FASHION STYLE ☆  Jaemi tends to dress in things that are either loose or flowy. She really likes lace and crocheted items, so many of her clothes have that detailing. Her style does not deviate too much between filming and everyday life. She's comfortable in both converse sneakers and high heels. At home though, she tends to be more comfortable, wearing shorts and short dresses. She secretly likes the way her legs look and views them as her best feature, but she doesn't show them all that often. When going outside, she'll wear shorts only in the summer when it's  hot. At all other times, she mostly wears jeans and layers.(cardigans, accesories, and the like). When it comes to dates, she'll actually bring out the skirts, perhaps hoping in an attempt to show off her best feature... For formal wear, she does have several different black dresses of various lengths and styles for special events and promotions held for plays and musicals. 

Her hair is naturally curly from her mom's side of the family and she usually leaves it that way. She'll straighten every  now and then, like if she needs it straight for a play or promotions. Otherwise, she keeps it natural.

GROUP/SOLOIST ☆ Jaemi is a soloist who works mostly as an actress on the stage. She has recorded several songs and MVs for promotions of musicals with fellow cast members, but never has released her own album. She has had several small roles in movies or has done voice work for several  singing roles in animated children's movies. However,these roles are rare as she prefers to work on stage.

EXTRA☆ After studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and having taken several courses at UCLA School for Theater, Film and Television, Jaemi moved back to Korea. There, she applied and auditioned for several roles and companies, performing in small theatres until she was accepted by CJ Entertainment. She debuted in March of 2012 in CJ Entertainment's musical production of "Catch Me If You Can" as Brenda. Though her role was only in the second act of the show, her acting and vocals earned her much recognition, restulting in being cast in larger roles. 

PERSONALITY ☆ 

Jaemi is a hard-worker, always striving to do her best. She has a lot of passion and energy, dedicating a lot of her time outside of rehearsals to perfect her abilities (praciticing dance choreographies, rehearsing scenes, singing the songs, etc). However her tendency to be a perfectionist causes her problems. She sometimes thinks that she can handle more than she ought and becomes frustrated with herself and begins to doubt her abilities. Also, with her dedication, comes a certain puzzlement and irritation when she meets those that don't give their all to their art. If she feels that a fellow cast member is lacksidaisical , it grates on her nerves.

Although she is a hard-worker, she is not a stickler. She is rather spunky and adventurous, always curious to explore new places and things. She is rather dorky and loves to goof around and have fun and always loves a good, playful banter. She really loves to just be quirky and enjoy herself. However, she hides all that to be as professional as she can in the theatre, often resulting in others thinking that she is stuck-up and conceited .

For Jaemi, theatre is both a godsend and a curse. She loves it and thrives in it. However, since it is her job, she feels she must hold it in high regard and must always be professional in it, even though her inner self would love to just let loose and enjoy the adventure of the theatre, like she did when she was younger. She tends to forget that theatre is 'play'. She should feel free on stage, but instead almost feels stifled.

Her tongue is a bit quick at times. While her forth-coming nature does instill in others trust towards her honesty, it has gotten her into trouble, bordering on (or being just complete) bluntness. On top of that, she can be a bit sarcastic at times... However, once she discovers that she has offended someone, she will go out of her way to make it right. 

Studying people and characters has caused her to be intuitive and discerning when it comes to situations and others. She can often pick up on other people's thoughts just based on their body language. She does care a lot for others and will go out of her way to comfort or help someone if she notices that they are unwell or not themselves. It is not uncommon for her to drag her family or friends to a coffee shop or out to the park or anywhere she can think of to get them out of their current state of mind and cheer them up. 

She is stubborn. When she feels that she in the right, she has a hard time backing down. 

She may seem quiet at first, watching other people and discerning their personalities, but she won't hesitate in taking the initiative in introducing herself and giving her all in any given situation. With friends, she is quite talkative and quirky.

— When she's not on stage, she always wears a bracelet or watch on her left hand. If she doesn't, she feels  almost . 
— She is not an easy crier. The only time anyone ever sees her cry is when it's on stage.

