My Golden Era of Kpop

This is my opinion and if you feel differently I would be glad to see it. Disclaimer for any one who reads: no need to get to touch over a blog post. I am still just some random on this earth with access to technology. Nothing more.

In my mind, from around the years between 2007 and around 2011 were my Golden Age of Kpop. It was the whole feeling of those years that kind of made it magical for me. Magical isnt the right word for the time I guess, one its nostalgic but it wasn't (maybe I'm wrong here) as conservative. It is probably not the most suitable wording. As of late there are so many scandals or sensitivity regarding topics and small things that are made into headline news when it seems too small to even notice.

Yes, these years were littered with good and bad events that will forever stay in the minds of Kpop fans. I still need to brush up on my scandal, major Kpop events, however the ones that come to mind are the slave contracts. But out of these years many talented, deserving groups debutted to bless our ears, eyes, hearts and feels with their almost heaven sent awesomeness. I am not too sure about the nature of variety shows prior to this period since I have much more to learn and research, but I really enjoyed how entertainers in the industry were able to interact without getting as much backlash. In particular I am talking about idol groups.

In this current era, there are fans that have their feet, hands and digits in a multitude of fandoms and these fans and the more understanding ones I focus on the majority of the time over the more clouded fans. Fan wars really just a big waste of time. These variety shows from my "Golden Era" were where I can hope for my favourite idol members and groups to interact and have fun. Shows like Idol Athletics, Star King, 2 days, 1 night, Running Man, Weekly Idol, those little moments of interaction that make me want to prove fanwar trigger happy fans wrong. Hearing stuff like "Girls' Generation vs 2ne1 = Battle of the Queens of Kpop" or whatever crap is being debated. It doesnt matter in the slightest. Every group deserves recognition in their own right.
