Free Writing Softwares?

Can anyone recommend a simple, free writing software? I had OpenOffice, but for some reason it won't download onto my notebook anymore. So I need something simple, free, and good. Preferably something like Microsoft Word, but free. Or like OpenOffice. Either one works, just not one of those two. And not Sigil, I hate that thing.

Thank you in advance, it really means a lot.

I use WPS Office but I'm pretty sure it's only for mobile devices and Windows.

You could use Google Docs, or use Apache Office, it's kinda like Microsoft Office

LibreOffice? Or use online Office. Microsoft have some free apps you can use with your browser and you can save your files to OneDrive, so you can access them anywhere.