— Has only dated a few times in high school. She hasn't really dated since then because she's focused so much on the theatre. She's acutally liked some of her fellow cast members over the years, but because she's always so professional about theatre, she never pursued a relationship with any of them, not even indicating any sort of liking towards them. She tried dating a few 'normal' or 'less popular idols' but discovered right away they weren't interested in her as a person.

the history and the people of my life

BACKGROUND ☆ 

Jaemi was born in Boseong, South Korea to Baek Kwon and Baek Tracy. Baek Kwon was a small stage actor and did not make much money, but what he made was enough to provide for their small family. When Jaemi was about four years old, she began to put on shows for her parents in their living room and in their backyard. Her mother worked at a day care and often took Jaemi  there. Jaemi often got the other kids together to dress up and play little stories. At home and in town with her parents, she often would play on her own, pretending to be an explorer or a pirate or an adventurer, (much to her parents' dismay) as she would wander out of their line of site and they would have to find her.

After Jaemi's sister, Jinee, was born, Baek Kwon decided that he needed to get a 'real job' to provide for their growing family. He took courses in medicine and eventually became a pediatrician. 

Her brother, Jaehyun was born a few years later.

As Jaemi continued to grow, her interest in the theatre did as well. All through her middle school and high school years, she participated in numerous plays, both at the schools and at small theatres. As she was approaching her final year in high school, she decided to apply for a scholarship to schools in U.S.A. She was accepted into the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and studied there for several years. 

After studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and having taken several courses at UCLA School for Theater, Film and Television, Jaemi moved back to Korea. During that first production, she met both Kyuhyun of Super Junior and Key of SHINee who rotated in the role of Frank, Jr. She kind of liked Kyuhyun at first because of his mischievous personality. However, because theatre needs to be professional, she tried to ignore him. Kyuhyun actually kind of liked at her at first, but soon found her rude and conceited.

Key and Jaemi actually became friends during this time. Noticing he was rather down one day after rehearsal, she pulled him aside and took him out for coffee and a long walk to get his mind off of things. He realized that she was much more easy-going in real life than at work, and so they became friends. 

Though her role in Catch Me If You Can was only in the second act of the show, her acting and vocals earned her much recognition, restulting in being cast in larger roles in later productions, including High School Musical, Bonnie and Clyde, and  The Scarlet Pimpernel.

Despite her success in the theatre, some critics have recently stated that they believe Baek Jaemi has more potential than what is seen on stage, leading many to question the actress's abilities. The actress herself has begun to work harder in response, but is currently feeling that something is missing...

To change up her routine, she accepted her company's suggestion to accept an offer with We Got Married to promote her acting.

— Mother, Baek Tracy ☆ 49☆ Day care worker ☆ motherly, caring, stubborn, adventurous ☆ strong- they heads since they are both stubborn, but they are mother and daughter and get along pretty well.
— Sister, Baek Jinee ☆ 24☆ stay-at-home mom ☆ loud, fashionista, opinionated, caring ☆ so-so: If they weren't sisters, then they probably wouldn't have been friends. She thinks that Jaemi is too much of a prick for focusing on work so much and constantly pesters her about it. 
— Brother, Baek Jaehyun ☆ 20 ☆ college student ☆ goofy, prankster, caring, carefree, lazy, procrastinator- Good: Jaemi and her brother get along very well. They chill and goof around a lot, though Jaemi often has to remind him that he has papers to write and exams to study for since he tends to put them off. 

FRIENDS ☆

          — Best friend, Jang Eunmi ☆ 26 ☆ makeup artist☆ quirky, silly, adventurous ☆ Eunmi assisted Jaemi with her makeup in some of CJ E&M's productions. ☆ Eunmi thought Jaemi was stuck up at first until one day she left the theatre on a rainy day and saw Jaemi outside without an umbrella and... dancing in the rain. She then pegged Jaemi either as a 'kindred spirit' or a crazy person, and so she approached Jaemi. They then hit it off as best friends. 

