  • APPEARANCE:  Sophie is pretty smol, standing at 165cm, and it does annoy her sometimes especially when boys are way taller than she is (looking at you Yook Sungjae). She doesn't usually wear a lot of makeup, or any at all, unless she's got a schedule and it's necessary. It's not that she doesn't like makeup it's just that she's usually too lazy for it and doesn't think it's all that important. She's actually fairly happy with her appearance though netizens and Korea's beauty standards do chip away at that very persistently. She's not exactly up to the Korean standards. She weights 55kg and is slihtly curvier than Korea likes too but that's the one thing they can't chip away at. She doesn't want to be that sickly thin that many female idols are, she's just fine with a few curves thank you.

    STYLE:  Honestly Sophie doesn't have a great sense of fashion. As lazy as she is about the makeup thing, so lazy she is whe it comes to clothing herself. She usually just grabs whatever is in arm's reach in the morning and doesn't smell.  She's got many pairs of simple black  skinnies or jeans, t-shirts, and flannel shirts. She does love her plaid flannel shirts and has many of those in her closet.

PERSONALITY:

SHE'S SUNSHINE ON A CLOUDY DAY   ;    Sophie is a bright and optimistic girl. She always has a smile on her face and tries to look at the bright side of life. She's usually a ray of sunshine and most of the time she's in a good mood to the extend that you know something's really wrong when Sophie isn't smiling. A part of this is her tendency to avoid her problems, she focuses on the positive side so she doesn't have to think of the negative side. But also a big part of it is just her naturally sunny disposition. 
 
Sophie usually just tries to have fun and sometimes it looks like she hasn't got a care in the world which makes her very irresponsible.  She doesn't usually take things as seriously as she should which can really get annoying for those around her who want to get work done. She doesn't like to take life too seriously, she much prefers to have fun and not think too hard about it all, but life doesn't work that away and it really ends up conflicting with some of the more responsible members of the group.
 
Combine that with her playful and impulsive nature and sometimes she's just the leader's nightmare.  Sophie doesn't think about the things that come out of and she's way too blunt and honest for her own good. She's also way too fond of slacking off and just having a bit of fun. Sophie's often going around with her guitar or ukulele creating silly songs on the fly when she has nothing to do, or else she'll initiate silly games or just mess around. She just has this inability to sit still and she hates silence. This also makes her very unfocused. Sophie gets distracted easily and then messes up. She's usually the one who messes up a choreography or accidentally sings the wrong lyrics just because she zoned out or got distracted even if she's not the worst dancer. If they ever record versions of their songs in a different language there's also a chance she'll accidentally sing the wrong lyrics there.
 
 
A FRIEND ANYONE IN NEED   ;    Sophie never knows when to leave well enough alone. When she sees anything unfair going on she just has to meddle even if it's totally not her business. She just cannot stand it when something unfair is going on. This gets her into trouble a lot when she interfere with things she really shouldn't interfere with. Things like arguments among fans at a signing, seeing a trainee being yelled at, or seeing someone crying by themselves will cause Sophie to immediately take action and interfere. And then there's the Gigi conflict of course.
 
Of course this heavily ties into her impulsivity, Sophie doesn't think things through, she just assumes that someone needs her helps and butts in even if nobody asked for it. Someone is in need so she will help and that is how it is. At least nobody can say that Sophie isn't brave. If there's one thing you can rely Sophie for it is that she will stand up for what she believes in and she will help and defend her friends until the very end. If one does ask Sophie for help then one can be sure that she will go to the ends of the earth to help them. Sometimes a little too fanatically too.
 
Now, thankfully, Sophie to the rescue doesn't only mean the loud impulsive stuff, it also means that Sophie is a giant sweetheart who takes care of those around her. Her meddling doesn't always mean yelling at people and being impulsive, sometimes it means a hot beverage and a listening ear. Sophie is always ready to listen to someone's problems and just give them a hug and a shoulder to lean on. She's a firm believer that a hot beverage will always help, and so will a listening ear, and she's a surprisingly good listener.
 
