hi ^^

okay so I have this weird habit of not listening to a group unless I'm prepared to spend the next few hours searching up basic information about them and watching all their mvs and learning how to identify each of the members because it bothers me that I'm watching a mv without knowing who any of them are... I feel like I'm not genuinely appreciating them?  I don't know O.o anyways so it's not very often that I decide to start listening to a new group because it takes time for me to be able to place faces to everyone's names in every mv LOL

but recently I've decided to start listening to new groups because it's probably time that I start a new group... the last time I started a new group was in the middle of the summer when I started listening to bts (*coughs if you don't listen to bts you really should omfg*) and I started apink a few months ago and I was able to identify the members for one or two mvs but I just gave up because honestly (and this is just my personal opinion and my preference) I've never particularly liked cute concepts, regardless of whether they're done by guy groups or girl groups... I don't mind them, but it just gets boring after a while... and that's part of the reason why I just stopped trying with apink... yes they're talented and I do know a few of their non title track songs because I've them on pandora and yes they're good, but they just don't fit my preferences

yesterday I decided that it was time for me to start listening to new groups, specifically rookie groups... I usually don't do it this way, but the way I'm doing it this time, I'm choosing a few rookie girl groups and guy groups and listening to all their title tracks and watching their mvs two times each and whichever one intrigues me the most, I'm gonna start learning their names and keeping up with them

for girl groups, I chose mamamoo (the other options were twice, oh my girl, clc, lovelyz, gfriend, and exid) and mamamoo actually intrigues me because out of the girl groups that I've listened to, they have a different sound that I usually don't hear in kpop and I like that XD I already have a basic knowledge of them and I've watched their mvs and I know how to tell them apart now LOL

for guy groups, I'm still not sure which group I should start listening to... my options are seventeen, got7, monsta x, winner, and ikon and I've listened to all their title tracks so far but I still don't know what to pick... does anyone have recommendations?  or another guy group I didn't list that I should look into?

oh and for reference if anyone's gonna recommend groups, the groups/artists that I already listen to (meaning groups for which I can tell everyone apart LOL) are super junior, snsd, bts, exo, shinee, b.a.p, 2ne1, akdong musician, big bang, miss a, ailee, infinite, f(x), red velvet, beast, 4minute, sistar, girl's day, and now mamamoo as well XD
