lot. Some of them disturbing. (The disturing ones are usually by secretivechicken, and I love her for it.)
33. Who is/are your all time favourite author/s?
JuneinAutumn, so many others that I don't mean to brag, but my friends are great writers and they are some of my fav authors on here. What can I say? I attract talent. /shrug
34. If you could put a star on another user's fics/threads, which one would you pick?
Aaaah, I've been waiting for this one. There's a specific story. Some Kind of Loving by ConfessToShisus. It's original, deals with so many issues and were I a New York Times reviewer, I would have branded it a must read. There are a lot of good stories, but this one is a little special. And that's coming from someone who isn't a fan of either Siwon or Gossip Girl. (Did I mention there's dysfunctional QMi? )
Another one is Just Run by ThexxMoonxxHides. It's not complete yet, but it's already one of my favorite stories that I anticipate.
Seriously. Give them both a read.
35. If you could have any username you want, what would that be? (Did someone already take the username you wanted?)
A more mature or funny name might be nice, but I think I've grown too attached to this one.
36. If you would write a fanfic about your life in AFF, what would the title be?
Chronicles of the Bored and Insecure.

It's AFF. What haven't I encountered?

My writing might have improved a little? I'm kinda proud of that. I'm making friends!
39. Have your interests changed on AFF? If yes, in what way? (Eg. Change of OTP, bias group, AFF activity.)
Went from QMi to Taekook, 2PM iased and Writing mostly SJ to almost exclusively writing BTS (though 2PM still has a special place in my heart) , I read and write less now, but mostly read less.
40. There are many communities now on AFF (such as the writing, designing, coding, applyfic, roleplay, reader communities). Is there a community that you aren't part of but want to try one time?
Coding if I could ever get it right. It seems doable on RPR but I'm having trouble getting it right here. Plus the people here are way too talented so, maybe nvm.
41. What is the best thing AFF or being a member of AFF taught you?
There's always someone else with a more depraved mind.
42. What is your greatest contribution to the site so far?
My existence? I kid. Nothing to speak of.

Finish currently active stories, write an amazing (in my mind) sequel(s) to some of them, and catch up on the works of my fave authors.

Canada. Because nothing ever happens in Canada. And I might actually be ale to come. We watch kpop videos together and display fanart for stories and stuff.

Hey Jason! I'm not sure you'll be reading all of these beecause there's sure to be a massive amount, but seriously, thank you. Despite all the idiocy we write and all the drama I'm sure comes up, this place has been a great experience and brought out the creative side in a lot of us. You've worked hard, and thank you for that!