— Friend, Key ☆ 24 ☆ singer (SHINee )and actor☆ personality ☆ During the production of Catch Me If You Can☆ They're pretty close. Jaemi tends to view him as a little brother. Though she's been asking him for advice for WGM.
— Best friend #2, Kimberely "Kimi" Smith☆ 26 ☆ photographer ☆ wild, adventurous, unreliable, mischievous, funny, clueless ☆ They were roomates in California. Kimi  constantly changed majors and never seemed to know what she wanted. She liked the fact that Jaemi focused so much on theatre and found that both admiral and endearing. ☆ After Jaemi moved back to Korea, Kimi became a photographer to 'travel the world'. She ended up in Korea shortly after Jaemi was contracted with CJ and decided to stay for a while to 'shoot some scenery before she took off'. However, she never left Korea. The two go out on hikes to explore and shoot photos quite often. 

OTHERS ☆

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT MARRIAGE? ☆  *smiles* Hehe. This may come as shock to my younger sister, but I'm not opposed to it as she seems to think I am. Hehe. Or should I say, she thinks I'm married to work. I do spend most of my days and nights there. *chuckles for a moment* *composes self, smiling* I think it would actually be nice to be married for real if I ever did find 'the one'. Hehe. Who knows? Maybe my new 'husband' will be 'the one'. *chuckles* Kidding. I hope 'he' doesn't see this. He may be scared off by my remark. *laughs* 

WHY DID YOU AGREE TO THE SHOW? ☆  Well, I kind of felt like I needed a change of pace. I've just been going from one play or musical to another and I just... *shrugs*...I don't know. Need to shake things up I guess.  Try to get a new perspective on things which may help in my acting. *smiles* Plus... *leans in toward camera with one hand cupped as if telling a secret* ...this way my friends and my sister will quit bugging me to find a boyfriend.  They might be a bit jealous now. *winks* *sits back with a giggle* 

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU LOOK FOR IN A PARTNER? ☆  *starts listing on fingers* Kindness. Self-lessness. Honesty. I really value all those traits... *chuckles* Of course, I also need someone who can laugh and joke around with me. I tend to be a workaholic, but I love to just go out and relax too. So, I need someone to have fun with. A talker too. I'd hate to be the only one talking. *chuckles*

IS THERE ANYONE YOU'D LIKE TO BE PARTNERS WITH? ☆  *bites lower lip in thought* Hmm.. You know, I haven't really thought about it. *tilts head, taps chin with finger in thinking pose* Hmm.. *looks over at PD* Who has dimples? *looks at camera* Did I mention that I have a thing for dimples? Any time anyone has a dimple, it is just the cutest thing. I once saw this little girl at my umma's daycare. She had the most darling dimple here. *points to just below the right eye* I've never seen one that high, but it was so cute. *laughs* Sorry.. I got off track... Dimples. Hmm... *snaps fingers* Choi Siwon! *beat passes* *eyes widen in realization* Oh! WHAT MISSIONS WOULD YOU LIKE ON THE SHOW? WHAT WOULD YOU HATE? ☆  *chuckles* I know this might sound really boring, but like making  a meal together while playing music and dancing. *laughs* That's not really a mission, is it? Hmm... Maybe like going to the store or baby-sitting someone else's kid for an afternoon would be fun. *laughs* But this isn't Hello Baby. *chuckles* Hmm.. This one's random. I would want to do some kind of scavenger hunt out in like the woods or a park and just work together as a team. Hehe. Maybe push him into a nearby pond if he's not being cooperative. *chuckles*  Or... the mission could be me showing up at his place of work to help him with something or bring him lunch. Maybe bug him while he's working. *giggles* *shakes head* What I would hate to do is one of those truth or dare things. *grimaces* I never liked those. I mean, I don't mind doing silly or dorky things like doing the "Choki, Choki" dance in the middle of the street... but it's the awkward stuff that I can't stand! *shudders* Is that weird to say sinece I'm an actress? *laughs*

MUSICAL COUPLE: IS IT HARD DATING WHEN YOU'RE SO FAMOUS? ☆ Oh. Well... yeah, actually. I don't really meet many guys, to be honest. Most guys I meet are coworkers. I've liked a few of my fellow cast members in the past actually., but work is work. So, I didn't pursue it. *shrugs* Hmm.. *tilts head* And when it comes to other guys that I meet... *sighs* I never know if they'll really like 'me' or if they're only after 'Baek Jaemi the actress'. I've dated a few guys who I thought liked me, but... *clicks tongue*...they were just after fame. *sighs* I'd rather have a pure, honest relationship with someone who likes me for me.

