JongKi was born the second son of a ranking officer in the Korean Air Force and a quiet librarian. His older brother, five years his elder, was a little irritated and pouty about having a younger brother when he was just born. The family lived on the military base with his father working as an officer and his mother being the head librarian of the military library. JongKi's childhood was rather normal and typical of a military family, rather strict upbringing but still lax enough that the children didn't feel pressured. His father spent as much time at home as he could and usually he spent most of his time in the library with his mother when he was very young. The relationship between him and his older brother was always a little strained but in their younger years they were pretty close. His home life helped him to have respect for others as well as humility and being able to work hard for something that you want.
He was pretty good in school, better at science and math because of influence from his father while his brother was better at the more social aspects of school. When he was old enough, his father started to take him to some of his trainings with him that he was allowed to attend. He was immediately taken by what his father did and decided at a young age that this was what he wanted to do when he got older. He started to work harder in order to understand that job that came with working in the ROK and how he was going to be able to get in without his father's help to get in. When he was 13, he met Hyosung. He was immediately drawn to her and would every time she came to the base and found himself happy when she started showing up more and more often, ending up with them becoming best friends. When he was 19, he was accepted into training in order to be a part of the ROK and couldn't be happier. Of course, his parents were thrilled but his older brother put him down at every turn. This put him down for awhile and he decided to go to school while in training and major in Physics. He graduated in the upper portion of his class which was incredible considering he was also in the top of his class in his training. He wasn't really close to anyone besides his roommate and partner, Do Baekho. Before Hyosung graduated, there was a time when he was sent off into small battles that caused him to being having nightmares of being stuck in the cockpit or being shot down or losing Baekho. It caused him to become even more withdrawn and more focused on being able to protect the people around him. When he moved in with Hyosung, it felt as if a barrier on his mind had been lifted and she could take away his pain. He was able to move forward with her around and was ever more grateful for her being there. He maintained his job at the airforce but was moved to more of the weapons training on land than being a pilot, which he was estatic about. When Hyosung told him that she had been scouted to be a counselor at an academy, he was a bit confused at first and every day he had free time he would go and bring her lunch or go and talk to her, wanting to make sure this place wasn't taking advantage of her powers. He found himself finding a different place than he was used to but with the same feeling of belonging. When he was visiting one day, someone in the academy noticed that the mark he had always assumed was some sort of birthmark, was actually a zodiac mark. With a few tests, he was offered a place at the school as a physics teacher as well as on the team as the sniper. The academy particularly liked him because he was a human with a mark that didn't treat Ens any differently than how he would treat another human.

Elaboration of Occupation ♦ Coming straight from the military, it didn't surprise him when he was chosen as the sniper of the team. He has the keen eyesight and patience needed for the occupation but he also likes the role because it allows him to protect everyone. He was one of the most accurate shooters in the military and holds many records at the local shooting range. When he isn't on missions, he works as a physics teacher for the academy and also is the advisor for the martial arts club, though sometimes he skips out on that duty to hang out with Hyosung in her office.
Appointment ♦ When Hyosung told him that she was moving from the police force to go and work at an academy, it peaked his interest. He was the only one that knew about her special abilities before this and now that she was saying she had found a place that would help her to understand her powers better, he wanted to make sure that she wasn't heading straight into a trap. After going there a few times to bring her lunch, he found that he was rather drawn to the place. It was more of a push for Hyosung to bring him in to see if he fit the bill of what they were looking for for their team than her actually suggesting it to him. When it was pointed out that what he had always thought of as a birthmark was actually a Zodiac mark, he was tested further by the academy before being brought on the team.

