miran was born on september 10th, 1998 as the second daughter of ryu joohyuk and min yoora, with an older sister, ryu ahyoung, who is older by six years. joohyuk and yoora is so busy with their job, joohyuk as the high court judge who rarely went home because of his busy schedule and yoora as the head manager of a bank. luckily, miran has ahyoung who loves her younger sister so much and always take care of her. miran receive so much love from ahyoung, and she loves her sister for it. they are inseparable, and they build the bond that is unbreakable. they think they can live like this forever, sure, they have busy parents who rarely at home, but at least they have each other.
but, everything went downhill when miran was twelve, when both of her parents are home, the atmosphere who usually filled with silence or awkward conversation, filled with fight instead. her parents yell at each other, not even bother to hide it from their children. ahyoung is the only one who always be there beside miran, as she always tried to distract miran's mind from the sound of yelling from downstair. but she can't hide the fact that she is also concerned because of her parents.
one month after miran's thirteenth birthday, her parents filled the divorce paper and they separated, no longer being pair of husband and wife. and with the separation of their parents, it lead to separation between ahyoung and miran too. their mother decide to take ahyoung, while their father decide to take miran. her mother decide to move to gyeonggi along with ahyoung, while her father decide to stay in busan with miran.

miran always wake up at half past seven everyday when her father isn't home, and she would prepare all her needs to go to school by her own. when her father at home, she would wake up at seven to prepare for his breakfast. yeah they don't talk to each other that much, but miran still love her father and her father needs to eat, so she always prepare breakfast for him. she goes to school at eight by bus, and she is one of the early kids in her class. miran's life in kahae is better than her life in busan when she is in her middle school stage, because at least now she has a bestfriend and her classmates can be considered as friends too. thanks to her brain, she is able to get good scores, from the range of Bs to As. miran join the photography club in her school, the only reason is because she loves to take picture and she is quiet good at it. and also because she able to come up with other reason than wanting to take a picture of lee junyeol when someone ask why she bring her camera everywhere at school.

ryu ahyoung, miran older sister who currently a student in sungkyunkwan university, and she take medicine as her major. ahyoung always take care of miran and showers her with love, and she loves her sister so much. she is so affectionate towards miran and she always hugs her whenever she can. the first year of them being separated, ahyoung often calls miran to check on her condition, but now, after she becomes busy with her university life, she rarely calls and usually only send a text in a day, or worse, a text in a week. being a medicine student surely hard, miran knows it. whenever miran calls her sister first or send a text message to her, she rarely picks up and it takes two days or three for her to reply to her message. and all she said is 'i'm sorry miran, i'm really busy with my assignments' and miran understand it. so, miran always text her sister everyday, because she is just worried of her sister.

miran meet junyeol in her first day of school. miran is lost that time, she needs to arrive at the school gym for opening ceremony in ten minutes, but she doesn't know the location of the school gym. she wanders around until she bump into a guy that look like an upperclassmen because he doesn't look lost like most of the new students do. he must notice the frustation on miran's face, because when he open up his mouth, the words that come out are 'new student? you seems lost. need a guide to the school's gym?' and miran raised her eyebrows upon hearing that words. she knows it's not the time to doubt the sincerity behind the guy's offer, because she really needs to go to the school's gym as soon as possible but, blame her distrustful-ness to human sincerity. and instead of a nod and a 'thankyou', she said these words instead. 'why do you want to help me? you don't even know me.' and the guy in front of her can only sigh because really, this girl is unbelievable. 'right, i don't even know you. but i know you're lost and i think that's enough as a reson for me to offer a help to you. i want to help you because you seems so lost and i don't want you to be late to your opening ceremony. but whatever. i'll leave if you don't want me to help.' and because miran decide to put her doubt aside, she quickly said that she needs his help. and then, that guy lead her to the school's gym.
miran thought that the guy would just leave her after they arrive at the school's gym, but no, instead, he pats her head and said, 'you need to learn that not everyone in this world offer a help from someone because they want that someone to pay them back, there's lot of people who offer help because they want to help, no other reason, no secret motives.' miran is completely taken aback by the guy's words, because, did he read her mind or something? 'remember that, okay? and i'll surely remember you too. if you need any help, you can go to my class, class 2-4. just search for lee junyeol and i'll be there' and that's, the moment where miran fall in love with her senior with the name of lee junyeol. why? because no one ever said those things to miran before. yeah, it's cheesy af but miran fall in love just like that.
after that first meeting, miran doesn't come to junyeol's class right away, instead, she tried to found informations about him first. and fortunately, she is in the same class with someone who knows about the upperclassmen really well; jung yerin. yerin have an older sister, and when both of them are in the first grade of high school, her sister is already in the third grade. yerin's sister basically knows everything about the students in kahae, mostly the famous ones. and miran is really surprised when she heard about the popularity of lee junyeol.
'he is so popular, ran. many of the second graders and even third graders fall for him because of his handsome face and also his charisma. seriously, even some of the new students already fall for him because of that. you need to stand out for him to notice you, because if you only follow the same path as his other fans, which is watching him from a far or giving him chocolates or confessing to him randomly without him knowing them first. you need to be unique.'
and yerin can only facepalm herself when the next day, miran told her that she would get junyeol's attention no matter what, with the way of being his 'stalker'. no, miran doesn't say a stalker out loud, but by the way she explain about 'first, i'll go to his class and make sure that he remembers me. he let me know about his class and he even said that i can go to him when i need help. i'll follow him so he'll notice my presence, really, yerin, i'll follow him anywhere. and, i'll always bring my camera from now on. i heard junyeol sunbae loves to take pictures of himself so much? he would be really happy if someone with talent will take pictures of him everyday, right?' which only yerin replied with 'whatever, miran'
and miran really does what she said to yerin. she really went to junyeol's classroom, and when she finally meet him for the second time (because before, miran would hide behind yerin's back whenever she saw junyeol in the hallway) junyeol seems happy to see her, and in their second meeting, with her confident attitude, miran ask junyeol for a permission, for her to follow him anywhere and to take pictures of him as many as she wants. junyeol is oblivious and take it as a jokes, and that's why he replies with 'yes, of course. do whatever you want' and when he sees the determination and the happy looks in miran's face, he knows right away that he gives a wrong response.
from that day, miran always follow junyeol everywhere with camera in hand, and she still do it even when she already in second grade and junyeol is already in third grade. even though junyeol already tell her harsh things like; 'back off' 'you annoy me so much' 'please just go away', miran doesn't give up yet. she wouldn't give up until junyeol loves him back, or at least that's what she said.