 
A FRIEND INDEED   ;    To her friends Sophie is extremely affectionate. She loves to show that they are important to her, and it is important to her to show them that they are loved. She often initiating casual skinship and casual compliments regardless of the gender of her friends too. She treats the boys and girls the exact same way. That doesn't mean that she can't be a little either though, be warned! Sophie is very playful and loves causing trouble and she will drag you into it. She often goodnaturedly makes fun of her friends and playful banter is a staple of her friendships. These two traits interact in an interesting way so that she can go from playfully making fun of her friends to linking arms and giving heartfelt compliment in a second. 
 
Now with her penchant for being impulsive and honest sometimes her jibes and playful banter can go too far and she ends up hurting the person involved which would make her feel absolutely horrid. She just doesn't think about what she says and how it will affect everyone involved and is prone to putting her foot in . If this happens brace yourself for a truckload of affection as Sophie tries to make it up to you.  
 
Sophie is also very forgiving, she cannot for the life of her hold a grudge. She usually can't even stay mad at someone for longer than like an hour. She's the kind of person who can have a fight with someone one minute, go out for a bit, and come back smiling and all is forgiven and gets confused about why the other one is still mad at her. She also tries her best not to judge people too harshly and might even be too forgiving of other's faults. It ends up being fairly easy to take advantage of Sophie because she's so eager to be liked and so quick to forgive.
 
 
THE PIT OF DESPAIR  ;    Sophie's biggest flaws all stem from the same place: her insecurities and her anxiety. Sophie needs outside validation to feel good about herself, but this also means that she takes outside criticisms incredibly harshly.  The opinions of the general public affect her a lot, especially the negative ones, even if she pretends that it doesn't hurt her. Mean netizens comment just really, really get her down and with her rash nature she is forever incurring the wrath of the netizens. 4xU's Sophie is interfering with other people's business. 4xU's Sophie is rude to a sunbae. 4xU's Sophie says something mean to a group member. She never means anything by it but it still happens and is always taken the wrong way.
 
At the same time Sophie is very self-reliant. This comes from the fact that she's never been able to really hold on to many friends because of the constant moving so she learned to take care of herself and tries to shoulder her burdens on her own. No, no, she doesn't mind that she messed up that same dance move, she's fine. Oh no that insult didn't get to her at all, she's fine. No it's okay she doesn't mind that you guys hung out without her, everything is fine. The only problem is that it's not fine at all.
 
Sophie is guilty of avoiding her problems at all cost. Part of her hopes that if she doesn't think about her problems then they'll just go away and leave her alone. If she just pushes her insecurities down and puts on a bright smile the nobody will notice that something's very very wrong. Except that's not how problems or insecurities work and whenever they come back to haunt her they come back with a vengeance and Sophie will just keep trying to deal with them on her own until someone notices her holding back tears or crying in a corner and figures out that something is really wrong with Sophie. 
 
Things that get to her the most actually don't come from things like netizens or fans, but from her friends. Sophie is really, really scared of her friends deserting her and being excluded really hurts her. She's always afraid of people finally realizing that she's annoying and not wanting her around anymore and it also really doesn't help that she still doesn't quite feel like she belongs in Korea. She's equal parts Kiwi and equal parts Korean and thus she fits into neither. Sophie just wants to find a place to belong and until she finds that she's gonna be needy and insecure.

BACKGROUND:

Sophie has spend half of her life in Korea and half of it in New Zealand. Her dad works for a company with business ties in both countries and would often be stationed back and forth and if he was staying in Korea for longer than a year at a time the family would move with him for a time and then move back if he was needed in New Zealand again. Thus by the time Sophie was 15 she had spent a total of 10 years of her life living in Auckland and 5 years living in Seoul spread out over the years. All that going back and forth didn't do her much good, Sophie ended up feeling an outcast in either country. Having to spend so much time away from Auckland made her drift from the friends she made there, and having to spend short bursts of time in Seoul in a whole different culture just made her stand out more as a foreiger there.
 
