capteavating! — kang haneul!

kang, haneul, 2nd yr
_november, briana, 8/10
name kang haneul
NicknAME + 연예인 ( yeonaein / celebrity ) ; all the cafe employees call her this teasingly. she's pretty modest with her 'fame', but people joke around about it all the time with her. when she comes in, they're like 'omo omo isn't that kang haneul? omg!' and they like fake fangirl over her and they're like 'omo yeonaein!' *pretends to take pictures* + 공주병 ( gongjubyeong / princess disease ) ; yes, sometimes she's modest, but other times she likes joining in with the jokes and strutting into the cafe like 'yes bow down to me kang haneul has entered'. and if someone's like 'oh my queen how may i serve you?' and she's like 'hohohoh yes my slave go fetch me a caramel latte' and they're like 'oh no gongjubyeong has been released. be careful everyone it could be contagious --' + 흥퀸 ( heung queen / excitement queen ) ; she gives very good reactions because she has a very lame sense of humor so pretty much everything is funny to her. excitement is another way to say reaction, but she does get excited easily. she's pretty easily impressed and she's known for bringing the mood up a lot. people usually just bring this up when she gets excited - 'ohmy heung queen has come'. all her friends call her this. + happy virus ; pretty self - explanatory. her smile and laugh are super contagious and she's just always positive and always happy and her aura is just uplifting to lots of people. the term virus is very appropriate for lots of people since she's good at spreading her happiness, especially since she has a kind of ditzy happiness that make people have no choice but to smile. pretty much everyone recognizes her as this. + 막네 ( maknae ) ; this is only used if she actually is the maknae of the cafe employees, but yeah it's pretty self explanatory. this is just what she's called when she's needed instead of her name. 'oi, maknae, can you go take this to table 5?' 'oi, maknae, it's your turn for the trash today!' 'oi, maknae, can you clear table 3?'

appearance lots of things about haneul are long and slender - her fingers, her legs, her face, and her body shape in general. at 172 cm, she towers over a number of people with her long legs. she keeps herself at a steady 52 kg and she has dark brown hair that reaches just below her chest. she looks kind of average but if you really look at her, her face tends to radiate with natural beauty. usually, the only makeup she wears on a daily basis is some eyeliner and tinted chapstick.
traits + lighthearted ; easygoing ; compassionate ; empathetic ; broadminded ; selfless
? observant ; humorous ; playful ; creative ; mannerful
insecure ; closed off ; assuming ; hypocritical ; insensitive ; indecisive
personality haneul is a people pleaser. she doesn't really like admitting it, because it makes her sound pathetic, but she is. she's not the best at taking hate and is easily discouraged, even if someone's criticism is meant to be constructive. she sort of strives for perfection, which is impossible, and she knows that, but she still tries, which she understands is a problem. her want to please everyone makes her kind of insecure - oh no, what if they took that the wrong way? omg i didn't say thank you loud enough they probably think i'm rude. omg i didn't mean to say that but now they're walking away so it's too late! she worries a lot about what people think of her and she gets anxious a lot and lowkey has anxiety problems. she kind of worries a lot about what people think about her and finds even more reason to worry because she herself thinks she's very socially awkward. she knows that no conversation will go as planned like it's a script and so she doesn't like doing public things like ordering food or omg asking questions. she kind of lacks common sense and doesn't like when people make her ask people stuff because knowing her, it'd take more than one question for her to understand. however, she wants to overcome the slight social anxiety and thinks capteavating is the perfect place to practice. she's still kind of awkward, but she's starting to embrace it as her charm. no one really knows about this insecure side of her since she's very closed off to others. she doesn't want to burden them with her problems, especially since she herself sometimes gets put in awkward situations when she doesn't know what to do or say to someone who's struggling. this awkwardness brings good things, too, however. she hates being in the middle of fights ( awkward situations !! ) because she hates choosing sides and making decisions, but this dislike for tense atmospheres makes her a very good peacemaker. not when a fight is actually verbally happening physically in front of her, but if someone comes to her and rants in an attempt to calm down, she's very good at calming them down and reminding them of the consequences that could occur that wouldn't be beneficial to anyone. however, at times, she can be assuming and insensitive. she assumes in what other people think of her. due to her great need / want to please others, she believes that as long as her intentions are positive, people will accept her, so she thinks 'oh, what if that offended them? meh, well i didn't mean it in that way. and if they bother me about it i can jusxt explain what i meant.' because of this mindset, she can sometimes be insensitive as to what others think and she may not realize if she's actually hurt them. this also kind of makes her hypocritical, because sometimes she knows people are joking, but she still gets kind of upset sometimes and wants an apology, but then she expects others to not be as affected as she might have been.
