PERSONALITY :　Jaeeun has an INFJ personality. With that said, at times, she is just a walking contradiction. Once in her high school psychology class, she took the Smalley Animal Personality Test and scored equally on both the lion result and the golden retriever. 

She is a hard-worker, always striving to do her best. She has a lot of passion and energy, dedicating a lot of her time outside of rehearsals and practice to perfect her abilities (praciticing dance choreographies, singing the songs, etc). (During her first musical in her Freshman year of high school [before she began training to be in music, she was involved in theatre at school (more below)], she struggled with one of the dance numbers. Frustrated with her performance, she went home that night and practiced the dance over and over in her room until 2 a.m., when she felt it was flawless.) When she was in school, she had to work hard to maintain her 'A' grade average in the midst of doing plays and performances and keeping up a healthy lifestyle. Whatever she's involved in, she sees through it's entirety.

This goes hand-in-hand with her capableness. She rarely feels the need to rely on others, because she knows she can handle whatever life throws at her. Part of this comes from being the eldest sibling, part of it comes from her father's militaristic training (more later),and part from experience. If someone says she can't, she'll prove them wrong.  (When she was in the seventh grade, she could not hula hoop for the life of her. One of her friends about it. So, later that day, Jaeeun practiced hula hooping for three hours until she could hula hoop for 45 minutes solid without messing up.) She's also very strong physically, which has only added to her nickname and being able to handle almost any situation.

However her tendency to be a perfectionist causes her problems. She sometimes thinks that she can handle more than she ought and becomes frustrated with herself and begins to doubt her abilities. Also, with her dedication, comes a certain puzzlement and irritation when she meets those that don't give their all to their art. If she feels that a fellow member or colleague is lacksidaisical , it grates on her nerves.  (For example, during her school years, during one of dancing rehearsals for a performance of "Cinderella", her dance partner wasn't focusing because he was too busy flirting with another dancer. So, Jaeeun snapped at him for him to focus, which caused some frustrations on his part and ended with the two of them irritated at each other the rest of the rehearsal that day.)

Although she is a hard-worker, she is not a stickler. She is rather spunky and adventurous, always curious to explore new places and things. She is rather dorky and loves to goof around and have fun and always loves a good, playful banter. She really loves to just be quirky and enjoy herself. However, she tends to hide that dorky side of her under a professional and seemingly quiet front. When she gets closer to others, she opens up this side of herself to them. Often, this comes as a surprise to others when they realize that she's not all that quiet. 

Speaking of quiet, this is one of her biggest contradictions. She may seem quiet to some, because she prefers to observe other people and discern their personalities. However, she won't hesitate in taking the initiative in introducing herself and giving her all in any given situation. With friends, she is quite talkative and quirky. Because of this aspect in her personality, she is often mistaken to be an extrovert. However, she is in introvert at heart and loves and needs her alone time, otherwise, she will feel like she is losing control of her life. 

Speaking of her contradictory personality, it often comes as a surprise to others after seeing the very put-together woman to find out that she is both a nerd and a rocker. 

She is very forth-coming on a lot of things, instilling in others trust in her since she is so honest. However, her tongue  can be a bit sarcastic at times. However, even though she is very forthright on a lot of things about herself, she never lets anyone see into her deeper feelings. Since she is so skilled in acting from theatre, she has no problem masking her real feelings if the situation requires it. She is not an easy crier either. She will not let anyone see her tears, unless it is for filming a music video or something to that extent.

She is stubborn. When she feels that she in the right, she has a hard time backing down.

She is also distrustful and suspicious. If someone has seriously wronged her, she struggles to "forget" those past wrongs. She can forgive, but really cannot forget easily.  If she has been hurt by them in the past, what prevents them from hurting her now? Because of this mentality, she has a hard time putting her trust in others easily. (INFJ trust issues...)

Studying people has caused her to be intuitive and discerning when it comes to situations and others. She can often pick up on other people's thoughts just based on their body language.  She does care a lot for others and will go out of her way to comfort or help someone if she notices that they are unwell or not themselves. It is not uncommon for her to drag her family or friends to a coffee shop or out to the park or anywhere else she can think of to get them out of their current state of mind and cheer them up. 

She is very aware of herself and the way she thinks and acts. Being an INFJ she will analyze and evaluate herself more than anyone else. She overthinks even the simplest of things.

