CHAPTER two - eye catching
"look pretty, feel pretty, be pretty."
faceclaim : jung minhee
backup : park minju
appearance : Soojin stands at a short stature of 163 cm. her hair is naturally wavy, and she frequently dyes it despite the school rules. she has a small scar on the palm of her left hand from tripping and unluckily falling onto a sharp rock. she also has a small birthmark on the right side of her stomach.
style :
( 2012 ) she usually wears a sweater over her dress shirt when its cold because "there's no way a blazer would be enough to shield her from the cold". once in a while she'll the top button since she'd "die otherwise". Other than that, she usually follows school dress code, keeps her clothes clean--though her skirt is a little shorter than it should be.
( 2022 ) she still likes oversized sweaters, and prefers pants over skirts. skinny jeans and leggings, she usually goes out in those, but once in a while she'll grab a skirt or a dress from the back of her closet and wear that.

CHAPTER Three - heart of gold
"one develops strengths from overcoming weaknesses."
traits :
( positive ) intelligent, good-natured, loyal, observant
(
neutral ) rational, analytical, forgiving
(
negative ) detached, dependent, cunning, sensitive
personality :
[ intelligent, rational, analytical ] soojin is the type of student that everybody envies. naturally smart, who could get a high score and a high rank without even studying. but she doesn't not study just because of that. she still puts in the work she needs to get the grade she deserves. she just studies less than most people due to her natural ability to memorize almost anything that comes her way. because of this advantage of hers, her way of thinking is different than everybody else's. she see's events in life as situations and problems she could or could not solve. she rarely jumps into anything because of her emotions, and she always has to think things through thoroughly before she makes a move. it's like she sees life as a chess game, and she's always trying to be a few steps ahead.

[ cunning, good-natured, loyal ] no matter how cruel or cold she looks at moments, she does have morals as well. she hates the things that some students do in school just to get the number attached to their backs to go up. so if she ever catches one of her peers trying to sabotage someone higher rank than them, she always makes sure to come up with some kind of plan to get them to back down. whether it be publicly shaming them, or reporting an exaggerrated story to the principal, she knows exactly what cards she has in hand and which ones she can play. it gets worse when it's someone she's close to. if she ever sees any of her friends get hurt, the gears in her head are already turning to find some way to make sure they never even try to hurt them again.

detached, dependent, sensitive ] because of her past, soojin doesn't know how to deal with complicated emotions such as love and hate. it's hard for her to be emotionally invested into something, because of how emotionally detached she became after that incident. she has this permanent blank expression on her face, and nobody could know what she's thinking by just looking at her. most of the time, everything's running through her mind. once she gets close to people, she gets attached and becomes unable to let go. this only encourages her dependency, another flaw in her personality that developed when her parents passed away. but at the same time, she's too scared to get her feelings hurt if she does get attached. she's never sure if she should cling on, or let go.

observant, forgiving ] though it's a little harder for people to tell what she's thinking, she can easily tell how others are feeling. thanks to this, her friends always manage to end up near her when they realize they're in a bad mood, because she can tell right away without them having to say anything. if they need silent comfort, she's there to wrap her arms around them because she doesn't know how to comfort with words. she can also tell when someone has done something to wrong her. guilt is an expression she can detect quite easily. luckily for her friends, she's not the grudge holding type of girl. but, she's only human. there's only so much she can handle, before she snaps as well. and when that happens, her forgiving nature will fly out the window.

background :
( 1997 - 2011 ) soojin was born as lau yitian to a father who was a higher up in a well-known company and a mother who never let the little girl out of her sight. at three years old, the family of three moved to south korea for her father's business, and immediately got close to one of her father's coworker's families. the family had a son that was three years older than her, named kim jongin. his father and her father were best friends, his mother and her mother were best friends, so out of what was almost obligation, they became close as well.

yitian saw jongin as an older brother figure. for the first few months since her move, she'd frequently get bullied. each time, jongin would run in and protect her from sand, rocks, and harmful words. because of that, she grew dependent on the older boy. the two children played together, and laughed around each other. she respected and admired jongin so much, it was almost an creepy.

At six years old, her parents dropped her off at jongin's to go on a small road trip by themselves. "we need some 'us' time too!" they had told her while laughing. but they didn't come back that night. they didn't come back the next night, either, and she was starting to wonder if they had purposely abandoned her there.

the day after the second night, jongin's mother sat her down in her lap as his father sat across from her. jongin sat on the couch next to his father, his gaze just as curious as her own. the looks on the adults' faces were grim and even at a young age, yitian could tell that her mother's best friend was about to cry. but then when the older man started to speak, his wife broke down into a mess of sniffles and soft sobs.