putting aside the more sensitive side of her, the more dominant side of haneul that everyone is familiar with is the easygoing side. haneul's aura is very laidback, which is appropriate for her. she's very go-with-the-flow and very broadminded and accepting of everyone. since family situations kind of caused her to mature quicker than others, she understands that people can go through stuff and that life is hardly ever dandy. people love ranting to her because she's a great listener - very empathetic and comforting. she hasn't gone through everything herself but her broadmindedness helps her to be even more empathetic and she tries her best to understand people and usually can only imagine how people feel, but even if she just says that, the other person feels comforted because it's really genuine. she really is able to understand what people can be going through and how they'd be feeling and that's just very comforting to people. her good listening skils also branch from her lightheartedness. people aren't really scared to tell her anything since she's trustworthy and she understands that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, so she's open to anyone being able to do anything. she's a very compassionate person and loves helping people and always will - which is where her observantness comes in handy. she notices lots of little things about people and she notices the little people. if she sees someone struggling out of the corner of her eye, she'll assist them and if someone's in a situation where they can't openly say they're uncomfortable, she'll step in. in situations like these, where someone's like idk goodwill depends on it, she finds herself less socially awkward. if it's necessary for her to take charge, she definitely will. she's considerate and selfless in this way - always putting people's needs before her own and adjusting herself to people's personalities, working hard not to offend them and to make them comfortable.
honestly though, putting aside the insecurity and all that stuff, she's a child at heart, really - playful and humorous. she loves having fun, which she always does at capteavating. she loves pulling harmless pranks, she loves making lame puns, she loves goofing off with people, she loves making people smile. she's just the typical kindhearted girl on the street, but a tad bit weirder. her creativity isn't really a surprise, since she herself is like an abstract work of art - her snarky cackle / laugh, her love for miniature things, her inability to cook, her lame sense of humor - all these weird things don't really match up, but it still makes a picture people appreciate. and plus you gotta be creative when it comes to fashion. she's mannerful because she just is. she's the girl who helps the random grandma with her groceries, the girl who says hi to the babies and dogs on the streets, the girl who always buys chocolate from whatever little kid on the street ( how do you reject them omg ). her indecisiveness is just a random negative trait - she can not make decisions for her life due to her broadmindedness and her wide spectrum of perspectives. she knows her indecisiveness sometimes bothers people who are more simple minded and just want her to choose one, but it's something she constantly struggles with.
trivia + LIKES miniature things, babies, ice cream, nice jawlines, people who have passions and work for it, pastel colors, the smell of capteavating, jeon jungkook, spicy chips, sour candy, cool words ( she got a pinterest board full of em ), when guys roll their sleeves up to their elbows with something on their wrist, fruity drinks, trying new things, cheese in meokbangs
— dislikes whipped cream, cream cheese, ketchup, sauces in general unless necessary for the food, being unkept ( whipped cream on her cheek and coffee grinds on her shirt isn't considered unkept though ),aegyo, super cutesy girls who try too hard, cheese

[ numberonefashion.com | khaneul | 4.5k followers ] haneul is a fashion blogger, which explains all the nicknames and such. her website is numberonefashion.com, because her name, haneul, sounds like hana, which is one in korean. her instagram, twitter, and snapchat, which all have about 85k followers, are all khaneul. she's pretty well known, which brings quite a bit of publicity to capteavating. however, she usually keeps it on the down low because she thinks the quiet and cozy atmosphere of the cafe is its comforting charm. she started fashion blogging at the beginning of high school, so the buzz has died down over the year. her classmates treat her normally now, with the exceptional new student or something, and the employees have gotten over it as well, especially after they really got to know her. now they just wonder how such a weird, quirky girl could deceive 4.5k people into thinking she's normal.
* [ "just one sip!" ] she's always pestering yoongi to let her try some of a mojito he's made, but seokjin always ends up finding out and stopping yoongi ( who couldn't care less, honestly. "seokjin, just let her be. i'm trying to prepare her for the outside world!" *haneul eagerly nods*  ) from sneaking her a taste. "no yoongi omg that's not even your own that's for table 7. go give it to them haneul! stop trying to violate our health hazards."
