What is this? Did you know that AFF is celebrating its 7th year of being up and running? Every year we have thought of ways to commemorate this special date by doing various activities.
With that being said, this year we have decided to make it all about you with these 45 questions, interview with yourself, survey, quiz—whichever you wanted to call it haha.
Why are we doing 45 Questions? Because... it's fun. Don't question.
Our theme for this year is the freesia, when given on the 7th Anniversary it upholds trust and faithfulness within a bond. The freesia is also a symbol of friendship. It was named freesia after Friedrich H. T. Freese by fellow botanist Christian P. Ecklon, as a tribute to their friendship.
This day marks seven years of trust, faithfulness and friendship with the site, it's creator and the community. As a thank you to all participants, we leave you with a thank you message from the creator of AFF himself.

1. Why was Asianfanfics created?
Jason created this as a platform for his girlfriend where she could upload her fanfictions.
2. What is the exact date of AFF's anniversary?
Apparently it was in April 2009. No idea when exactly, haha~
3. Our admin, Jason, wrote a fanfic: Zero Day Diaries. Which kpop artists are featured in this fic?
We both have never read it... So no idea, sorry.
4. How long have you been on AFF for?
This account was created in November 2015. Rei had another account here before, though.
5. What color was AFF's layout when you joined?
We will answer it for this account, so it has been blue with the option to change the layout. But blue definitely looks best!
6. How did you find AFF?
We found AFF... through friends, we think? When Rei had her first account here it was to co-author a story of a dear friend.
7. How did you end up becoming a member? What made you want to become a member?
We answered this before~ But this account was made because we wanted to write English fanfictions as well. There is no other website that is as suitable as this one.

-UglyPinkMachine- because this is the name we also use on the German website where we upload our German fanfictions. It is a tribute to the Japanese musician "hide".

We both have honestly no idea. It have been too much. But with this account it must have been "Now What?" by Lariat95.
11. Who is the first AFFer you talked to?
Evelyn-Chan? We guess, we aren't sure.
12. Who was your first friend? Do you still keep in contact?
Evelyn-Chan as well. And we are friends for more than 9 years now, so I bet we will never not keep in contact, lol.
13. How many fanfiction/thread(s) do you currently have? How many of them are complete?
We have: 1 sequel, 1 one-shot, 5 in draft. We wrote another story with Evelyn-Chan that is she uploaded to her account.

205 at the moment, but they are growing and we are really thankful for it!

