personality : How to describe Mel? I guess the easiest way would be to start by her hard personality. She's a girl that been weathered not only by training to become an idol, but also training for Gymnastics almost all of her life. When Mel was only five years old, her mother who is a former Olympic Silver medalist, began training her as a Gymnast. She's lived most of life with little friends, and seeing everyone as competition. People find it difficult to get close to her which is why they call her Cactus, or Rubber Cactus, since she's also very flexible! She hates being called this and when she was young she cried for hours when a girl called her this to her face, her mother just told her not to be so softhearted, that people in life never liked people who were better than them. Mel is uber focused and doesn't like to play games when she's in the practice room or in any other work situation. Though she has learned to loosen up in resent years.
Mel's personality has gone through many changes, when she was young it was difficult for her as she didn't have any female friends, all the girls used to only be competition to her, so she doesn't really know how to be feminine and has only learned recently what it is to be a woman. She tries a lot harder now to make friends and even though she's still a very jealous girl by nature, she tries to curb it teaching herself that not every girl is going to want to be her competition. background : Mel was raised as the daughter of two very successful individuals. She's an only child, and therefore she was raised alone. She lived her whole life in Hong Kong, China until she decided that she wanted to be a singer. Which she's always wanted to do, but her mother never let her do. Mel's mother was a silver medalist in the Olympic games of 1996. Her mother has always made it very clear that the only reason she received a Silver medal and not a gold medal that year was because she got pregnant and couldn't practice for almost two years while she had her and after. In return she tried to turn Mel into a gold medalist in her place. Mel, was very successful in Gymnastics she always received the highest awards in every competition she entered, and she always got sponsored by the biggest companies and won the most money. Her mother still wasn't happy. Mel's condition was so bad towards the end of her career because her body was starting to develop and this was bringing her problems in her form.
After Mel told her mother and father that she wasn't going to do Gymnastics anymore her mother almost disowned her, but thanks to her father she got to leave with her name and pride intact. She's always gotten along best with her father, who's a professional Piano player and composer.