* [ f4 ] the capteavating employees have a dream team consisting of four people - haneul, mei, seokjin, and yoongi. they're a pretty tightknit group of friends and they've grown to have a compatibility that's almost telepathetic, which makes work a breeze. they're always keeping an eye out for each other and they're good at knowing what someone needs and when someone needs it and people marvel at their teamwork. it's a lowkey kind of teamwork, but nonetheless, there's no group of employees like them. come on, it's even a perfect ratio - two serving in the front and two baking in the back.
* [ walking jukebox ] haneul is usually in charge of the music at capteavating. she loves kpop - it's pretty much her life next to fashion - and if she can't land a job in the fashion industry, the entertainment industry is definitely next on her list. she enjoys singing and is most always singing along to whatever song is playing in the cafe, AS WElL AS DANCING. NOT FULL OUT DANCING, BUT SHE LIKES moving with her shoulders and stuff.
* [ i am a potato ] haneul has been forever single. sure, she's had quite a number of boys try to court her, but none of them piked her interests. it's not like she has high standards - she's liked probably just as many boys as have liked her, but they've pretty much been 98% one sided. she always jokes about her singleness and how she wants a man, but she's honestly scared to be in a relationship. not just the loyalty, but the foreignness of it all. she'd be so new to everything and doesn't know what kind of guy would want to be patient with her through it all and she doesn't know what kind of guy she'd be able to feel comfortable being so...vulnerable...? around. and plus she's lowkey insecure about liking people because it's always been unrecquited (??) so like she'd probably like them a lot more than they liked her. and who wants to deal with someone who gets jealous easily? because that's haneul. her insecurity comes into play, too, because she's like omg what if he's just acting like he hates her?? what if he likes her ohmy and she's so much prettier grr stay away from my namja cries. and fun fact : her favorite word is potato.
* [ creepy crawlies ] haneul has a deathly fear of spiders. pretty much anything that can crawl or has little thin breakable legs or panicky wings or whatever can creep her out, but spiders are a good generalization. but here's where you've got to understand - it's legitly a deathly fear. she can not handle spiders. her mom used to make her take out the trash at night, when the spiders came out of the nooks and crannies, and it wasn't like haneul could ask her mom to kill the spiders because her mom would always get upset for some reason, so haneul had to go through with it herself. she'd try her best to hold in her tears as they taunted her from their webs. she failed to keep in her emotions and ended up just hyperventilating for a good 5 minutes after she finished the task. this fear carries onto the cafe where she almost spilled coffee on a customer after thinking she saw a spider out of the corner of her eye.
* [ ggomaengi / little kid ] yeah she's nice and kind and caring and all that, but more than anything, haneul loves having fun, especially with those she's close to. her way of 'expressing her love for people' is through being sarcastic. she loves being sarcastic. i may have not expounded on that in the personality section but that's kind of what i meant by playful. she loves joking around and pulling harmless pranks on people and this trivia thing is called little kid because she's like a sassy little kid sometimes. she loves imitating people omg. but she's funny about it. someone can be like 'ugh i'm full' and then they'll continue eating and then she'll use her weird imitating voice and be like 'ugh, i'm full' and it's just her way of poking fun. but literally, she imitates people all the time lol. but yeah. her humor is kind of like a little kid - lame puns, imitating people, teasing playfully, etc. all harmless stuff.
* [ street cents? sense? ] she kind of lacks common sense. she's kind of a ditz sometimes, but it's more of a charm than something to look down on. hmm i shall use real life examples bc this character is basically me. her mom's car stopped and they borrowed someone's car jack and the person told them they shouldn't stop the car until about 30 minutes. the trio ( mom, haneul, sister ) is driving and they reach a stop light. haneul's like, "wait, can't we not stop?" her mom and sister kind of just stare at her in some sort of awe - "we just can't turn the car off, you idiot!!". that was the first time her mother laughed. out loud. at her. sighpies. and once her mother told her to heat something up on the stove, but it was in one of those ceramic bowls. haneul was like "how do i heat it up?" her mom was like "...well, can you put that on the stove?" not getting the slight sarcasm, haneul stares and replies by putting the ceramic bowl on the stove. "like this?" you know what, this was probably the first time haneul's mom laughed out loud at her. and there's just lots of instances where she catches on late or has one of those "...ooooooohhhhhhh !!!" moments. and like money wise, too. friend : "oh that's $30!" haneul : "...is that good...or...?" also for things like how things work. haneul : "oh, that's what it's here for?!" friend : "what did you think it was for omg" and like haneul : "oh you're supposed to clean those?" friend : "yeah, like every two weeks, man ohmy" haneul : "oh, that's what he meant by 'you're gonna need one'! i thought it was a suggestion hah." friend : *Facepalms*
* [ "but you work at a cafe" "shh" ] she can not cook. for her life. the kitchen is probably where she lacks the most common sense. she would love to learn baking, though. and there are times where she thinks it's easy. "it's just a waffle iron - how hard can it be?" but it's kind of hopeless. very hopeless. which is why she just serves and rings up the food. what is a waffle iron. sigh. who knows how she got this job.
