HACKING : : joohye is extremely good at hacking for her age. she can hack into security cameras, online town documents, house security, etc. her limit to hacking seems to be getting around the korean government security, and the deep web which she recently tried to hack. she still has much to learn and her brother tries to teach her when he learns something new.
FAMILY BUISNESS : : joohye's older brother started a hacking buisness in beomjo public school while he was still a student. high school students from all grades would pay him to hack and each student was given a contract to sign that outlined the terms and conditions (basically you can't rat him out). he accepted almot all hacking jobs except for the ones that went against his morals. when he graduated from school, he handed the buisness over to joohye to run. next in line is their cousin, and then their cousin's younger sibling. joohye saves the money she gets in order to buy a new laptop in the future.
FROM, KI : : if she ever deliberately leaves something behind when she hacks, it's always a small note that ends with "from, ki." her notes are worded more formally than how she speaks in real life (meaning she doesn't cuss and she sounds professional). she only wrote notes after joining the murder club. before the murder club, she had no reason to leave notes.
COMPUTER GAMES : : joohye uses her love for computer games as a coverup for the family buisness. the games that she is currently playing are league of legends and counterstrike. she's ranked pretty high, but her brother is even better. her brother often teams up with joohye and some of his friends to play a match.

THE MENTOR
nam daehan : : fc. park jaehyung
as the older brother and the most influential person in joohye's life, nam daehan was the one to introduce joohye to the world of hacking and computer games. he was the founder of the so called "family buisness" and passed it down to joohye to manage after he graduated. he taught her everything she needed to know, and was strict on not allowing any mistakes that could potentially mess the whole thing up. however, daehan is actually an easy-guy and social person who loves his little sister to death (often smothering her in headlocks or spinning her around, making her screech in protest). daehan and joohye are extremely close, and work well with each other. he teases joohye a lot which causes her to huff at him, but smile a little afterwards. he usually tries to get joohye to hang out with, and tells her that she should try to be less grumpy and make friends. daehan added her to his team in league, and the duo are almost undefeatable. he acknowledges joohye's hacking skills, and often ponders that joohye is catching up to him. his friends that come over like to treat her as a kid which drives joohye mad and makes daehan laugh. daehan is the person joohye talks to the most and trusts the most.

the source of daily headaches for joohye but also her source of income, ha jinwoong to joohye is the pimple on a typical teen's face that just keeps on getting bigger. with their families being close since their fathers were roommates in college, joohye is well acquainted with how moral-driven jinwoong could be, a trait that she admires but also abhors as he usually comes to her for favors that take up most of her time. his optimism seems to only annoy rather than uplift joohye. he regards joohye as a friend whose grumpiness and annoyance towards him is her way of appreciating their friendship, but joohye would say otherwise. most of the sentences that comes out of joohye's mouth towards jinwoong are insults or jabs meant to hurt. when he comes up to her to ask if she will join the club, joohye automatically refuses but finds herself being threatened to join ("if you don't join, then i'll tell the police about your hacking!"). partly amused and partly bored, joohye plays along, pretending to join the club because he forced her (even if he did try to turn her in, it wouldn't work. she made sure to never leave behind proof of her hacking, and if she did leave a ki message, it can't be traced back to her. the message would be traced to an abandoned field in china). although she may complain and groan at the thought of the club, joohye feels a little thrill whenever the club works on a case.

if jinwoong is a pimple to joohye, taehee to is a fly that always buzzes around her ears. this upbeat ball of sunshine is the younger half-korean cousin of joohye and next-in-line to inherit the "family buisness" (sadly, taehee's more levelheaded brother was only 11; meaning joohye had no choice but to mentor the "walking disaster."). at the moment, joohye is making taehee do small, menial tasks so she can observe how taehee works. after figuring out the best way to teach taehee how to hack, joohye plans to dive straight into the lessons, challenging taehee on different assignments just like how daehan did to her. taehee follows joohye around like a cute, little puppy, and often compliments joohye in whatever she does ("wow! you're so amazing!" "i just poured water into a cup taehee."). when asked why she likes taehee better than jinwoong when they're similar, joohye always answers with "she doesn't ask me for favors" while taehee is slighly behind joohye with her head held up high exclaiming "yeah! i don't ask her favors!" taehee was taught by joohye to stop jinwoong from talking to her unless he's paying for a favor, often acting as "bodyguard" for joohye ("stop! don't walk any further! joohye does not wish for you to be in her presence!" "but i have money?" "oh, well go right ahead then!"). although joohye finds taehee annoying at times, she thinks her cousin is enduring; something she would never tell taehee in fear of the girl screaming in her ears out of happiness.

