appearance » Kim Sooyun currently has her hair a wavy orange, but it's liable to change at any time. She has a scar on the right side of her face from  childhood incident (Will be explain further later). It's roughly half an inch long near her ear, which she usually covers with her hair. She's quite self-concious about it, but she tries to ignore that.
 

style » Usually, Sooyun is wearing makeup, no matter where she is. Since she hates her scar, she feels the need to cover it up, but her makeup is never too heavy- She still likes to keep it natural. Sooyun is pretty open to wearing most clothing, especially if it's wine red because she looks ing fabulous in it (As she says all the time), but keep animal prints out of her sight. Animal print is the one thing that she will never wear, even if she, like, gets fired for it. Sooyun's top fashion idol is Naeun of Apink. Do you see that cute sleepy style?! TRAINEE SPAN » Two years
TRAINEE BACKGROUND »  Kim Sooyun was scouted two years ago at her school's talent show. Her older brother may or may not have tipped off the talent agents that there would be some great performances, and Sooyun was thrilled when she was scouted by both SM Entertainment and NH Media. Naturally, after little debate she chose her brother's company (SM) and began her trainee life. Sooyun decided that she could make friends in school, and instead worked hard to improve her dancing and singing- After all, her skills were really only sub-par compared to the other trainees. She wasn't hopeless at rapping, but Sooyun gave it up to focus more on her best talent- Singing.

 

Because of her all-work-no-play attitude, she wasn't very well-likes by most of the social trainees, except for one- Kim Hyun. This girl was much older than her, but decided they had to be the best of friends. Despite the fact she changed companies, she was always able to get into SM Entertainment and visit Sooyun. Her favorite memory was when Hyun put a frog in the meanest trainee's bag- The girl proceeded to scream and pass out, which, naturally, almost killed Sooyun of laughter.

 

Unfortunately, her trainee life wasn't all sunshine and roses. Sooyun was constantly being criticized by her trainers and the staff, always comparing her to her much older, much more famous brother, "Key" of SHINee. There were many times where Sooyun would run to the SHINee practice rooms or dorm, in absolute tears just because people were so cruel. But so long as she had her brother, and the rest SHINee, who had become like brothers to her, because they could simply make her laugh and smile when no one else could.

Sooyun tends to sleep late and wake up early.

She's often known as a 4D kind of person~

She seriously would die without her brother, and tells him she loves him every day (Whether it be through text, calls, in person, etc.), and always gets the same in return.

Kibum is always the first person she sends a good morning text to.

She's a total anime junkie, there's no escaping it. The dorm is filled with anime merch.

Sooyun cosplays genderbent Henry from Fire Emblem.

She's a huge Fire Emblem fan, and was one of the fans that didn't mind the changes that were made to the series in Awakening.

She had a huge crush on Jinki when she first met him. It awas really cute back then, and her brother for it a lot. Jinki was a gentleman to her, and would take her out on "dates" to indulge her crush.

Loves honey and puts it in/on everything- Hot tea, cold tea, toast, in marinades, yogurt, on top of ice cream, to dip fruit in, in sandwiches, in coffee, oatmeal, in baking, etc.

She really won't eat ice cream unless she has her little side of strawberry sauce.

Marigolds are her favorite flowers~

She likes getting up early, because the fresh morning air as the sun rises is the best time of the day.

Sooyun is a fan of radio shows, she wants to have her own one day!

She's pretty good at painting and drawing, its her secret talent {She especially does realistic paintings/drawings}!

Kisses on the eyelids are her favorite romantic gestures, she thinks that it feels calming.

Ballads are great, if they have emotional lyrics and instrumentals, she cries, like, a lot.

She, suprisingly, has a lot of talent in acting.

Sooyun discovered her auality at thirteen years old. Of course she still has normal arousal, but it's not what she looks for in a relationship in the slightest. She isn't interested in itself- ual activites with other is unappealing, simply on her lonesome is good with her. She has yet to come out to her family, only to these people: Areum and her family, HyunJae, Momoka, and Anna.

Sooyun is a huge fan of Looney Toons.

She wishes she was better at rapping.

Sooyun and her best friend (Areum has yet to move out) own twin kittens- Ivy (Girl) and Harley (Boy)~

She's ambidexterous- She was originally right handed, but trained herself to write with her left hand because she wanted to be special to make Jonghyun know he's not so special because she was mad at him for scaring her on Halloween three years ago,

Her brother originally wanted to keep her out of the show business life, but he knew that it was something she'd love to do, and thus he let her. Still, he's kept her existence a secret thus-far, not even saying happy birthday on social media.