* [ "howw??!!" ] she's really good at useless things - like phone games and picking things up with her feet lol and stuff. literally all her talents are ueless.people get upset when she beats them in games because like she ain't even a gamer what the heck man.

lifestyle everyday is kind of a routine. she wakes up, has a small breakfast, washes up, takes the bus to school, does her studies, takes the bus to work, works, takes the bus back home ( or gets a ride from a friend ), does her homework, eats dinner, washes up, goes to sleep. the basic routine of a high school student. her grades are fine - high enough to keep her at a fair spot between the average students and the a+ students. she doesn't do anything special at school, like clubs or anything, she just does what she needs to. no miss class president or swimming club for her - that's not her thing. her thing is fashion and food. yes, she is a capteavating employee ( cashier / server ), and she works mondays - thursdays from 3 - 7. she updates her fashion blog every friday ( things like reviews, vlogs, pictures, etc. ) and is always looking at new trends during her free time and such. it's a pretty average life, made fun and exciting by the friends she meets at capteavating.
capteavating order she'll bounce between a strawberry crepe, strawberry shaved ice, or a macaron for the munches. for a drink - when it's cold, a white chocolate mocha. when it's hot, a mango peach smoothie.
background when haneul was 4, her parents divorced. they fought since before she was even born, so the separation was probably the best idea. haneul, her mom, and her sister ended up moving in with haneul's grandparents in apgujeong. things were smooth sailing until haneul's older sister got into high school. puberty was happening and family issues didn't help. haneul's grandpa started getting sick and seemed to constantly be in the hospital. there was one time where he started having a high fever and kept saying he was cold while he sweated buckets. it was around 10:30pm on a school night. haneul and her mom hustled him into the car, leaving haneul's sister to stay behind with grandma. at the hospital, more family members came, like her aunt and uncle, and then her uncle took haneul home since she had school the next day, with mom staying at the hospital. haneul ended up not going to school for a few days after that. on november 19th, 2014, haneul's grandpa passed away. this hit the family hard. haneul's mom got skinnier, grandma was distressed, and haneul and her sister were having a hard time concentrating in school. haneul went through about 6 months of mild depression, but soon got over it thanks to prayer, friends, and more. things were seemingly well again, but then the next school year came along - haneul's sister was going into college. money had never been abundant, tuition was high, standards were almost unreachable. haneul's sister and her mom got into fights a lot, and haneul's sister's emotional status had never been stable. one day, she left the house ( she told her mom and haneul beforehand, though ) to clear her mind, sleeping over at her aunt's house. when she came back, everyone had really had time to think, and now, in 2016, haneul's starting to see the bigger picture of things. all these hardships and obstacles had only served to bring her family closer than ever. of course no family is perfect - they're all dysfunctional. but haneul's learned that. the hard way, maybe. but she's still learned.
overall, i just wanted to pinpoint the events in her life that caused her to mature quicker than most, which she did. even though it wasn't really officially acknowledged, ever since her dad left her life at age 4, the maturing had started. her family in general lacked men - she had all girl cousinns, her mom only had sisters ( two ), and with her grandpa and dad gone, her house is all girls. the only guys she has are her two uncles and a 4 and three quarter year old cousin. so evidently, she had to take charge in the household. her older sister, like previously mentioned, had never been emotionally stable, nor was she physically strong. haneul was the one for the job - she brought in all the groceries, she learned from her engineer uncle how to control the sprinklers, she built all the simple necessities in their house, etc.
extra little random paragraph note : she works at capteavating ultimately to make money. her mom is a teacher and her sister works on campus, so haneul feels like she should try to contribute to the family as well since their income isn't too glamorous. so her first goal was to just have an income, but now she values all the relationships she's built at the cafe as well.