Being the oldest of her siblings has also made her very protective of others. She has no qualms of putting herself in danger if she sees someone innocent in harm's way. (One time, on her way home from school, she saw a couple of guys bullying a girl. Without a second thought, she immediately bolted between them, yelling at the bullies and causing more of a scene until they left.) If anyone were to try to threaten or hurt someone close to her, the mama bear would come out in her. However, (and this is another one of the conflicting aspects of her personality), she cannot stick up for herself. She just can't. She doesn't have it in her. The golden retriever in her clams up and she is left completely without words or resolve.

She sets very high moral standards for herself and tends to be judgemental when it comes to those who are little more... loose in their morals. She keeps her judgements to herself, but she tends to look down on those who do drugs or who are promiscuous in their lifestyle. She will still do her best to treat such ones in a dignified and respectful manner, but she is a bit more guarded and weary when dealing with such ones.

BACKGROUND :　Baek Junghoon and Jaqueline McCoy, Jaeeun's parents, met in Seoul. Originally from California, U.S.A, Jaqueline McCoy was in Seoul studying at university after receiving a scholarship and wanting a chance to see more of the world.  Jaqueline fell in love with South Korea and eventually fell in love with Junghoon, who was in the same university, but was planning on joining the navy fleet after obtaining his degree. After they graduated, Junghoon joined the navy and took Jaqueline with him to Jinhae to be married. Jaqueline set up her own coffee shop there while Junghoon served in the navy.

Jaeeun was born on May 22, 1994. Her brother, Jaehyun was born a couple years later in 1996, followed by their younger sister, Jinseo in 1998 (more about her brother in the Relationships section [her younger sister won't really have any bearing on the story]). 

She lived a very structured life, since her father worked in the navy. Everything was organized and 'just so'. Everything was scheduled for the most part. She was taught discipline. Honesty, honor, trustworthiness, loyalty, and integrity were all qualities and principles that were highly stessed in her upbringing. 

Jaeeun admired her father a lot and part of her wanted to be a Lieutenant just like him when she grew up. However,  she also loved something else that her father had a talent for: music. She loved to hear her father sing and play the guitar. Jaeeun inherited her father's talent and developed a craving for music. She enjoyed all types of music from hard rock to moving ballads and wanted to get a grasp of them all, loving the variety that contrasted greatly with her very structured life. She learned to play the guitar and write lyrics and compose songs [(and if backup position is chosen) write raps]. 

When Jaeeun was in middle school, she began to take an interest in theatre and participated in the school plays. However, during this time, her father fell ill and died before she finished the sixth grade. Jaeeun was devasted by this. She was a Daddy's Girl after all. However, she didn't cry at the funeral, knowing that she had to be strong both for her mother and her younger siblings. She did her best to help her mother out at the coffee shop when she could, but she mostly helped out around at home, cleaning and cooking for her siblings and mother, and taking care of her younger brother and sister.

By the time she became a freshman in high school, her mother's coffee shop had grown, and her motherd could afford to hire more help, so Jaeeun was not needed at home or the cafe as much. She became more involved with theatre and music at school. She also took up exercising everyday to become stronger so that she could eventually start training for the navy and be accepted into the naval academy. She just knew that she would walk in her father's shoes and join the navy. However, her passion for music continued to increase. She, her brother, and a few of her friends from theatre formed a small band that would play sometimes at her mother's coffee shop during the weekends. She was the main vocal of the group and played guitar for her group (which they called Cherry Blossom after the Cherry Blossom festival that occurs in Jinhae every year). 

One day, it hit her. She realized that her dream was no longer to be in the navy like her father. She wanted a career in the music industry. At first, she felt almost like she would disappoint her father's memory if she chose a different career path, but realized that she would be honoring his musical talents that she inherited from him. 

After Jaeeun finished high school, she moved to Seoul, getting a part-time job as a barista in a coffee shop to support herself while she auditioned for different entertainment companies, eventually becoming a trainee for SM [or if the backup position is chosen, JYP].