PERSONALITY ☆  He is a very kind and caring individual, always putting others' interests ahead of his own (for the most part.. he can be a bit of a cheapskate at times). He is funny and a bit of a dork, and gets others to laugh easily either through his (rather lame) jokes or crazy antics. He is good at making friends, but has has a bad habit of talking too much. He tries to be humble, but has his moments of cockiness and can be kind of a flirt at times. He is genuinedly sweet and attentive, and also rather discerning. He is also a hard worker and always tries to be the best man that he can be. 

NICKNAMES ☆  Jaemi calls him Jungsoo-oppa off camera and Teukie-oppa on camera and on a regular basis. Knowing of his other nicknames, she calls him 'Duck from heaven' as a joke. Or 'Dimpled duck'. She'll often call him 'Teukie-yeobo' on camera. 

SHIPPING NAME ☆  Fans ship them as  JaeTeuk. Or the Dorky Couple. Or talkative couple. 

INTERACTIONS ON CAMERA ☆  Leeteuk and Jaemi are actually quite comfortable on camera when it comes to missions. Jaemi enjoys doing the missions and Leeteuk has a little bit of a competitive side... At first, Jaemi has to act being comfortable with the skinship, but later finds herself actually very comfortable with it. They joke around a lot and goof off frequently. They have a lot of fun together and enjoy eact other's company. Leeteuk sometimes likes to flirt with her, so she'll say something sarcastic to him to make him stop; however she still sometimes finds herself blushing and will make a joke afterward so as not to hurt his feelings. 

INTERACTIONS OFF CAMERA ☆  Pretty much the same. They actually call, text, and visit each other off camera. Also, Jaemi calls Leeteuk by his real name off screen instead of his stage name.

FIRST MEETING ☆  Jaemi has to meet him at a theatre to announce that she is his 'wife'. If they are in the same play or musical (see note below), then this could be the chance that Leeteuk finds out who he's starring with.

If they are in the same musical, then this will be at the first reading of the script with the cast. Jaemi is told in advance that she's Leeteuk's 'wife' while Leeteuk is under the impression that he's just there to start work on the musical. He thinks that filming for WGM begins later. So, there are hidden cameras during the script reading. Everyone is seated in a circle and introduces themselves and the characters whom they are playing. Leeteuk speaks and then Jaemi is next. She greets everyone, gives her name and her character's. Then she turns to Leeteuk, saying, "Oh, and I'm also your wife on WGM." This throws Leeteuk off at first, but after the script reading, Jaemi and Leeteuk begin their first mission and meeting.  

OTHER ☆  This is Leeteuk's first time on WGM. With so many of the members in the army, Leeteuk is looking to promote SJ more during their 'hiatus'. He accepts the offer to do WGM and decides to start expanding his musical acting career. He was in The Promise during his time in the army and had a very brief appearance in School Oz, but he wishes to expand his acting repetoire and promote Super Junior in an attempt to keep the group fresh in fans' minds. Since Leeteuk is still a newbie to the theatre (and he himself admits he's not the best actor), Jaemi tries to help him with his acting (either they are in the same musical or she helps him as a mission or off-screen at his dorms or at a theatre). She gets into full-on work mode and Leeteuk sees the difference in her from her playful side. He begins to think that maybe critics have been criticizing her performances because she seems to have lost that playfullness and that same passion and joy in her acting by taking it too seriously. He starts goofing off during rehearsals/training sessions and tries to get her to smile, laugh, anything that will get her loosened up. At one point, before she's about to sing a love song, Leeteuk suddenly pulls her aside and starts tickling her in an attempt to get to loosen up. Feeling a bit out of sorts, but still feeling giddy over his sudden playfulness and being with him, she puts everything into her performance... and it ends up better than ever. As she continues to act with him, he helps her to actually enjoy her work instead of viewing it as work. 

After WGM ends, they do end up together.