family choi mikyung | 51 | mother | haneul's mom isn't really the type to be open with her emotions either ( like mother like daughter ), so haneul's usually the one initiating the hugs and 'i love you''s and all that. the two joke around a lot and the ahjumma may be old, but she has a sense of umor - a cruel one. she's super sassy and is always talking about the million dolllar debt her daughters owe her in return for raising them and if haneul wants something, mikyung's the 'what's-in-it-for-me' type. but overall, even if she does occasionally ask her daughter 'do you want to die', she's a very loving mother.
kang seulgi | 20 | sister | these two are probably the weirdest sisters you'll ever see. they're actually really close - closer than most siblings - and they're together a lot and they have the same lame sense of humor and they just goof around a lot together. they've always been the most comfortable around each other than even their best friends and lots of people envy their healthy relationship. they almost never fight anymore ( prolly bc they fought everyday as little elementary school kids and they have nothing to fight over anymore ).
Friends min yoongi | 18 | part one of dream team !! at first glance, haneul knew he'd be a tough nut to crack. he's a sarcastic, lazy grandpa with cruel humor, but haneul appreciates that. he brings out the mischevious side of her ( which seokjin always works to keep hidden - "no, you can not put whipped cream in their mojito ok i don't care if it makes the strawberry look pretty" ) and she brings out the hyperness in him. they bicker a lot since they're both sassy and stubborn when it comes to lame competitions like these but they also lowkey complete each other. she's constantly smiling and being hyper ( which he wonders at - "how does she have the energy to be kind? how does she have energy? ) and he sometimes can't help but to shake his head and smile or cackle at her lack of common sense. they'll either be fighting or scheming things togehter - no in between. he contributes to dream team with skills like his efficiency in drink making ( which roots from his spite for complaining customers ) and his ability to understand haneul's foreign language used when she's rushing and can't get her words right.
kim seokjin | 18 | part two of dream team !! while yoongi and haneul make plans to take over the world, seokjin is running practically the whole ground by himself and he finishes just in time to stop the two mischevious students before they 'accidentally' food poison someone. he's like a big brother / mother figure to haneul and always takes care of her whenever and however he can. he's very good at adapting to people's personalities, and so he contributes to dream team in the same way yoongi does with his ability to understand haneul even through just a glance. like her, he's observant, so he's always keeping an eye on her from afar and if she needs a helping hand, he rushes in and he's always making sure customers don't bother her and he's, like, the protective type who doesn't want boys flirting with her and is like "you are forever 10 in my eyes" "seokjin you didn't even know me when i was 10" "shh child". he contributes to dream team with things like his ability to understand haneul and his skill of smooth talking, which comes in handy when haneul gets panicky over picky customers.
anju mei | 17 | part three of dream team !! mei is usually kind of awkward around girls but with haneul, it's different. the two actually have pretty compatible personalitites. haneul's been exposed to the ups and downs of mei's personality and has adjusted herself accordingly. the two are very comfortable with each other and haneul understands mei's inferior feelings towards others and works hard to never let mei feel like she should stop talking! they actually match very well - haneul's a great listener and mei's the talker. it's perfect for when mei needs someone to rant to. haneul's also always there to sooth mei with some words and warnings when a customer is getting on mei's nerves. basically, the two complete each other. mei contributes to dream team with charms like her hard work and ethics and haneul can always count on mei to 'coincidentally' give haneul a message from her 'boyfriend' when some creepy customer is trying to hit on the dark - haired lass. note : however close yoongi and haneul are, haneul sees the spark he has with mei and ships them to the max omg knows when to back off enough so that mei doesn't get jealous. i mean, a girl can be jealous, right? like. come on. definitely.
jung hoseok | 18 | if haneul's a ray of sunshine, hoseok is like a whole ball of heat energy that is just like idk spazzing and it just kind of outshines ( heh see what i id there ) her little self. he treats her like a little sister as well and is always like 'ooohhhhh omg my cute little haneul - ie look at her little apron ahhh i feel like a proud mother say hello to papa *ruffles her hair*'. he loves squeezing the life out of her and poking her and he's just pretty skinshippy in general. it's not a flirty touchy, but more of a protective touchy. she's the annoyed daughter who's like 'ugh mom you're embarassing' but she loves his positive energy and they're very similar in that happy virus way.