Stamina - Very high, from his days in the military as well as just generally being an active person. He enjoys being active so he was able to keep up his stamina even when he was out of the military and teaching at the academy.
Strength - Very high physically. He has made himself strong in order to protect himself and those he cares about from any harm. When he was younger, he felt threatened by the fact that people could hurt the ones he loves so he built up his strength through daily training. He has mid level emotional strength because he is easily thrown off by particular comments and finds it hard to come back from bad days. Mental strength is mid to high level as he is fairly intelligent but he can have his days of complete airheadedness and lose himself, especially when he is around Hyosung.
Weaponry - He is extremely skilled in all types of sidearms and military guns, particularly sniper rifles and handguns as compared to machine guns. He has always had keen eyesight which makes looking through the scope of a gun easy for him to focus on. As for other sorts of weapons, he is skilled with a knife and rod but he would choose a gun over those two.
Accuracy - Incredibly accurate. He can shoot an empty can from over 100 yards away and hit it directly in the center. He trained this in order to let him take down his targets with minimal suffering on their part, of course if he believes they deserve more pain he can accurately miss as well. Elaboration of Occupation ♦ Coming straight from the military, it didn't surprise him when he was chosen as the sniper of the team. He has the keen eyesight and patience needed for the occupation but he also likes the role because it allows him to protect everyone. He was one of the most accurate shooters in the military and holds many records at the local shooting range. When he isn't on missions, he works as a physics teacher for the academy and also is the advisor for the martial arts club, though sometimes he skips out on that duty to hang out with Hyosung in her office.
Appointment ♦ When Hyosung told him that she was moving from the police force to go and work at an academy, it peaked his interest. He was the only one that knew about her special abilities before this and now that she was saying she had found a place that would help her to understand her powers better, he wanted to make sure that she wasn't heading straight into a trap. After going there a few times to bring her lunch, he found that he was rather drawn to the place. It was more of a push for Hyosung to bring him in to see if he fit the bill of what they were looking for for their team than her actually suggesting it to him. When it was pointed out that what he had always thought of as a birthmark was actually a Zodiac mark, he was tested further by the academy before being brought on the team.

Stamina - Very high, from his days in the military as well as just generally being an active person. He enjoys being active so he was able to keep up his stamina even when he was out of the military and teaching at the academy.
Strength - Very high physically. He has made himself strong in order to protect himself and those he cares about from any harm. When he was younger, he felt threatened by the fact that people could hurt the ones he loves so he built up his strength through daily training. He has mid level emotional strength because he is easily thrown off by particular comments and finds it hard to come back from bad days. Mental strength is mid to high level as he is fairly intelligent but he can have his days of complete airheadedness and lose himself, especially when he is around Hyosung.
Weaponry - He is extremely skilled in all types of sidearms and military guns, particularly sniper rifles and handguns as compared to machine guns. He has always had keen eyesight which makes looking through the scope of a gun easy for him to focus on. As for other sorts of weapons, he is skilled with a knife and rod but he would choose a gun over those two.
Accuracy - Incredibly accurate. He can shoot an empty can from over 100 yards away and hit it directly in the center. He trained this in order to let him take down his targets with minimal suffering on their part, of course if he believes they deserve more pain he can accurately miss as well. The Interview
"Hi, introduce yourself?" Choi JongKi, reporting for duty...ahhh...-rubs back of neck and relaxes posture a bit- Sorry guess I'm still not used to being out of the military. I'm Choi JongKi, currently the physics teacher here at Johak Academy after my zodiac mark was discovered.
"What do you feel of the crew in general?" There are a few rough spots that could use some ironing out but in general, I think we work rather well together. I feel like the younger ones could use more discipline than they are used to but Vague keeps me in check.
"Who is the most likeable teammate?" Vague or Mapper. They are the two that I spend the most time with after all. Vague because she is around my age and we get along really well, considering we grew up together and our current relationship...-slight blush-. On the other hand, Mapper is my partner out in the field, it's more of a had to like that turned into true like after I got to trust her..though I guess liking and trusting are a bit different...
"Who is the least likeable teammate?" I'd have to say it's between Doubt and Pillar but for completely different reasons. -furrows eyebrows- I don't like the way Doubt treats the Ens of the group, I don't know what she has been through or anything much about her past but she needs to cool it with how she treats other people if she wants to actually learn about them. -fidgets uncomfortably and shifts his weight to his right foot while biting his lip- On the other hand...I don't like they way that Pillar affects me, it makes me uncomfortable and I don't like my personal life being under such scrutiny.
