What I've Learned About Writing
- If you're trying to do 'research' about it, watching doesn't help. It's 'stimulating', to say the least, but it doesn't do much if you're looking for something that's really comprehensive. I've tried this route, I can't say it's been a fruitful attempt.
- Reading up on advice from legit sources helps. I'm not talking about Cosmo or men's magazine (although you do find gems once in a while). I'm talking about legit medical practitioners. You get a better scope of how really works while getting legit education at the same time.
- Try to veer away from the typical, get >tongue-battle>oral >full blown pattern. I noticed it makes the whole thing seem mechanical.
- is about becoming vulnerable to another person. It won't hurt if your characters will stumble through the process every now and then, even a little clumsy and less self-assured OR if YOU are actually not sure how to go about it. How about using that feeling as your character's 'voice'?
- isn't always the way to go. It's a real challenge as a writer but it's not a MUST HAVE/DO.
P.S. I'm not an expert, these are just the things I've learned along the way. Hope it helps! ^_^