kim namjoon | 18 | haneul admires this boy so much ohmy. his stle and his intelligence and his sophisticated aura just pulls her in. of course she knows how much of a dork he really is, and she loves joking around with him and making fun of his ability to destruct things so easily and they joke around a lot, but he's one of those special people she's not sarcastic towards. she openly compliments him and he compliments her back and they just have a very nice mutual friendship.
park jimin | 17 | jiminnie !!! honestly haneul really wants him to start officially working and she doesn't know why he doesn't apply, but whatever. he's such a sweet little boy and he doesn't ruin it like jungkook's sassiness does. he never fails to brighten up haneul's mood if she's ever feeling slightly down and they just have a very fluffy relationship. he's like a precious little baby to her, even though he's older, and she's like some petite girl he really cherises, even though she towers quite a bit over him. she's rarely sarcastic to him, too, and is usually seen taking his side when jungkook teases him.
kim taehyung | 17 | these two are lowkey partners in crime. their quirkiness is similar and she actually understands him pretty well and she loves seeing his reactions to the new foods he tries and she's not really sarcastic to him, either, probably because they get along so well. they have a healthy amount of inside jokes and they have the type of relationship where people are like 'oh yeah, they're kind of similar' but then when they see how many jokes they share, it's like 'oh whoa who knew they were so close'.
people | age is but a number lolz | i just wanted to show how haneul kind of gets along with everyone because of her easily compatible personality. she's lowkey very lovable and just like how she adjusted herself to mei's personality and insecurities, she does that to everyone else she interacts with, which makes her a very good friend and server ( she doesn't want to make her customers fel anything but at home !! )

jeon, jungkook, 1st yr

AGE 09/01 + 1st + 16
PERSONALITY "yeah, he's a sweet guy". that's the most anyone outside the group of 7 boys can say about jeon jungkook. and don't get me wrong, it's accurate. he's loyal and caring and is good at taking care of others, even though he's so young. he's similar to haneul in the maturity that is above his age and the people pleasing, though he's less intense about it than haneul. he just likes helping people and was raised by parents with good intentions and ethics, so he let's those guide how he lives his life. he's a determined, hard working boy and won't stop at something until he gets is. and being golden maknae, he most usually gets it. ok, and sure he's all sweet and stuff, but more than anything, jungkook loves to have fun. he's mischevious and playful and loves playing around with jimin, who is hyung but definitely does not seem like hyung. he's the typical teenage boy, and the kid in him definitely makes an appearance often. however, that can be a bad thing, too. he can sometimes be immature, blunt, slightly selfish, and stubborn. usually these traits come out without him knowing, so he's never intentionally selfish or stubborn. sometimes he can just get carried away when placing himself above others as a joke - pride is always an issue, too. he gets attention and he knows it. it's all the little issues hormonal, good looking teens  go through - except he's definitely more mature about it all than others. he's like the type if someone were to tell him off, he'd accept it and go into, like, self - reflection. ya feel?
lifestyle he's around the same rankings as haneul - above the average, but below the best. thank goodness he's golden maknae so he can balance all his club activities - he's keeping straight a's, he's in basketball, he's in track. ok so it's only 3 but whatever. basketball is tuesdays and thursdays after school and track is mondays and wednesdays. he tends to come into capteavating all sweaty and in his basketball shorts, motioning to haneul that he needs a cold refreshing drink fast. he's pretty well known amongst teachers and students alike - mostly girls, though. amongst the good manners he was taught, jungkook was always told to respect girls and treat them well no matter how snarky they may be. of course, most girls mistake it for him having interest in them ( which is almost 100% wrong - they're all the snarky ones he's just extra nice to for his mom's sake ) and there are some rumors floating around about him being a heartbreaker. capteavating has always been a cool place for him to hang out with friends, and he started going there about halfway through first year. he'll sometimes come in after practice just for a quick drink to go, but most of the time, he's there to study or just hang out with friends - but he's almost never alone.