PERSONAL :

LIKES: 
 — Musicals! Her favorites are (1) The Scarlet Pimpernel, (2) The Phantom of the Opera, (3) Beauty and the Beast, (4) Into the Woods,  (5) Les Miserables, (6) Cinderella, (7) The Music Man, (8) Hamilton.
— Rain (walking in it, going to a coffee shop and sitting outside, writing and reading [with an umbrella of course], and yes, dancing in it literally)
 —Being a nerd. She loves Star Wars (and not just the canon universe), Marvel, Disney, Fruits Basket manga, and Legend of Zelda.
 — Laughter (the sound of others laughing, and just laughing herself)
 —  Coffee. She used to help out at her mother's coffee shop and knows how to make a good cup of coffee. (She also is not opposed to going out for coffee either. She just loves coffee in general.)
 — Disney- she grew up on Disney movies and loves them still. She quotes them and sings the songs
— The Cherry Blossom festival that is held every year in her hometown.
— Fashion-- she enjoys thumbing through fashion magazines.

— Periods (who likes them anyway? They're just the worst) She has really bad cramps and often feels faint during her periods. She has fainted twice in her life from them (once at home in high school and once in her apartment when she was training at SM). She always makes sure to carry protein bars, protein shakes, and water in her bag when she's on her period to help make sure that she doesn't faint.
— Drinking (she's allergic to alcohol. The first time she had a drink of soju, after a few sips, her face swelled up and she spent an hour throwing up in the bathroom... which is not something she would like to relive.)
— Curse words. She doesn't swear. 

HOBBIES: 
 
—Reading (mostly classics, but she does have a few modern books)
— Playing the guitar (she has a gorgeous purple Fender Stratocaster and a regular acoustic guitar).
— Playing video games (particulary Nintendo games)
— Writing (she loves writing little stories)
— Exercising. EXERCISE IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO HER. SHE EXERCISES EVERYDAY. (paricularly dancing, tennis, badminton, basketball, swimming, kickboxing, and belly dancing. Her two favorites are kickboxing and belly dancing.) She goes to the gym regularly and has a full collection of work out digital movies ranging from "Ballet Beautiful" (Helen Bowers) to Jillian Michaels to kickboxing to bellydancing to pilates. She has several weight sets at home and weighted gloves for kickboxing. If she doesn't have much time for a full workout, she'll at least spend 20 minutes doing some sort of vigorous exercise, but usually she will exercise for at least an hour and 15 minutes per day. 
— Stargazing
— Going on walks. She likes taking walks either in the morning or in the evening to think. If she's near a park, she'll go there and 'explore' for a while.
— Singing and listening to music
— Watching movies (particularly sci-fi, fantasy, super hero, or period pieces, perhaps because they sometimes have a theatrical flare to them) (And Black-and-white movies; they have that certain 'old Hollywood' vibe, and she loves watching those. Her favorites are 'My Favorite Wife', 'All About Eve', 'It Happened One Night', 'Sabrina', 'Casablanca', and 'The Awful Truth'.)
— Watching variety shows like "Knowing Brother" and "Running Man"

HABITS: 

— Doesn't like the quiet, so she'll randomly start making up a song when she's alone
— Laughter usually begins with a giggle and her sneezes are cute and sound like Tinkerbell would if she sneezed and flew backwards across the room. 
— Can't stay still when she's by herself and not acting. She'll constantly bounce her legs when sitting, tap her fingers, or walking around in circles when talking on the phone.
— Bites her lower lip when thinking.
— Gestures when talking
-- She is more eloquent in her writing than she is speaking, so when put on the spot, she may stumble over her words or experience a moment of "blankness" where she won't know what to say, before being able to talk normally. However, her writing is very eloquent. 

FUNFACTS: 