The one constant that Sophie had was music, she got lessons in either country, and Sophie put er all into those lessons being the only stable presence in her life. When she was 15 they'd been living back in Seoul for a few months and she got the idea to auditions for an entertainment company. She'd been throwing herself into KPOP in an attempt to have something to talk about with her classmates and fit in more and she really liked it. What's more her only real friend at the time just happened to be an idiotic Cube trainee, Yook Sungjae, who she met in a wild encounter at the cinema. And so she thought maybe she'd be able to do something with her love for music and her budding love for KPOP, and at the same time it would be an excuse to keep living in Korea and stop moving between the two countries all the time. She thought that maybe if she sayed in Korea permanently she'd become a part of it and be accepted. Oh boy did her parents take some convincing, she was a tiny teen after all, but she managed to convince them that this was what she really, really wanted to do and they gave in and let her audition. Sophie chose to audition for Cube because of Sungjae and got accepted. 
 
Training was tougher than she realized. Little Sophie had imagined the trainee life though rather rose coloured glasses even though Sungjae had told her how harsh it was, but she took it in stride and worked hard to improve and learn how to dance from scratch. Sophie's problem was that she was telling herself everything was fine while actually she was lagging behind on training and feeling inferior to trainees who'd been at the company longer. She was miserable while pretending to be happy. She didn't even see much of Sungjae because the trainees were separated by gender. So when her training contract ended after a year she quit and went back to New Zealand. 

So after her two year training contract ran out she decided not to renew and go back to New Zealand. She went back to her old high school but still didn't feel like she fit in. She'd been away for 2 years, one while she stayed with her parents and one with Cube,  which is the longest she'd ever lived away from Auckland and her friends had moved on. She was behind on classes because of the different way the subjects were taught and because she'd spent most of her time training and not doing homework while training and she just had a really hard time. She tried to make new friends even tried to date a bit (and every single one of those dates went awful), but it just didn't feel right. Plus she really missed making music. So when she graduated from high school she decided to go back to Korea. She auditioned for JYPE, Starship, and SM and never made it through all the audition rounds before trying Woolim and finally getting accepted. And the rest is history.
 

TRAINEE LIFE: 1 year at Cube, 1 year at Woolim

Honestly on the one hand she'd really liked trained at Cube, she loved music even before and this was all just a different side of making music. Dance fascinated her, until now when she thought of music she thought of making music. Playing the guitar or the piano or singing. But dancing, instead, was reacting to music and moving your body to suit it. She never grew to be super good at it but she did like it a lot. That was after she learned not to be stiff as a board at least. The music she really did enjoy, but she wasn't used to working so hard and had a lot of trouble juggling her studies and training. What's more she never reall felt like she belonged with the other trainees. So after her one year training contract ran out she was out of there.

When she got back to Woolim she was incredibly rusty. She hadn't been dancing at all and just been singing for her youtube channel, nothing major. But she was determined to succeed where she'd previously failed and without having to worry about studying she improved quickly and actually managed to get slotted to debut! She specifically asked to get rap classes as well because she's always been interested in learning how to rap. It's just another way to express yourelf with music. She's not very good at it yet but she's working on it.

Sophie loves her parents very much even if the moving around caused her a lot of trouble in her life. She never blamed them for any of it and she really misses them. Her dad had been trying to find reasons to stay in Seoul more for the past couple of years just so they didn't have to be so far away but for the last year he's been stuck in Auckland. At least that does mean that she gets regular shipments of Kiwi candy from home. Both her parents are very supportive of her decisions and also of her biuality. They'll watch her music videos when she debuts and offer any support she can. Sophie always buts on a brave face for her parents, she doesn't like to let thm know when something is wrong and cause them to worry. 

 

FRIENDS: 
Chaichareon Kaiputra / partner in crime / 22 / member of 4xU / genuine, confident, outgoing, impulsive, frivolous, sassy (nickname: Chai or K)

Sophie and Chai get along very well. For one they both know what it's like to sort of belong somewhere but not quite. And while very different in some ways, they're also quite similar in others. Chai and Sophie have a habit of getting into a spot of trouble, and Sophie is always game when it comes to Chai's pranks. Overall Sophie would say she's closest to Chai, and she knows that Chai can handle Sophie's sometimes insensitive and blunt comments and Chai can be honest enough to tell Sophie to shut up when she needs to. Sophie really admires Chai's ability to charm everyone on live broadcast as well as her skill in yoga. She sometimes tries to join Chai when she's practicing yoga but Sophie has no flexibility and all. 