history haneul, despite being a few months younger than jungkook, is a whole grade older than him. she started her job and her blogging about halfway into 1st year, so she was well into it all by the time jungkook started coming to high school. jungkook had been going to capteavating throughout the summer of his transition to high school, so he noticed the new face almost immediately and pointed it out to taehyung. "is she a new worker?" taehyung looked over and his eyes lit up in recognition. "oh yeah - you don't know her? she's lowkey famous, man. some fashion thing, i think - like 2.5k followers? but she's cool." despite taehyung insisting that she was chill, jungkook's first thought was that she'd be stuck up because of the whole fame thing. and he genuinely thought she was ( and what a shame. she really was pretty ). why? well what do you think when you see her serving someone with a big smile on her face and then turning around and letting her smile fade as she rolls her eyes to the back of her head and blinks hard, looking annoyed. "wow, what a fake." he thought, dismayed. turns out he was completely wrong. haneul had started her period that day and was trying her best to ignore her intense cramps in order to give her customers the best service. when she turned around, she was tired, not annoyed. she hadn't gotten a good night's sleep because the pain was keeping her awake. she blinked hard, trying to salvage her contacts that were getting dryer by the second. in that same visit, she neared taehyung and jungkook's table, and giving taehyung a weak smile of recognition, she fainted right next to jungkook's seat. the boy panicked and didn't know what to do, and regrets it to this day, the fact that he just stood there in shock while taehyung called out to seokjin for help. haneul was sent home that day early, driven by another male employee ( which jungkook found himself not liking for some reason ), and jungkook went home with her constantly on his mind. he even confessed to taehyung about it the next day at school about how bad he felt for not reacting quicker. taehyung insisted it was okay and hey man just apologize the next time you see her. and like the man he is, jungkook chickened out. it wasn't until a few days later at the cafe again where he tentatively asked if she was okay. it took her a moment to register what he was talking about, then, remembering that he was with taehyung when she fainted, she smiled and nodded, assuring him that she was fine. to be honest, she normally wouldn't have remembered his presence, but when he came in with taehyung she was like whoo hottie with a body wowie. they both started off with feelings of admiration towards each other - him because of her dedication to her job and her because of his ethereal looks, and then they continued on to have whatever feelings they have throughout a majority of their relationship - her being slightly wary of him and him just continuing to admire her more and more. and note : after that incident, he's always been weary of her when she's on her period. it's inconspicuous, but he's always keeping an eye on her.
relationship
jungkook may have been proved wrong in terms of his negative impressions on haneul, but vice versa? not so much. yeah, he was definitely good looking, but the admiration slowly faded when she started hearing the rumors of him being a player. and to her, the title fit him. especially since she sensed him trying to flirt with her - which he kind of was. it was kind of his mistake - jungkook hadn't liked a girl in so long, and now she was making him feel weird things when she smiled at him, gave him a drink on the house, greeted him in the hallways, etc. he didn't know how to react, and from what he recalled, girls like a guy who takes initiative. so that's what he tried to do. he tried to be macho and win her over with smirks and a bad boy attitude, but he got her all wrong. haneul's the type who likes genuine guys, and fake macho jungkook did not seem genuine. he kept trying to flirt with her, thinking she liked it, but when it became clearer that she wasn't digging the style,  he slowed to a stop. this stop was also encouraged by a talk they had. he questioned her one day if he was attractive in any way to her and she honestly replied that sorry, she wasn't interested. she explained how she didn't like guys who had that macho attitude who thought they could get any girl with one wink and how she doesn't appreciate being seen as the typical girl who would fall for that. basically, jungkook didn't make the best first impression on her. after realizing this, he was pretty distressed - how was he supposed to show his genuine interest and attraction for her after messing up so much? from then on, he decided. he was going to be as genuine as possible and prove her wrong about the way she thought of him. he went up to her soon after the somewhat rejection and proclaimed his love for her, in an attempt to restart their relationship, said the most truthful sentence of his entire life. "kang haneul, i am most definitely interested in you and i understand you may not have the same feelings towards me after how i assumed i could draw you in by acting like that and i apologize and i also hereby declare that i'm going to prove to you just how genuine i am." then he proceeded to hurry out of the cafe, not returning for the whole day. what a wimp. but he kept his word. after that day, he was totally and brutally honest to haneul. ok, maybe brutally isn't the best