What is a roleplay?


 

 

I have a thought in my mind since a long time ago. People used to play roleplays and such and there is so many roleplay layouts (I love looking
and search for layout ff) and I thought, what is a roleplay actually?

→ do we roleplaying as some character or person that we want to be?
→ how does it work actually?
→ so, you have to pretend be that idol or character? not yourself? or do we just inherit the name?
→ what do facebook-based/ twitter-based mean?
→ is this is like a group of internet buddies?

I  think that is all I want to ask. If any of you joined a roleplay or maybe an admin, can you answer my question and explain the concept to me?

1. Yes, you can roleplay as anyone you want!!!!! No rules except for the ones the roleplay you join gives you. With AU roleplays you roleplay as the idol you have choosen only you get to remake their back-ground, personality and everything else^^ Non-Au means you roleplay as the idol you choose meaning you follow what these idols do and basically recreate everything they do in real-life.
2. Roleplay basically works as you going through the actions of the said character, creating their life and actions as you go along with other characters. It could be in 1st POV or 3nd POV.
3. You can if you want to or you just follow your own rules and face-claim, you make use their face but make up everything else.
4. FB RP is Rp based off FB meaning you create an account on FB to use in the roleplay. It depends on the RP on how you use it.
5. Roleplaying isn't about making internet buddies but instead just focusing on the roleplayer and their character really nothing else. Sometimes you can get to know them outside of character but roleplaying is just about the characters!!!
A word of advice; You don't have to always roleplay off an Community sometimes you can just buddy up with a random roleplayer if they are interested ;]

1. Yes, you can roleplay as anyone you want, if some roleplays are 'AU' it means you are not the idol you've chosen, so you make up the background, personality etc. There are some roleplays that are NON-AU, it means you are who you roleplay, so if you choose, for example, Hyunah, you have to introduce as Hyunah from 4MINUTE, the idol and you roleplay with the other idols, just as it would be the actual life? If that makes sense.
2. It works like this, you get in a roleplay and it can be either 3rd POV or 1st POV. Meaning, the actions will be like this:
3rd POV: "Hello!" she said, waving and looking at the boy in front of her with a smile.
1st POV: Hello! /smiles and waves, looking at you/
Basically.
3. As I said, if the RP is AU then you don't have to be the actual idol, you only face-claim them. So you use their face, name. But you make up your own personality, background, etc. And if it's NON AU then you are the actual idol, roleplay as her/him.
4. FB based means the roleplaying takes place in FB So you make an FB account with the name of the idol and all. Add their pictures, and PM or group rp or wall rp with the other members of that RP. Same goes for Twitter.
5. It's not really internet buddies, it's more like.. you roleplay for fun, develop relationships, etc. Since you don't talk to that person OOC (out of character). You rather get to know their character not the roleplayer (the person behind the character). You cna talk OOC to them too but Rp is mostly for focusing on the RP act not on the actual persons behind all the roleplays.

Having a same thought here.. ^^" But what do I know about rp, the rp is when we be that character. If you want to choose V, then you must be roleplaying V. I dont know how does it work. About the facebook-based,twitter-based and any other online based is the where we do the roleplay that we want to be. I dont know if its helping you or not chinggu.. :D