"your mother was killed by a robber, and your father died trying to save her."

she had stared at the man across from her as if he was crazy but then she realized why her parents never came back for her, and tears slowly slipped from her eyes. she cried for hours on the couch, then for hours more in her room. days later, when she had finally stopped crying, jongin's mother came into her room and told her that they'd take care of her from now on.

they had adopted her into their family. so a small family of three, became a family of four. jongin had stopped talking to her, hadn't even looked at her since the day she found out that her parents died. the smile that was always on her lips had faded, and the shine in her eyes was nearly entirely gone. but the first thing she did was visit jongin, and the first thing he told her was to stay away from him. but soojin strongly believed in the young boy that had once protected her from the world. so she persisted, even as he pushed her away.

2012 ) yitian turned into kim soojin, a name her new father picked out for her. in high school, soojin had always been in the top five percentage of the school. she was the type of student who could get an a without studying, but with studying, she could get an a+. so she studied once in a while, if something was weighted enough to affect her class rank. she still followed her older brother around like a lost puppy, even though she now had a few friends by her side. he was mean to her, always using sharp insults to get her to stay away, and she'd flinch every time, but always ended up coming back.

there were rumors going around the school. that soojin was adopted because her parents abandoned her. when the rumors were traced back, she saw kim jongin standing before her. in all honesty, she couldn't care less about what people thought about her, but she hated the fact that it was the brother she admired so much that did this to her. on that day, he told her to her face that she wasn't his sister, and she stopped following him around.

she joined baekho in her second year in high school, and after that, the rumors stopped. she gained new friends after realizing that those that abandoned her weren't worth it in the end.

( 2022 ) after making up with her brother, soojin realized her true passion. so soojin decided to pursue cosmetology. she works as a make-up artist, and lives in a small apartment in the middle of the city. her parents didn't want her to move away, and at first, she was hesitant if she'd be able to support herself, but when her brother promised that he would help her, she decided that she'd try it out. she'd always depended on others, so she thought she'd try and see what it'd be like to depend on herself only. and honestly, soojin tries not to remember high school, only dedicating her whole life to her work and her passion. jongin works in the same industry as her, as a photographer.

CHAPTER FOUR - important
"even after everything, they still love me."
family :
adoptive mother : kim chanmi : 39/49 : chanmi never forgot her birth mother. so she will ocassionally call her 'yitian' then forget and apologize. because of that, soojin is closest to her mother out of the whole family. she'd go to her when she felt the need to cry over her parents, and somehow, that developed into her being able to cry to her about anything. like a real mother, she'd accept her with open arms.

adoptive father : kim daeho : 41/51 : daeho's too stiff around her to be informal around him. he's the one that monitors her grades and her lifestyle, making sure she's living properly. she sees that he cares through small actions, but other than that, they're pretty distant.

"wake up, walrus!"
adoptive brother : kim jongin : 18/28 : their relationship has been complicated from the beginning. at first, they were close, but then when they became teenagers he hated her. when he graduated from high school, he apologized to her and she was quick to accept it. soojin had always been jealous of jongin for having something he wanted to do, while she knew nothing about what she wanted to do with her life. after high school, he held her hand and helped her through a lot of obstacles, an apology for nearly ten years of cruel treatment. now, he's an important figure in her life once again.

friends :

"who said you could say anything, walrus?"
friend : oh sehun : 18 : her brother's best friend. they were in baekho together, and naturally became friends since they saw each other often. she'd notice his slight mood changes and manage to figure out why they changed. the day that sehun came into the club looking sadder than usual, she indrectly called him an idiot. "you should've told her earlier. ran after her earlier." and he glared at her, before their relationship returned back to small, enjoyable conversations.

"if boys are too stupid for you, i'll marry you instead."
best friend : park sora : 15/25 : her best friend since high school. sora was the only friend that stuck by her side after the rumor about her parents. ever since then, they've been a pair, nearly joined by the hip. they roomed together, and were rarely ever apart. sora knew and knows every secret of soojin's, and soojin knows everything about sora. they can tell when something's wrong with each other in seconds. soojin admits that if sora weren't there for her during her high school years, she probably wouldn't have survived.

"will you treat me to lunch if i get a higher rank? yes? okay."
close friend : kang tae gun : 17/27 : the boy she constantly "competed" with. it was either he was a rank higher than her, or she was a rank higher than him. sometimes she'd purposely miss two questions so his rank would rise above hers, just because she found it funny when she saw the look of success on his face. while he cared a lot about his rank, she congratulated him each time he scored higher than her. somehow, this spawned a friendship between the two.

