There's nothing wrong with inspiration but....(Huge rant coming through!)

Inspiration and copy someone else's work pretending is your original idea is a completely different thing.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with being inspired by other people's work and put a different spin to the original story as long as it's your idea. What really annoys me is 'writers' warns them not to plagiarise their story otherwise they'll report them when in fact they've completely taken and copied word-by-word of someone else's hard work and said it was their original idea. The only difference between the fanfic and the original work is using different names.

(The FF was taken from an original novel but changed the names into EXO members. Storyline, chapters and ending is completely the same as the original book.)

I've seen plenty of plagiarised work on AFF and there are times I do call people out on this privately since it's just so obvious. I will never do it publicly because I don't want to embarrased them (so no I won't say any names but I do wish they'll consider how plagiarism is a huge deal.) I may be blunt with my words but I've never been horrible to them about it. I may be nice about it and try to warn them but there are others who are out there to tear you down and even tell the original authors via social media. If they catch that, you never know what they could do and even report you for stealing their work.

This has never happened to me but I've seen it happen a few times and let me tell you, it's not pretty and it gets really bad. (Internet is a dangerous place for all)

Fortunatly for the 'writer' majority of her subscribers hasn't caught on nor do I think they really care if it's copied or not. They just love reading about their oppas. The only reason I began reading it because of my bias until I've notice how similar it was to the original. (I'm just waiting for the author to update and see if she's going to talk about the messages I've sent her privately. She's also ignoring me. -___-)

I'm not the best writer in the world but I can at least confidently say that all my fanfics are all my own ideas. Whether it's watching a video, reading another book or inspired by every day life, I just write it in my style. it's not too hard if you're naturally creative.

Just be aware that taking someone's work and tell others is your own is never a good. Karma has its ways and it will bite back.

Another thing (Told you it's a huge rant)

There's nothing wrong with wanting people to comment or upvote your story but stop begging for attention or threaten people for not commenting on your story. It's not pretty and it makes me want to go back to the mainpage. You can suggest them to do so but don't tell them you have to otherwise you're going to be sad and won't update ever again. You can't tell the readers what they can or cannot do. If you have the patience and write really good content, the comments and upvotes will come...you're not going to get it straight away.

I'm not thinking highly of myself or anything like that since I'm a silent reader myself but if I generally enjoy the story, I will upvote, comment and tell them how much I've been enjoying the story. But don't tell me to keep complimenting you because that's not going to happen. Not everyone will do your bidding.

Stop saying 'I feel so sad because I have no comments or upvotes but only silent readers. if I don't get any comments soon I'm going to delete my story.' Just. stop.

It makes you look desperate and that's never a good thing.

That's all I want to say for now and I need a nap.

Until next time...

Edit - DAMNIT I WANTED THE COPYCAT AUTHOR TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT HER BLANTANT PLAGIARISE STORY! In the end she ignored me and said to her readers 'This will be my last fanfic and will stick with poster making.' I think she knows I'm on to her....It was a crap story anyway.

I think commenting on the stories give the author strength or let's say a motivation to write more. This is the least we as readers can do to show them that we are enjoying their writings, but yeah just like u I don't like it when the author pushes the reader to comment or something! In the end it's the readers choice!

And those people that comment on the story 'please update' when they aren't even subscribed to it when the story is only on subscribers only >_>

I'm thinking, if anyone says "Please comment on my story, I don't like silent readers", I'm going to go to their stories and just type "Please update." Nothing else. Especially on their completed stories. I think I might post it a few times on those ones.