Not until now.
17. Out of a scale of 10, how much do you frequent the site?
Normally 7/10, but at the moment 10/10 because we just uploaded our first Nyongtory one-shot and we are very curious about the feedback.
18. What is the main activity that you do on AFF?
Both writing and reading. Probably more reading, though.
19. How do you spend most of your karma points?
We collect them!
20. How would you like to spend you karma points? (E.g. Kpop merchandise.)
We actually don't spend them at all. Let's see what we will do with them once we have more.
21. Have you ever uploaded a video in the video gallery?
No, we haven't.
22. Have you entered the chatroom? How was it like for you?
We haven't done that either.
23. What is your favourite feature of AFF?
The main reason why AFF exists - the possibility to share your stories and be able to read what other people wrote.
24. What is your least favourite feature of AFF? How can it be improved to make it better?
We can't really think of one... Probably the tags. It could be more, 6 are okay but most of the time not enough.
25. If you could introduce just one feature on AFF, what would it be and why?
The possibility to silence blogs, because not every member posts interesting blogs (some use it as some kind of Twitter-replacement...). It would also be cool if it was possible to sort the stories you are searching for, for example by its length.
26. If you could customize the way AFF appears to you, what color would it be? You could just pick one color or a palette.
We like blue, so we wouldn't change the color. It appears very harmonic.
27. Who is/are your best friend(s) on AFF?
Evelyn-Chan, who is Rei's girlfriend, and Angel110 who is Kitty's girlfriend. Lariat95 is a very nice member as well. And then we get to know a lot of people through the comments we write and receive, so hopefully we'll have more friends soon.
28. Who are the users you want to get to know better?
The people who comment on our stories! And also the ones who write the stories we love most.
29. Are you grateful/owe something to someone on AFF? Who and why?
We are grateful to everyone who is brave enough to upload their stories. We know that many of them aren't very confident and are afraid people could judge them by what they are writing. But many of them are great authors and are a gain for the community. And we are grateful to our subscribers, commenters and friends.
30. Who are your AFF inspirations?
Trouble Maker and Big Bang. Big Bang seem to develop into a huge crush and we are basically overflowing with ideas! But we find inspirations in almost everything. For example Evelyn-Chan and Kitty drove home from a party, listened to music, and somehow the topic of having a came up. The story we created from this idea is called "One Step At A Time" and it is uploaded on Evelyn-Chan's account.
31. If you could put a star on any of your fics/threads, which one would you pick?
"Love Me, Ri" but only because it is the only story that is finished by now. There will be better ones coming up, especially the fanfiction we are writing about Trouble Maker with Evelyn-Chan.
32. What is/are your all time favourite storie(s)/thread(s)?
None in particular. We find too many good stories to choose, haha~
33. Who is/are your all time favourite author/s?
We don't have one.
34. If you could put a star on another user's fics/threads, which one would you pick?
"Stumbling Down A Winding Road" by donghaeyah could make it... or "Scandal" by LadyVamp. We think we haven't read enough stories to pick one, though.
35. If you could have any username you want, what would that be? (Did someone already take the username you wanted?)
We are happy with our username! ^-^
36. If you would write a fanfic about your life in AFF, what would the title be?
"Two Roads". We write all stories together, and although we are different from each other, we match. We may travel different roads, but we end at the same destiny. That's at least what we hope ♥
37. What was the weirdest thing you encountered on the site?
Let's cite: "Mpreg?! The actual fxxk is Mpreg?!" Us. Not our style. Not at all. If you want someone to be pregnant, why not write about a... woman? >_<
38. What was the best thing that has happened to you on the site?
The love we receive for the stories we write and the thankfulness authors show when you write a constructive comment! We met so many wonderful people although we don't have much contact with most of them, but all in all the community is really sweet and we feel welcome here.
39. Have your interests changed on AFF? If yes, in what way? (Eg. Change of OTP, bias group, AFF activity.)
We would never have guessed that we would be writing stories/one-shots about Big Bang! We never liked them and now Nyongtory is one of our most beloved OTPs. Welcome to our hearts, haha ♥ nevertheless the bias group we had never really changed. Luckily we have an almost similar taste (Super Junior will always be very important for us), so Big Bang just added itself to the list (and our hearts).
40. There are many communities now on AFF (such as the writing, designing, coding, applyfic, roleplay, reader communities). Is there a community that you aren't part of but want to try one time?
We have never really tried anything except writing, but now we are lacking time to try something new...
41. What is the best thing AFF or being a member of AFF taught you?
We learned that it doesn't matter where you come from. We got compliments for our English skills although we are no native English speakers, and we receive nice words for the stories we write, unlike the comments we receive in real life. AFF taught us that friendship is really important, and that writing with other people is a gain for both sides.
42. What is your greatest contribution to the site so far?
Not really anything, unfortunately! The only thing that might count is that we always try to write long and constructive comments because we as writers have learned how important it is to get feedback, and especially to receive comments that are longer than just the standard "Thank you for updating". We try to write comments that would motivate ourselves to write, too.
43. What are your current AFF goals?
Our current goals... We want to improve our English skills, and we want to write more stories in order to make people happy. That are the goals we are aiming for. And probably we'll be famous one day, who knows? ;)
44. If the AFF community decides to do a get-together, how should we spend it and where?
Meetings like the German Cosplay Convention "Connichi" are always like a giant family meeting for us. Something like that would be awesome. It could happen anywhere, we wouldn't mind. :)
45. AFF is celebrating it's 7th year and is continuing to grow thanks to our admin, Jason. Do you have a message for him?
Dear Jason, when you created AFF 7 years ago we didn't know that something like this existed. We had no idea of fanfictions, nor of Korean music. With time we found new hobbies, new bands, and we got the creativity and courage to write, not only for ourselves, but also for other people. We are very thankful that you give us an opportunity to share our stories with people all over the world. We are sure that we'll find new friends soon, and we hope that this page will always be open for new stories and new friends. Thank you a lot! Kitty and Rei ♥