"i'm not letting you leave until you win, and tell me whats wrong."
friend : shin hoseok : 17/27 : someone she played tennis with. tennis, along with music, was a stress reliever to her, so she'd call him up whenever she needed to smack a ball across a court. afterwards, she'd lay on the court panting and he'd sit down beside her, fanning her. even when she worked up a sweat, he'd always be completely fine. he knew that when she overworked herself like this, she had something on her mind. so he'd urge for her to tell him, and when she poured it out, she'd feel much more relieved. they grew closer through tennis, him being around for her and her being there for him in return.

CHAPTER FIVE - heart to heart
"i'm not going to let you go this time."

love interest : seo kangjoon
backup love interest : park chanyeol
BIRTHDATE : october 12th, 1996 & 16 (26)
occupation : professional soccer player

personality : the type to involve himself in everybody's business. he's nosy, and once he gets his hands on something he feels the need to share it with the world. kangjoon would be described as playful and teasing, but some people who've been his target would see him as manipulative and annoyingly persistent. he lives life how he wants to, and insists that he just wants to live it to the fullest. to him, every single moment of his life needs to be fun and enjoyable. which is why he always manages to "stumble across" blackmail material and teases people for it.

he's really not that bad, once you get past the crude humor he has. he, like soojin, cares a little too much about everybody else around him. he puts other's feelings before his own, but at the same time, once he decides he really wants something he'll selfishly take it. he contradicts himself frequently, going from teasing right back to caring. to him, other's peoples opinions don't matter no matter what he does. he could publicly walk out because of how little he cares about other's opinion of him. surprisingly, he's loyal and kind somewhere deep inside of him.
background : he honestly only joined star to "have fun". he attends most meetings, but will sometimes skip out just to go do something "more interesting" in his eyes.  kangjoon has always had one of the lowest grades in the class, but his attitude towards it was always a shrug and a wide grin. his family is rich, but he doesn't rely on his parent's power and his money to get him where he wants.
relationship :
( 2012 ) kangjoon was already in star when soojin joined baekho. not surprisingly, his grades were terrible and so was his attitude. the first time they met, was when he caught her staring at joohyuk with heart eyes and a small, uncharacteristic smile on her lips. he, if anyone had ever asked him, almost fell in love with that smile right away. but instead, he approached her and took advantage of her surprise, finding out that she was in love with jeguk high's prince.

he took that information, and like always, used it to his own advantage. to him, she was a pretty face that he could drag around if he wanted. to her, he was a bug on the ground that used dirty tricks to take advantage of others. "go out on a date with me" he had asked her and she had glared at him as if she hated that signature wide grin of his. "go out on a date with me, or i'll tell joohyuk that you've been stalking him." and the lovestruck soojin apologized and promised she would. reluctantly in her head, she admitted that he wasn't too bad looking and she hoped that the date wouldn't last for too long.

surprisingly, she enjoyed it. and even more surprisingly, they ended up becoming friends. it was strange to their peers--one of the top students and one of the lowest ranked students being best friends. they wondered if kangjoon had blackmailed her into doing it. but since neither of them cared too much about the other students' opinions, they disregarded them.

a year later, he realized he had fallen in love with her. but she was still deeply in love with the same boy that brought them together in the first place. so kangjoon gave hints at his feelings towards her, and though she could clearly see them, she ignored all of them. yes, she liked him back, but she also still liked joohyuk. so when the "prince" asked her out, she accepted. kangjoon had pretended to be happy for her, but the moment he graduated, he dropped all contact with her. she was happy in her relationship, but there was a lingering question at the back of her head.

"would i have been happier with him?"

( 2022 ) there was a specific spot in a specific park that they shared together when one of them got sad or lonely. they never told anybody else about it. so on a particularly stressful day, soojin sat down at their spot. naturally, memories of high school came back to her. joohyuk and her had broken up after dating for three years. they had went to the same college, but she felt as if there was something missing. he had reluctantly let her go, with the reminder that if she ever wanted to come back, he'd be there for her.

the reunion was the next day. kangjoon had went to a different college than soojin and joohyuk, and never bothered to call the girl who was once his best friend. it was too painful, to see her smile that way at someone who wasn't him. he went to the party only because he wanted to see how much she had changed.

when he saw her, he noticed that she hadn't changed that much at all. she still smiled like it was forced, and when she thought that nobody was looking, her expression would turn blank and she'd space out. he approached her by wrapping his arms around her from behind, and she welcomed him back with an elbow to the gut.

realization hit when she heard a familiar voice. he was taller, features sharper and even more handsome than he was seven years ago. she opened her arms and they shared a hug, one that the two of them held onto for a little too long. she had already realized long ago that she had developed feelings for him, but he never came back for her, so she never had the chance to tell him.

he hopes that she isn't dating anyone, because now that he's back, he doesn't plan on letting her go again.