Kim Sooyun is a very excitable person. Every little thing excites her to no end- Going out to eat, meeing new people, anything and everything makes her happy and squeal-ly. On reality shows she's absolutely charming to everyone when they see how excited she gets. Sooyun is humorous, and her sense of humor expands to everyone- Dry, sarcastic humor, dumb puns, math and science jokes- Basically everything and anything. Sooyun seriously can make anyone laugh with little trouble- She's just that kind of person. She is also quite passionate- Sooyun doesn't give up her dreams for anything, and will do everything she can to make them come true. When she talks about singing and dancing, you know that it's something she really cares about because of the light in her eyes and the strength in her voice.

 

It's quie a different experience when she's talking about being and idol. And it's not just that- She's passionate about school, her friends, love, etc. Sooyun's passions also make her very ambitious. If her brother is an idol, can't she be an even better one? She wants to improve her skills and top the rest of the group, she wants to finish college with a 4.0 GPA or higher, she wants to become a household name- And Sooyun will do anything to achieve these dreams. She's imaginative of where she can be in ten years time, and constantly thinks of the future. This girl can dream herself up in anything, and then gets there. Her imagination is her greatest tool, as her grandmother always told her- That, and her ability to adapt to any situation. Sooyun can change her attitude, expression, tone of voice, whatever in a split second to make herself fit whatever situation it is that she's in. She can comform her personality to whatever it needs to be.

 

This girl is quite flirty. It's a natural thing, skinship and suggestive lines. She's known to be the most social with her fans in Aeon, because she has no problem holding their hands, kissing them on the cheek, having half-an-hour long conversations full of sweet, cute lines that can make any guy or girl (And anything in between) swoon. It's a natual ability that many people are jealous of. Sooyun is quite eccentric, which tends to weird people out. She has quite off behavior, like practicing dancing at three in the morning, or only eating ice cream if it has strawberry sauce on the side (Not on it- In a little container or bowl that she can sip out of before she /takes a bite out of the ice cream). She's interested in weird things like elephant reproduction ((Please excuse these weird things)) and how ants make their colonies. Sooyun is quite unconventional, which makes her all the more fun.

 

Sooyun is highly unpredictable. You never know if she'll like pasta one day but not the next, or has absolutely random moodswings- Like on the morning she was told she's debuting with Aeon, she was totally happy and excited but then a few hours later she was going to kill whoever spoke to her. But Sooyun can also have the craziest, most fun ideas ever. It's quite interesting, this unpredictability. She's often referred to as a "Wildcard" because you never know what you'll get- So be prepared for a lot of emotions. This girl cries at everything, seriously. Sooyun can't help it, it's just so natural for her. Sooyun can easily change her mood depending on one little thing, so she can get a bit troublesome in that aspect. Still, her emotional self is found to be quite endearing to many.

 

Sooyun tends to be a very critical person. She critcizes whatever she sees, no matter who or what it is. She's not afraid to tell people, either. She points out every single flaw, there's no exceptions- Even when it comes to her higher-ups. Sooyun is completely disrespectful and had no thought for authority- She only acts nice in public. This girl is absolutely awful when it comes to repecting people, and adamantly continues her unacceptable behavior- It's a wonder she hasn't been kicked out of school or SM yet. She's very innapropriate, in more ways that one. She makes jokes at the exact wrong times, and it totally erted all the time- She's always making really ual jokes, and it's not rare for her to one of her Unnies' for fun because they hate it.

 

She is very untrustworthy- She's not the type to keep secrets unless it's from the internet/netizens/that kind of thing. Sooyung's never been a faithful girlfriend, and you simply can't expect any loyalty from this girl- And it's a direct result of her grandmother's death. After all, why would you be trustworthy when the person you trusted and loved most died on you? She knows it's bad, but she can't help it. Unfortunately, these flaws make Sooyun really unconfident with herself- This girl thinks that she's really not that great, she's unconfident with her abilites, and Sooyun is simpyl afraid she'll be the worst in every situation- After all, isn't her singing simply passable? She doesn't stand out and thus believes she doesn't deserve to believe in herself.
 

background » Sooyun grew up raised by her grandmother. Her mother was sick after giving birth to both her and her brother, and her father worked full-time. So in the stead of her parents, her grandmother took the job. Both she and Kibum grew up kindly and happily, neither spoiled nor neglected. They knew to be respectful (Though Sooyun often no longer takes that lesson to heart), and both had great grades. Sooyun knew she was loved, and she was never made feel like anything otherwise. She grew up unbelievably close to her brother, Kibum, who always took care of her, supported her, and loved her.

