2015 Fic Meme
So! As this is my first year of fic writing (yes really it FEELS LIKE I’VE BEEN PLAGUING YOU WITH MY FICS SINCE FOREVER) I decided it’s only right to do a fic meme! So here it is! (i missed out some of the more technical, statistical questions purely because it took me SO LONG to add up a total word count my brain died I’m sorry)

FICS I WROTE THIS YEAR
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted? Um, I guess all three! When I posted my first fic I literally had no idea if I’d write anymore or if that’d be the last you’d all see of me. But I never expected 175,000 words. That’s insane. I don’t think I was even awake when I wrote all that stuff.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January? I guess Baekyeol/Chanbaek got their own story? It was more of a drabble though. I ship Chanbaek so it wasn’t much of a shock in that sense, just I never thought I’d be confident to write a pairing completely on their own that wasn’t Kaisoo.
What’s your own favourite story of the year? Ah. Ah. Ah. I don’t know. Ah. Don’t make me choose. Probably The Millionaire Matchmaker, but On Your Wedding Day (and the rest of the wedding trilogy) is a very high up fave.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them? I guess writing The Millionaire Matchmaker because I did start a chaptered fic before but I gave up on it. I learnt that as long as you like what you’re writing and you don’t over think it, things turn out pretty good!
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year? Well, I’m writing (hopefully) 3 pieces for Kyungsoo and Jongin’s birthdays ad Kaisoo day! But generally just to write more good fic! Although there is one fic I have a brief outline for that I really want to write but.... AAHHHHH i don’t wanna talk about it in case I don’t write it. Come back to me this time next year and we’ll see. ;)

My best story of this year? Eeek. Probably The Millionaire Matchmaker. I don’t know. Take A Bite Of My Heart Tonight possibly. I DON’T KNOW OH GOSH.
My most popular story of this year? Again probably The Millionaire Matchmaker. My first fic to hit 100 upvotes, 100 subs, 200 subs, 300 subs, 400 subs etc etc etc etc It has about 800 and something subs at the moment and loads of absolutely insanely lovely comments so yeah.
Most fun story to write? Gah. All of them. Fluffy Kaisoo is always a joy. I can’t specifically pick one, I’ve enjoyed them all.
Story with the single iest moment? Hmmmmmm.... I’d say probably Take A Bite Of My Heart Tonight. Purely because that had the most in it... OH WAIT THOUGH THE WINDOW IN THE DRABBLE COLLECTION FOR MILLIONAIRE MATCHMAKER. Oooh. AND STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT CLUB. TOUGH. No i’ll stick with my first gut instinct.
Most ‘holy crap that’s wrong, even for you’ story? It might just be me and the sort of crazy fics I read, but I don’t think I’ve written anything too bad! Um... window feat Jongin’s from the Millionaire Matchmaker was pretty /fans self/
Story that shifted my own perceptions of my characters? HMMMM. I guess again The Millionaire Matchmaker (Sorry for being boring)mainly because of writing the difference between Jongin to the world and Jongin when he’s with Kyungsoo. And the whole Jihae situation. I don’t know. Wow I really don’t know a lot do I.
Hardest story to write? What’s in a Name? Mainly because I kinda lost my drive halfway through and rushed the ending just so I could say it was completed. In some ways I want to go back and add an epilogue, but on the other hand I quite like the ambiguous nature of the ending.
Biggest surprise? There was, Sort of. It was my first fic, and it’s probably one of my least popular. For me though, it’ll always hold a spot in my heart (for being my first fic)but I also like how... weird it is, almost. It’s just odd and crazy and its nothing like anything else I’ve written since. So I like it. Unique I guess.
Most unintentionally telling story? To be honest I think most of my tragically embarrassing author’s notes are more telling than stories themselves! But... i guess... actually it’s something I’ve written but I haven’t published yet. I’m giving away so many secrets here, but Jongin’s birthday fic. For something I’ve published, probably There was, Sort of again. It was the fic that first gave me confidence to post a story.

To stay happy and healthy all year ;) but also to write lots of fic and OH MY GOSH DO A FIC EXCHANGE OR KAISOO PROJECT OF SOME FORM OH MY GOSH I KEEP TELLING MYSELF I’LL DO ONE AND THEN I CHICKEN OUT.
Also to write more comments on other peoples fics, I feel like I don’t do that enough and I know I should because I know how bad you feel when you post a fic and no one feeds back (like even bad feedback is better than nothing you can at least improve) and vice versa i.e. how happy comments make a writer.
ALSO TO APPRECIATE PEOPLE WHO READ MY STORIES MORE. I always feel like I don’t appreciate you guys enough and you deserve so much more I swear.

Everyone. Literally everyone whether you’ve upvoted, subscribed, both or even just read my story and stayed quiet I don’t care I am so so so grateful for that. I’ve had people tell me that I’m underappreciated and I swear that blows my mind because I still can’t wrap my head around how many people have read and subscribed and upvoted my stuff. It’s just bleahrabjdkbwqiaohuwkajbfskjbd crazy. I’ve met only lovely lovely lovely people on this site and I swear sometimes all you and your comments and love and well wishes have been the only things that have raised a smile from me all day. I honestly mean that.
I’m hesitant to thank people personally because I don’t want to make some people feel less appreciated (because you’re really not), but the people I would thank anyway should all know who they are. <3 also I have people who regularly come back to read my fics and things and that just makes my brain fail as well because HOW? I guarantee if you’ve commented on more than one of my fics I KNOW WHO YOU ARE. That sounds creepy, but you get me. EVEN IF YOU HAVEN’T COMMENTED BUT YOU’VE SUBBED AND UPVOTED LOADS OF MY FICS I ALSO RECOGNISE YOUR NAME WHEN IT POPS UP AND MY HEART DOES A LITTLE SKIP BECAUSE AY THATS ONE MORE PERSON IN THE SKWAD FOR LIFE.