TRIVIA :
- played soccer since his freshman year, and got a scholarship to a college through it.
- the only thing he was good at when it came to academics, was languages

- tbc.

CHAPTER six - eye to eye
"once upon a time, i was in love."

love interest : nam joohyuk
backup love interest : shin hoseok
Birthdate :  february 22nd, 1996 & 16 (26)
OCCUPATION : model

personality : the typical sweet, kind type. he usually had a smile on his lips, and cares a lot about those around him. he's book smart, but when it comes to anything outside of that, he's nearly clueless. he's affectionate and playful, but not in the way that kangjoon is. his playful is more gentle, and more toned down. he likes to tease--it's as if his favorite hobby is laughing. he has an aura that makes people around him smile and feel brightened up immediately, just by his presence. but under all this, he's a bit insecure. a shocker to most, but he gets lonely easily and feels the need to hug to those close to him. like kangjoon, he's persistent. he's the type of person to cling to the past, and forgets that sometimes he has to look forward, instead.
background : joohyuk never lived in the richest family. of course, they weren't dead poor. he managed to get into jeguk through his excellent grades, and he stays there with those grades. he knew how to save instead of spend, unlike a lot of his peers. he joined baekho just for a place to concentrate on his grades, in fear that if he didn't, he'd get kicked out. a small girl curled up in the corner with a textbook caught his attention, and he ended up liking attending club meetings a little more each time he saw her smile.
relationship :
( 2012 ) the boy of her dreams. the boy that everybody crushed on and wanted. the only boy that teenage soojin ever had romantic feelings for. she took once glance at him and she knew that she had fallen for him--for that cute smile and that quirky attitude. joohyuk had joined baekho the same year that she had, and was a few ranks below her. he, unlike almost everybody else in the school, didn't care about ranks and only cared about doing well. so he'd frequently pull up a chair next to soojin and ask for her help. and each time, her blank expression would turn bashful and she'd shyly explain.

he wouldn't tell her, but he fell for her before she even fell for him. but he managed to keep the blush off his cheeks, the shyness he felt around her, he could hide it all from her. he only made a move when he saw the way her friend, kangjoon, looked at her. it was the same way joohyuk looked at her. joohyuk then decided, that he wanted to keep that smile all to himself. and quickly, before kangjoon could, he asked her out. he was more excited than anything when she had accepted.

yet when kangjoon disappeared, joohyuk could tell that something with soojin wasn't the same.

( 2022 ) they broke up after three years of their high school romance. when he asked her why, he had grabbed her hands and looked at her with a pleading expression. she was hesitant to respond.

"I think i like kangjoon. i think i liked him this whole time. it's not fair if i have feelings for him and for you at the same time, so i have to sort out my feelings before i can decently call myself your girlfriend."

with a sad look in his eyes, he had let her go. their next meeting, was about a year later at his first job as a model and her first job as a make-up artist. when they saw each other, they were equally as surprised, but quickly warmed up to each other again. he knew that she saw the way he tried to get her to fall in love with him again, but delibrately ignored his advances. but joohyuk knew he could be patient, he could wait long enough for her to become his again. he stayed her friend until it was time for the reunion.

he had told her that he would be there, and that they should meet up. when he saw her there, he had started walking over to her right away, when he saw a familiar form wrap it's arms around her from behind.

the bright smile on her lips that appeared when she saw kangjoon hurt his heart. and joohyuk knew that he could no longer stay her friend for very much longer.

TRIVIA :
- is extremely good at basketball, and he told soojin that if he hadn't become a model, he would've been a basketball player.

CHAPTER seven - THE GOODBYE

comments : i think i'm done! ;; i should have everything and i'll be adding more trivia later on--if not please do tell me haha. if something's not specific enough, i can add more as well. it's a little long, though, sorry about that
for the ending, i'm not sure who she should end up with, so i left that up in the air! though i do want her to end up with someone.
scene request(s) : go wild!
- joohyuk's point of view when he first sees soojin

- kangjoon asking her out in 2022 and soojin acting as if she didn't hear it so he keeps persisting
- someone giving her flowers, and she accepts them happily, but then she keeps sneezing uncontrollably around them.
- one of her love interests bringing up the rumor about her parents
- tbc.
suggestion(s) : all will be greatly appreciated :)
- i don't know how you'll have star and baekho interact, but it'd be nice to see a story-line similar to in the drama where they were forced to group together and then became friends (because i got really happy when they did)