 

In elementary school, she was super popular, and was friends with just about everyone. There were few people in school that she didn't know the name of. Middle school was just as great, and her life seemed perfect-And then, suddenly, when Sooyun was thirteen, she moved to Japan to live with her gradnmother's ailing friend. She attended high school and was much-less well-liked. There were few Koreans at school, and at the time Sooyn wasn't fluent in Japanese. She was very estranged from her classmates, and she only had one shoulder to cry on in Japan- The half Korean, half Japanese woman she was caring for, Tsukiyama Hyeon.

 

Sooyun adored her just like her grandmother. She even referred to her as Hye halmoni, and still does to this day. Hyeon cared for Sooyun  much like her blood grandmother did, and this girl is eternally grateful. Unfortunately, Hyeon passed away when Sooyun was fiffteen, and after the funeral Sooyun moved back to Korea. Her heart was absolutely broken, and moving in with her parents who were never there wasn't any help. Her brother was already well into the star life, and she felt undescribably alone. Sooyun had three months of solid depression, and this was ony broken when her best friends fought, fought, and fought to get through to her. Sooyun went to high school at a public school, where the situation was much like Japan, except people simply weren't used to her anymore.

 

She had only her friends (The few that had stuck with her in Korea while she was in Japan), and she ended up moving with her best friend to Seoul, that way she could be closer with her brother (This was when she was sixteen). Sooyun started spending all of her time with someone in SHINee, no matter who they were. When she was scouted, everything started looking up. She made ner friends, her new school was great- She was happy. But, last year on her brother's birthday, the one woman that had raised them, who had loved them, passed away. When their grandmother died, Kibum was purely heartbroken, and Sooyun turned to drowning herself in music until she could accept things. It's a scar that will never heal, but it's something that gives her strength as well.

— Kim Kibum | Idol (Triple-threat of SHINee) | 24 | Kibum and Sooyun are as close as they can be. They adore shopping, watching movies, and cooking together. Teasing is what these two siblings do best. They're both very protective of each other and Kibum really loves to visit her. Of course, they fight like all siblings, but any mean words exchanged are forgiven by the next day, usually. Without Kibum, Sooyun would simply waste away- Life without her big brother isn't one worth living, and the feelings are reciprocated by him. Without hs baby sister, what did he have? Being an idol is living the dream, honestly, but if Sooyun was no longer alive, it wouldn't be worth it.

— Kim Hana | Business woman | 40 | Sooyun isn't that close with her parents. Her grandmother raised her so she doesn't really care about them. She makes a point to see her parents at least once a year.

— Kim Jae | Accountant | 45 | Sooyun really doesn't like her father. He wasn't that supportive of her or her brother's dreams, and their personalities conflict.

Kim Areum | Best friend | 22 | Author | Cautious, hurried, supportive, creative. Areum and Sooyun are the beswt of friends. They were childhood neighbors, and despite the age differences, they didn't care at all. It was Areum's family that she moved out to Seoul with, so they're honestly just like sisters. The time apart in Japan only brought them closer together, which was quite a happy thing for them since beforehand they simply had a hard time understanding each other. It was Areum who comforted Sooyun when Hyeon passed away. When Areum published her first book last year, The Darkest Minds ((Just pretend the series is hers)), Sooyun threw a huge party for her. Often they just chill around and talk about each others' dreams- A best-selling author and an idol.
 

Kim HyunJae | Close friend | 19 | Waiter and JYP trainee | Agressive, complaintitive, easily-pleased, responsible. HyunJae and Sooyun met when Sooyun went to high school in Seoul. HyunJae was assigned to show her around, and Sooyun, being the clingy person she is, stuck to him from day one. He's quite happy with Sooyun as a friend, and always found his way into SM trainee showcases to watch her. Whenever they're done training, they often meet up in a park and go out for a meal, treat, or shopping before HyunJae walks her home. Every May 2nd (HyunJae's birthday), Sooyun takes him to an amusement park. He's next in line to debut in JYP's next boy group (Main dancer, face.)