 —She is still a . She actually wouldn't even mind waiting until her wedding night for her first time. With her INFJ personality, she views intimate relationships as something that are almost holy and to be treated as such. If she is going to give her all to someone, she has to be deeply connected with him on more than just a physically intimate way. However, that doesn't necessarily mean she's against the idea. She gives her all in every thing she does and wants to make sure that he is invested into the relationship as much as she is. 
 — She loves exploring. She'll go on walks just for fun and find all sorts of hidden shops and little parks and such that are not well-known. She loves visiting these places to clear her mind. 
 —She can cook and bake. She hardly ever goes out to eat. Why bother paying more for a meal that you can make at home? (She tends to eat very healthy meals.)
 — Her mother keeps in contact with her relatives in United States, so Jaeeun sometimes was able to visit her cousins in California a few times when she was growing up. Jaeeun keeps in contact with one of her cousins in particular and they call each other every week to stay in touch.
—With her mother being American, Jaeeun also watched a lot of American movies and shows growing up as well. (She loves a lot of old black-and-white movies because of this.)
— Jaeeun keeps her first guitar, her father's black Fender Stratocastor , in perfect condition and only plays it on truly special occassions. 
— She is a huge nerd and secretly would LOVE to learn how to duel with lightsabers (specifically the Djem So form). Yeah... She's a total nerd. 
— She has an accent from leaving in the Southern area in Jinhae, but she hides it, so that it doesn't affect her career in any way. 
— She is not that into skinship. It takes her a while to get used to others touching her.
— She is the worst as aegyo. Like don't even ask her to do it. She'll look at you like you're crazy for even suggesting it of her. 
— She has a Mary Poppins bag. In other words, she carries a lot of stuff in her purse/backpack. Does another member need lipstick? She's got that. Band aid? Got that too. Contacts solution? Check. Phone charger? Double check. Anti-bacterial wipes? Triple check.

Jaeeun and her brother get along very well. Her brother plays the drums and studies music in university. (He used to be the drummer in their band). They chill and goof around a lot, though Jaemi often has to remind him that he has papers to write and exams to study for since he tends to put them off. She actually gets really irritated by his lazyness, but loves him too much to really get angered with his lacksidaisical attitude. He thinks she needs to relax more and not be so much of a perfectionist. He enjoys teasing his noona.

STAGE NAME :　Jaeeun (It's just her name.)

PERSONA :　Miss Capable/ Capable Leader 

She can handle whatever comes her way. She is used to being in a leadership type of position (having two younger siblings) and having been the leader of a project trainee group at SM [or JYP if backup position is chosen]. She knows how to care for the group and protect them. She tends to act very professional when it is required of her and take charge, but she also has that spunky, dorky side of her if the situation requires such. She is protective towards her fellow members and with her intuitive side, she can easily discern her members' emotions, and can help set them at ease or help them to cope if they need it. And if any sasaeng fans or stalkers tried to attack or get near her fellow members in an agressive way, the mama bear inside her would immediately take over and she'd step in between them to protect her PINK PUNK sisters. 

TRAINEE YEARS :　3 years at SM [or JYP], 2 years at YG

TRAINEE LIFE :

Jaeeun trained at SM [or JYP] for three years. During her last year at SM, SM assigned her to be the leader of a new project group, one that would be quite different from all their previous groups: a multi-genred girl band, FIRE x ICE. SM wanted to start a multi-talented group that could span several genres to attract more fans and publicity. Hence, FIRE x ICE promotions went under way. They received much publicity over their new idea, which received mixed reviews. A show was started over the project group, showcasing the song-writing and development of the forecasted album ("FIRE x ICE: Eyes of Flame, Heart of Ice") in a short online show series called FIRE x ICE: The Journey.

Jaeeun helped compose several of the songs, including "Eyes of Flame" (a rock-fueled song, showcasing the members vocal and instrumental abilities in the rock genre); "Heart of Ice" (a song encompassing the members' vocal ballads and rap skills),  "Cherry Blossoms" (ballad), "Far From Neverland" (pop), and "Kamakaze" (hip-hop/dance). 

Though none could deny that the group was indeed talented, some complained that the project group was "fickle" and would not be "stable" in the future since they did not focus on one particular genre as other groups do. Some declared the project group gimmiky, claiming that eventually such gimicks would lead to the group's downfall.

Getting cold feet from the bad reviews, SM decided to drop the project group before they could officially debut. 

Her trainee contract was termed due to the disbandment, and she was given the option to either renew her trainee contract or leave. Disheartened over the project group's disbandment, Jaeeun left SM and joined YG, hoping for a better shot in the music industry. YG had seen the efforts and talents that Jaeeun had put into the her former project group (thanks to the online series) and immediately accepted her as a trainee.

They chat until late and her brother stays over (or vice versa). Reporters (or saesang fans or some other nosey person with a camera) catch them walking out the building together the next morning. Rumors and reports circulate that Jaeeun has a lover. They easily reveal that they are siblings and the rumors die almost as quickly as they stared.