Yoon Jinsol (Clara) / partner in crime / 16 / member of 4xU / gentle, patient, kind, anxious, senstive, perfectionist (nickname: Sol)

Sophie and Jinsol aren't very close at all. Jinsol is quiet and gentle where Sophie is brash and hates silene. Jinsol is a perfectionist where Sophie tends to slack off during practices of you let her.  Jinsol is patient where Sophie is impulsive. They're just too different to get along right off the bat. Sophie is wary when she's alone with Jinsol because she knows that Jinsol is a little fragile and Sophie isn't good with fragile things. She's prone to saying something stupid or blunt and hurting Jinsol's feelings.  And then Sophie feels awful for being such an insensitive jerk. The leader has learned not to put the two of them alone together, Sophie is just bound to do something stupid.

 

OTHERS: 

Kim Ahyoung (Yura) / #friendgoals / 23 / member of Girl's Day / friendly, cheerful, childish / alive / (nickname: Yu)

Yura is really cute and nice and Sophie really wants to be friends with her. She's beautiful in that way that low key still gives Sophie the dokis, but doesn't turn her into actual non-functioning jelly like the women below. Sophie mostly just thinks that she looks really cute and lovely and would really like to be friends with her.

These are the women that turn Sophie into flustered stuttering jelly just by being in their presence. Being around them makes Sophie 90% likely to say stupid things and then wish she could stop existing. Being around these women makes her feel like a big giant lesbian even though she's really biual. Please don't leave Sophie alone with any of them she can't be trusted around them. 

Park Sooyoung (Joy) / totally not jealous /  19 / optimistic, childish, impatient, bubbly / alive

This is nothing personal against Joy but Sophie can't help but get a little jealous of Joy because of the WGM thing. She tells herself that it's totally not because she got the feelings for Sungjae nope, its just because Joy gives her a bad vibe, totally. But yeah no it's definitely jealousy. Still Sophie doesn't treat her badly or anything, she's just not very friendy to Joy and there's always some tension between them that the more perceptive will catch on to.

LIKES: 

- MUSIC  ;   She really loves Bruno Mars, Beyonce, and Queen, while on the KPOP side she's into Lee Hyori (her queen), Btob (because Sungjae), Mamamoo, and AkMu. She's also a big fan of Sunggyu's solo effort and would be totally nervous actually meeting him .
- SWEETS  ;   especially Kiwi ones. Every once in a while her parents send her a box of New Zealand sweets including chocolate fish and copious amounts of licorice and gummies and a pot of Marmite.
- RUGBY  ;  go All Blacks!
- HORROR MOVIES  ;  but they also scare her a lot. She's the one pestering everyone to watch horror movies with her and then huddling to someone as she cowers in fear and can't look.
- TEA   ;   with a cloud of milk please. Earl Grey is her favourite but she'll take any fruity one in a pinch.
- MUSIC  ;  Sophie was made for music and it's never far away from her.

 

DISLIKES: 
- MAKE-UP   ; well, she doesn't dislike it but she's usually too lazy to put it on herself. If she doesn't get her makeup done there's a big chance she's walking around barefaced.
- SILENCE   ;  Even when she's alone she's usually humming or singing or playing guitar, anything to fill up the silence.
- SPICY FOOD   ; she's got a very low tolerance.
- NETIZENS   ; they make her nervous and also she messed up a lot. Usually either they love her or they hate her.
- KOREAN FOOD   ; she really doesn't like the taste but please don't tell anyone. It's usually too spicy for her, or just really not like what she's used to. The exception is kimbab, she loves it.
- AEGYO   ;  please don't make her do it she's awful at acting cute.  Let Little Red do it instead.

 

HABITS: 
- NICKNAMES  ;  She usually gives her friends monosyllabic nicknames. The only exception is Yook Sungjae because of his insistance of calling her by her full name.
- MUSIC   ;   Put her anywhere near a musical instrument and she will start playing, whether she knows how or not. She often makes up songs when she's not doing anything and they're usually silly.
- CASUAL SKINSHIP   ;   Sophie often does causal skinship like linking arms or leaning against people or just initiating some sort of physical contact. She's definitely not shy of touching.
 