word, but he definitely spoke his mind about her, which was weird for her because no guy had ever expressed his feelings for her like this. he would come in pretty much everyday and comment on how nice she looked that day. she'd catch him staring at her sometimes, but he wouldn't even be ashamed - he'd just smile brightly at her. if her shirt was just a little too low, he'd frown and express his discontent in the thought of any other guy looking at her in an inappropriate way. sometimes, he'd randomly point out little things he liked about her and other times, he'd tell her to "laugh more. i like seeing you smile." he was just very straightforward with her, but at the same time, he respected her space. he rarely ever touched her in any way that could be found inappropriate. the most he did was toss her hair as she passed by, poke her cheek whie she spaced out, flick some dust off of her shoulder - the little stuff. at first, haneul tried to ignore him because it seemed like he was just trying to seek attention, but as she observed him, she started to see something in the way he looked at her and she started to feel things when he complimented her and she started to get giddy when he did minimal skinship with her. jungkook would walk her home sometimes because he didn't feel okay letting her go home herself. he'd jog to catch up with her during passing period and he'd shout a hello to her as she passed by the basketball courts on her way to the bus. and then they started hanging out outside of the cafe and school. she was starting to become more accepting and lenient of the way he treated her ( because at first, she tried to act like she didn't like it and continued to keep that facade up ) and he finally gathered up the courage to ask her on a date. she hesitantly accepted and he took her out on her ideal date. she wasn't the type to like the whole cheesy, romantic vibe - she just liked to have fun. and they did have fun. it was different than what she expected, because he didn't try to flirt even more now that she was alone, it was just like two friends hanging out. he didn't compliment her or make her embarrassed by staring at her so intensely, but it was just like an outing with a good friend. they spent pretty much the whole day together, and as it neared dark, they went to a little cat cafe that opened till late and just chilled and talked. at the cafe, they really got to know each other and they formed a bond that night, surrounded by all the cats, pretty much isolated as it got closer to closing hours.

scene requests
+ so mei's usually the one to help haneul with customers who TRY TO SEE IF SHE'S AVAILABLE OR NOT, but one day, jungkook, who HAS BECOME MORE ACKNOWLEDGING in his feelings for her, DECIDES TO STEP UP. MEI SLIDES UP, LIKE "HEY, HANEUL, YOUR BOYFRIEND SAID TO MAKE SURE TO MEET HIM OUTSIDE DURING YOUR BREAK!" and then jungkook comes in and like slides an arm around her like "yeah. i'll be waiting." then he tries to be cool about it and like smirk, but he ends up kind of running away.
+ so in the spider trivia thing, a customer was mentioned. that customer was none other than jeon jungkook. the time it happened, he just kind of laughed it off, like 'hah i guess she doesn't like spiders'. but as he got to know her, he realized how lethal the fear was to her health. if any type of bug landed on her, she'd cover her face and stiffen up, becoming paralyzed and she'd start hyperventilating / crying until someone got it off for her. so of course he sees this happen and he's just like omg i must protect this girl.
+ he's usually never alone at capteavating, but there's this one day he is and haneul gives him his drink and he's just reading a book and she's like 'where's the company?' and he's just like 'idk. can it be you?' and like this is when he's confused over how he feels towards her but anyways she's on break soon so she does hang out with him and it's like heheh.
+ it's a cold ish day and haneul's hands get cold easily and like the two are hanging out and then he like grabs her hands and puts them in his pockets and ack.
+ cute outings with everyone omg like noraebang dates and double dates and mt's.
+ jungkook getting caught staring at haneul ( by anyone ) heh.
+ haneul beating maknae line at a game and them crying in despair.
+ going to a cat cafe is my dream so like omg if you gon write that scene make it v cute. and then like what if he like buys a cat for her !! and then we can make haneul's sister allergic to cat hair ( which she actually is irl lol ), so they can't keep it at her house, and so jungkook's like fine then i'll keep it and i guess you'll just have to come visit me whenever you want to see it hehehe.
Password hmm. tin + doof. except the snowmen part and the pokemon thing lol.
questions & comments just to clear some stuff up !! so i put her age as 16 because she has a late birthday !! she's still a 2nd year, just a very young one. and i know it was optional to fill out the family section, and i have now made it optional for you to read it lol. i just put it there for reference. they're definitely important people to haneul, but i mean they don't really have a huge part in this plot so yeah. agh i just hope you love her. i just hope you got the whole 'ball of sunshine' vibe from her like you mentioned in the brownie points, because most of my characters tend to be that and i hope it was like emphasized enough. ack. and i hope jungkook's personality wasn't too vague...lol i didn't want to write too much for it.