basically the opposite of joohye, the ideal type is upbeat, fun-loving, and loud. he is genuine in his concern for others, and doesn't seem to have a mean streak that would scare people away. his brightness draws people to him like flies, and his smile can light up anybody's world. unfortunately, he's a blabbermouth and his ideas can be ridiculous. it also doesn't help that he can't seem to take things seriously when it needs to be, and seems to be a bit lacking in terms of intelligence. his reckless behavior can bring the club in danger at times which agggravates everybody.

a quiet and calm person who shows his appreciation through his actions rather than his words. he mediates the arguments or dispute that occurs in the club, and is the person you would go to for advice. he's honest in his answers and is extremely patient with others. he works hard in everything he does. his downfall is his extreme trust in others. he trusts other people too easily, and would deny the person he trust would be a possible suspect. he doesn't open up easily to others, and can be moody from time to time. unfortunately, he can't seem to say no to other people, and many people take advantage of that.

how did you find out about the murder club?
click click tap tap. joohye's sole concentration is on her laptop as she furiously clicks the enemy team into oblivion. the interviewer impatiently waits for joohye to answer the question, and finally slams the laptop's cover closed.
"ow! what was that for? i was in the middle of a match," joohye scowls as she holds onto her right hand that was screaming in pain. the interviewer tells her to answer the question. "couldn't you have waited until i finished? there was only 5 minutes left, and i was winning." the interviewer forced a smile and said that study hall was almost finished so they had to do the interview this instant. "do i really have to do the interiew? i don't even want to be within a 2 mile radius of han jinwoong unless he's giving me money."
just answer the question already and you can go back to winning or whatever. "that dolt was talking about it all the time. it was inevitable i heard about jinwoong's little wannabe club."
why do you want to join the club?
joohye rolled her eyes at this question, "i don't. he ran out of money and threatened to turn me into the police for illegal hacking." the interviewer reels back in shock at the word "illegal." "oh please, don't act surprised. we live in beomjo, the city whose name literally means crime. i'm pretty sure the motto for our lovely ciy is 'you can't spell illegal without legal!'"
the interviewer distinctly remembers that phrase being written on the pamphlets welcoming the (nonexistant) tourists that enter the city. joohye looks amusedly at the interviewer, "and i'm pretty sure you paid me to clear all the detentions from your school records." the interviewer clears and looks away while pretending to not know what joohye was talking about.
what can you add to the club?
"despair, pain, and hacking skills," joohye deadpans as she gets bored of the conversation. she stops and then continues, "and maybe coupons . . . if i'm feeling generous that day." which i'm never joohye thinks to herself.
how are you planning to join the club?
"more like how i'm planning to get out of the club. jinwoong wouldn't let me out even if i made the korean secret service go after him for crimes he didn't commit.," joohye frowns in irritation.
she taps her fingers and her right leg starts to go up and down in impatience, "can i go back to my laptop now?" the interview nods at joohye, relieved to have finished the interview with the cranky girl.
the last thing interviewer sees of joohye is the girl opening her laptop again muttering something about entering several detentions into jinwoong's spotless school records as payback for coercing her into joining the sad excuse of a club.

"ow! what was that for? i was in the middle of a match," joohye scowls as she holds onto her right hand that was screaming in pain. the interviewer tells her to answer the question. "couldn't you have waited until i finished? there was only 5 minutes left, and i was winning." the interviewer forced a smile and said that study hall was almost finished so they had to do the interview this instant. "do i really have to do the interiew? i don't even want to be within a 2 mile radius of han jinwoong unless he's giving me money."
just answer the question already and you can go back to winning or whatever. "that dolt was talking about it all the time. it was inevitable i heard about jinwoong's little wannabe club."
why do you want to join the club?
joohye rolled her eyes at this question, "i don't. he ran out of money and threatened to turn me into the police for illegal hacking." the interviewer reels back in shock at the word "illegal." "oh please, don't act surprised. we live in beomjo, the city whose name literally means crime. i'm pretty sure the motto for our lovely ciy is 'you can't spell illegal without legal!'"
the interviewer distinctly remembers that phrase being written on the pamphlets welcoming the (nonexistant) tourists that enter the city. joohye looks amusedly at the interviewer, "and i'm pretty sure you paid me to clear all the detentions from your school records." the interviewer clears and looks away while pretending to not know what joohye was talking about.
what can you add to the club?
"despair, pain, and hacking skills," joohye deadpans as she gets bored of the conversation. she stops and then continues, "and maybe coupons . . . if i'm feeling generous that day." which i'm never joohye thinks to herself.
how are you planning to join the club?
"more like how i'm planning to get out of the club. jinwoong wouldn't let me out even if i made the korean secret service go after him for crimes he didn't commit.," joohye frowns in irritation.
she taps her fingers and her right leg starts to go up and down in impatience, "can i go back to my laptop now?" the interview nods at joohye, relieved to have finished the interview with the cranky girl.
the last thing interviewer sees of joohye is the girl opening her laptop again muttering something about entering several detentions into jinwoong's spotless school records as payback for coercing her into joining the sad excuse of a club.