HOBBIES: 
- SINGING of course. She loves singing. She's definitely an emotional singer nd technique is her weak point, something she's still working on.
- PLAYING GUITAR/UKULELE   ; Her and her guitar (affectionately named Michin) are thick as thieves and never far apart if Sophie can help it. She also has a small ukulele (named Jangmi and painted with roses) for when her guitar is too big to carry around.
- MAKING SONGS   ; Often when Sophie has nothing to do she'll grab Michin or Jangmi and just start playing and making up silly little songs. She once followed Chai around the dorm narrating everything she did, and she serenaded Clara with an ode to finding someone shorter than her. That's not to say that Sophie doesn't write serious songs either. She's very serious about learning how to write songs and wants to be able to write and produce her own music to perform some day.

FEARS: 
- BEING LEFT BEHIND  ;  Because of her constant moving back and forth between New Zealand and Korea she's never been able to hold onto friends, they were always leaving her behind as they moved on with their lives without her. Now she can be a little clingy and easily jealous around her friends because she's simply afraid of being left behind again.
- NEVER BELONGING   ; Again because of her life spent between two countries she still doesn't really feel like she fits into either. Sophie is afaid she'll never find a place that feels just right.
- DATES   ; Oh man has she had a terrible experience dating. She's gone on a total of 5 dates in her life and they were all completely awful. Now Sophie is convinced there's a curse on her or something and none of her dates will ever go right. For reference this is how they went:

Number one: A girl who worked at a coffee shop who asked her out. Sophie was so nervous that she could hardly speak. When she made herself say something she said that the girl's eyes reminded her of beautiful blue skies. Her eyes were brown. She was so mortified she just left.
Number two: It was a blind date with a friend of a friend. The guy ended up going to the bathroom 10 minutes in and never came back. She had to pay for the drink too.
Number three: A date with a classmate. They went for mexican food first and then went to the cinema. In the middle of the movie she let out a huge loud fart right in the middle of an emotional moment. She should not have eaten that chili. He never called her back.
Number four: She met this guy via a friend and actually went on two dates with him before finding out he was seeing two other girls AND a guy as well.
Number five: The girl just didn't even show up.
 

TRIVIA: 

- YOUTUBE  ;   She has a YouTube account (@LoveSophie) where she posts acoustic covers. She also tries to rope in any of her friends, gropu mates, or label mates to sing songs with her. Covers like 1 2 3 4 5. The channel is named Love, Sophie bcause that's how she usually ends her videos.
- MARMITE  ;   She loves making people taste Marmite, foreigners invariably think it's disgusting and way too salty but it's a staple on Kiwi sandwiches. The best is a marmite and chip sandwich. 
- VARIETY  ;   She's very hit and miss on variety shows and it really depends on who she's with. For some reason when you point a camera in her face Sophie gets really nervous and temporarily loses all the charm she has. She really needs someone there to help her overcome her nerves and then she'll be able to show her charming, if odd, self. When she's nervous she says all the wrong things and stumbles over her words and digs a hole for herself. If she she gets over her nerves she's very friendly and funny and sweet, if still low key a weirdo. When things do go well she often uses her skill in creating silly songs, or makes light of herself and her experiences (such as the failed dates) to get some laughs.
- Y VS CUTE   ;   She always feel awkward doing super cute concepts and is more in her element in tough or even y ones.
- UALITY  ;   Sophie is biual. Her parents know and accept her but she hasn't told anyone in Korea. She's not usually phased by handsome men but beautiful women make her seriously flustered. She'd probably self-combust if she ever got to meet Lee Hyori, Taeyeon, Ailee, Sojin, or Amber, who she's all most weak to.
- SLANG  ;  She still frequently slips up and uses Kiwi slang like 'not even' (as if), 'ta' (thanks), 'buggered' (exhausted), 'all good' (you're welcome), 'yeah nah' (ehm), 'cuppa' (hot drink), or ending questions in 'eh'.
- IDEAL TYPE  ;  When asked for her ideal type she usually jokes about anyone but Yook Sungjae. If pressed she'll usually go with someone she assumes she'd never meet like Kim Soohyun or Song Joongki, or different members of BtoB if she wants to mess with Sungjae. 
- SINGING  ;   If possible Sophie wants to always sing live even when she's sick and will likely crack her voice she'll stubbornly insist on singing live. She'll argue that she's a singer and thus she will sing. Even during rehearsals or dance practices she'll sing her parts.
- SHOWERS   ;   Sophie is the quickst to shower and get ready in the morning because she's usually too lazy to be bothered with creams or makeup or face masks and if she's tired she'd totally just fall asleep with makeup still on. She's also the member with the worst skin because of this.
- SONGS   ;   Sophie doesn't really like ballads, she prefers her music at least mid-tempo. She likes to think that she writes about more diverse subjects than love and oppa notice me but love and the fear of reaching out is still something she struggles with so it still comes up. There's songs in her notebook about finding a place to belong and there's songs about being scared to reach out to soeone you have a crush on in fear of ruining the friendship (gee I wonder where that subject matter came from). She even wrote a song making light of her failed dates. Some of her songs are English and some are Korean.