miran meet junyeol in her first day of school. miran is lost that time, she needs to arrive at the school gym for opening ceremony in ten minutes, but she doesn't know the location of the school gym. she wanders around until she bump into a guy that look like an upperclassmen because he doesn't look lost like most of the new students do. he must notice the frustation on miran's face, because when he open up his mouth, the words that come out are 'new student? you seems lost. need a guide to the school's gym?' and miran raised her eyebrows upon hearing that words. she knows it's not the time to doubt the sincerity behind the guy's offer, because she really needs to go to the school's gym as soon as possible but, blame her distrustful-ness to human sincerity. and instead of a nod and a 'thankyou', she said these words instead. 'why do you want to help me? you don't even know me.' and the guy in front of her can only sigh because really, this girl is unbelievable. 'right, i don't even know you. but i know you're lost and i think that's enough as a reson for me to offer a help to you. i want to help you because you seems so lost and i don't want you to be late to your opening ceremony. but whatever. i'll leave if you don't want me to help.' and because miran decide to put her doubt aside, she quickly said that she needs his help. and then, that guy lead her to the school's gym.
miran thought that the guy would just leave her after they arrive at the school's gym, but no, instead, he pats her head and said, 'you need to learn that not everyone in this world offer a help from someone because they want that someone to pay them back, there's lot of people who offer help because they want to help, no other reason, no secret motives.' miran is completely taken aback by the guy's words, because, did he read her mind or something? 'remember that, okay? and i'll surely remember you too. if you need any help, you can go to my class, class 2-4. just search for lee junyeol and i'll be there' and that's, the moment where miran fall in love with her senior with the name of lee junyeol. why? because no one ever said those things to miran before. yeah, it's cheesy af but miran fall in love just like that.
after that first meeting, miran doesn't come to junyeol's class right away, instead, she tried to found informations about him first. and fortunately, she is in the same class with someone who knows about the upperclassmen really well; jung yerin. yerin have an older sister, and when both of them are in the first grade of high school, her sister is already in the third grade. yerin's sister basically knows everything about the students in kahae, mostly the famous ones. and miran is really surprised when she heard about the popularity of lee junyeol.
'he is so popular, ran. many of the second graders and even third graders fall for him because of his handsome face and also his charisma. seriously, even some of the new students already fall for him because of that. you need to stand out for him to notice you, because if you only follow the same path as his other fans, which is watching him from a far or giving him chocolates or confessing to him randomly without him knowing them first. you need to be unique.'
and yerin can only facepalm herself when the next day, miran told her that she would get junyeol's attention no matter what, with the way of being his 'stalker'. no, miran doesn't say a stalker out loud, but by the way she explain about 'first, i'll go to his class and make sure that he remembers me. he let me know about his class and he even said that i can go to him when i need help. i'll follow him so he'll notice my presence, really, yerin, i'll follow him anywhere. and, i'll always bring my camera from now on. i heard junyeol sunbae loves to take pictures of himself so much? he would be really happy if someone with talent will take pictures of him everyday, right?' which only yerin replied with 'whatever, miran'
and miran really does what she said to yerin. she really went to junyeol's classroom, and when she finally meet him for the second time (because before, miran would hide behind yerin's back whenever she saw junyeol in the hallway) junyeol seems happy to see her, and in their second meeting, with her confident attitude, miran ask junyeol for a permission, for her to follow him anywhere and to take pictures of him as many as she wants. junyeol is oblivious and take it as a jokes, and that's why he replies with 'yes, of course. do whatever you want' and when he sees the determination and the happy looks in miran's face, he knows right away that he gives a wrong response.
from that day, miran always follow junyeol everywhere with camera in hand, and she still do it even when she already in second grade and junyeol is already in third grade. even though junyeol already tell her harsh things like; 'back off' 'you annoy me so much' 'please just go away', miran doesn't give up yet. she wouldn't give up until junyeol loves him back, or at least that's what she said.