If Jinsol's Minghao is the definition of a cinnamon roll, then Sungjae is the definition of a lil . He's this infinite ball of energy and cheerfulness who's usually goofing off and joking around one way or another. Much like Sophie Sungjae doesn't really like to take things seriously and is always looking for a reason to make a joke and lighten the mood.  He's also a giant drama queen and loves to stand in the spot light. In fact he can get a little annoyed if others are getting more attention than he is. Even though it might seem like Sungjae takes nothing seriously, he's very passionate about music and acting and this passion is definitely something he shares with Sophie. When he starts singing he really gives it everything he's got and doesn't hold back. But it doesn't mean that he won't attack the audience with a greasy smile and a heart in the middle of a performance, is all.

 

It's commong knowledge that Sungjae likes attention and can be downright shameless in getting it. If there's a camera around you can bet that Sungjae will be close by. He's also not exactly modest. This kid has enough confidence to power a small country. This confidence comes with a side-dsh of pride, and Sungjae can be frustratingly stubborn when it comes to not admitting his own mistakes. Sungjae is also a total idiot, frankly he's just not very smart and he's prone to doing some pretty dumb things and Sophie usually just goes along with it unless its really stupid. She's definitely the brains in this friendship. With that stupidity also comes a side of dense. Things tend to fly over his head and he can be insensitive to other's feelings because of it. It's not like he doesn't care he just doesn't realize and then when he does he feels really bad about it.


Whereas sophie hides her feelings and her troubles behind a constant smile and positive attitude, Sungjae wears his feelings for everyone to see. It'a testament to his general cheerful and positive outlook that most of the time he's his happy and playful self, but when he's not in a good mood everyone will know. Sungjae's moods don't come in a subtle setting, he's all extremes. Either he's in a really good mood or he's in a really foul mood and ends up sulking along or saying things he doesn't mean. Most of his friends have learned to leave him be when he's in one of hi bad moods but of course Sophie isn't one of those people which can cause some conflict between them and Sophie tends to take harsh words from him way harder than from anyone else because she cares more about him. And on Sungjae's end his pride means that while most of the time they exchange playful jabs without a problem, sometimes Sophie goes too far and says something that really does sting. 

 

RELATIONSHIP: Sungjae and Sophie met at the cinema in 2010. He'd been a trainee at the time and she was just a regular teen who had been stood up by her friends to see a movie. They'd cancelled at the last minute and Sophie was quite hurt about that. Meanwhile Sungjae had snuck out of the dorm to watch the movie even though he knew it wasn't allowed by the companyand lo and behold one of the trainers was at the movie theatre watching just the same movie he was, he had the worst luck. Sungje literally ran into Sophie while rushing to aoid the trainer and she'd heped him by pulling him into the girl's bathroom. The whole thing was just so ridiculous that they started chatting and they ended up watching the movie together and had an awesome time right until the credits rolled and Sungjae's trainer spotted him. He just about managed to give her his number before being dragged out by a very angry Cube employee (and he actually got into a lot of trouble for this incident). 

So after that faithful incident they ended up talking a lot. He usually complained about training to her and they hung out a few more times when he could sneak some time away from training. They always had this disposition for trouble, whenever they were together they always got into some form of trouble. One time both of them forgot their money and had to do dishes to pay for a lunch. Another time they were feeding ducks and they ended up attacked by angry greedy geese. Another time at cube they accidentally got themselves locked into the dance studio. Then there was the time they made up a song about the evil dance teacher and she walked in halfway through. Stupid situations have a way of finding them. When she joined Cube she was looking forward to seeing a lot more of him but they ended up so busy and with conflicted schedules that if anything they saw less of each other but still managed to meet up and cause trouble every now and then. And then Sophie left the company and the country and they didn't talk much at all for 2 years.

When Sophie got back to Korea she was really scared that, like most people she knew, he would've moved on by now and they wouldnt click anymore like they used to, especially not since he had debuted in BtoB by now. Despite her fear she texted him with a  'Guess who's back?' and got an 'it's been 84 years' meme back and just like that they were messaging back and forth again just like they used to. Since she got right back into training she hasn't been able to meet up with him yet but you bet that when they do finally meet again there will be a hug so intense it resembles more of a tackle involved.

As Sophie and Sungjae go back to being two peas in a pod people learn to shudder when they hear the distinctive "YAH YOOK SUNGJAE" "YOO SOPHIE"  that signifies that the two have reunited somewhere backstage. Everyone, even the fans, known that the two are best friends (and you better believe there's ships) and are also objectively the worst together. Put Sophie and Sungjae together in a room and you can bet nothing productive will happen. They're not always loud and mischievous, sometimes they just chill and Sophie takes out her guitar and they have improvised many stupid songs together, but sometimes they decide to take the guitar around and serenade their idol acquaintances in a sometimes less than respectful manner, or sometimes tey're just up to no good and accidentally break a piece of equipment and pretend they totally didn't, or get so lost in something silly like learn how to juggle and almost miss the going on stage cue, or sometimes they just accidentally lock themselves in somewhere that one's always a classic. Whatever it is, trouble and scolding is never far behind.

Contrary to popular believe they really can be serious occasinally. Sophie likes to show him her songs in progress and get his opinion and while there's still definitely goofing around, he does help her wth ideas, and she helps him when he's working on something. She's also roped him into recording a cover for her channel with her which got him into trouble with Cube for not running the content by them first. Whoops. Their friendship is very easygoing and costs no effort at all. They're often going from bantering back and forth to being platonically affectionate and then back to friendly insults. 

Sophie's feelings for Sungjae have been growing for quite a while now. They're sneaky and crept up on her until she looked at him and went 'well '. She'd caught the feelings, now what? She's afraid of acting on her feelings because their friendship is just too perfect and also she believes she's cursed when it comes to dates but she's caught the feels bad. And I'll leave the rest to you :D I feel like she'd be so worried about the whole dating thing but in the end things just happen naturally like they have an unexpected moment and a smooch and she's just like "oh". 
 

TRIVIA: 
- Sophie got quite a few antis because of her well-known friendship with Sungjae from people who ship him with Joy.
- Before she realized she caught the feels if anyone would be like 'you guys would be so cute together' she'd be like 'what? This guy? Not even ew gross!". After she got the feels it'd be more like "Whaaat *cough* nope ahem nah never not even nope........"
- She likes to mess with him by naming different members of his group as her ideal type except for him.
- She gets along quite well with BtoB, especially Eunkwang and Changsub who are both pretty silly and cheerful themselves. Even though Eunkwang is the leader it's usually Minhyuk or Ilhoon who's like oh god no Sophie is here someone drag Sungjae away before we lose them.
- Some of their stupid exploits have made some very funny YouTube videos on her channel to the chagrin of Cube.
- She tries to teach him English sometimes and her accent and slang fascinates him.

As for suggestions, the new Ladies'Code EP is altogether beautiful, especially Galaxy and Chaconne, with 3 members that could be a Grace thing or Purfles' 1 2 3. Oh and BESTie's Excuse Me is super fun and summery with 4 members, and Girl's Day's Don't Forget Me might fit Day Dream well. Also Fiestar's Mirror slays and might be good for and might be good for Beautiful Nightmare, as is Rania's Just Go. These are all just suggestions tough feel free to totally ignore them xD