 

Takahashi Momoka | Close friend | 18 | High school student and SM trainee | Hard-working, honest, self-centered, dramatic. Momoka and Sooyun actually met in school before Sooyun became a trainee (Momoka has been since she was ten, training as a main rapper). Momo (Nickname) was a good friend of HyunJae's, so naturally they met when Sooyun started high school. Momoka, strangely enough, never joins in on their after-training fun- The others don't know why, but in reality it's because Momoka has the biggest crush on HyunJae, and gets jealous when they do a lot of skinship and stuff. Fortunately, Momo wasn't angry when Sooyun was a part of Aeon- She took it like a good sport.

Park EunSun | Rival | 18 | High school student and SM trainee | Competitive, creative, hard-working, unreasonable, stand-offish. EunSun and Sooyun have been rivals since Sooyun started as a trainee. Her older brother happens to be Chanyeol of EXO, and since their brothers are both in popular groups, it's always been a fight- Not to mention that they're both lead vocalists in their trainee group. They have a healthy rivalry, they're no hate, only extreme competitiveness. When Sooyun gets into Aeon and EunSun doesn't, things only intensify. Being a top idol is her absolute dream, Sooyun will not get in her way.

 

Lee Anna | Trainer and mother figure | 23 | SM vocal trainer| Maternal, responsible, compassionate, sensitive, reserved. Despite the fact that this half Korean, half American woman is only 23, she's a vocal trainer at SM. She has great talent, but never was really inspired by being a potenial idol, thus when she was twenty she graduated from a trainee to a trainer, with the help of her own teacher. She mothers all of the trainees, particularly Sooyun and EunSun. Anna finds their rivalry to be amusing, and often takes the girl out together to eat to watch them fight.

 

(And the entirety of SHINee. I'll write it all out if you want me to, though besides Kibum, she's closest to Taemin and Jonghyun.)

personality » Naeun is a very quiet person- Usually, anyway. She's not one who stands out or yells when she gets angry- She quietly festers instead. When she's around people she trusts, though, she becomes a very cheerful and cute person. She's often a light in the darkness, and she always supports everyone with their dreams and wants in life. It's interesting, how she normally shines only if it helps others. One could say it's a bit of a bad yet kind habit.

 

Even still, she tends to not stand up for herself, which pisses a lot of people off. Naeun is a gorgeous, talented young woman, and then people deny that and trample all over her, she doens't speak a single word. Naeun simply sits there and lets it happen, which is something that Sooyun can't stand about her out of everything. She has little self confidence, and that's why she lets it happen- After all, years of being told you're not good enough get to you.

 

first meeting » Naeun and Sooyun actually met since they went to the same high school. Though it was a few years apart, Naeun regularly visits her former teachers- And Sooyun happened to have a lot of them. Since Sooyun used to like staying after school with different teachers, Naeun and her met many times. At first they were totally formal, but after quite a few meetings, Sooyun became casual with her. It was surprising for the young star, as many people just wanted to be her friend because she was an idol, where Sooyun had a genuine interest in her and her personality. They quickly became friends, and their relationship strengthened when Sooyun admitted to Naeun- And only to her, that the famous Key was her brother.

INTERACTIONS » Naeun and Sooyun tend to play a lot of video games together. Like...A lot. And when they'renot playing video games? They're drawing. While Sooyun is good, Naeun has a certain uniqueness and outside-of-the-box approach that makes her work a lot better. They tend to share everything with each other- Crushes, health issues, annoyances, etc. They see no problem with sharing everything with each other (Even if it's awkward issues like my has a rash what the hell do I do). The girls like to have a -ton of sleepovers and eat really yummy food that they cook together. Often they sing and dance to Apink, SHINee, Beast, BAP, Spica, and more, or maybe just chill with movies or variety shows. After Aeon debuts, Naeun always watches their variety/reality shows, which makes Sooyun disgustingly embarassed. They're actually pretty skin-shippy, always kissing each other on the cheek and cuddling and laying all over each other because they can.

They feel asleep while cuddling and Naeun woke up early in the morning to pee, and Sooyun looked so cute that she kissed her on the forehead. This was in early 2015.
» Sooyun's favorite memory is when she and Naeun simply sat and cuddled- Her head in Naeun's lap while she combed through her hair. It was so unbelieveaby calming and normal that it's really stuck with her. Mid 2016.
 

CONCLUSION » Sooyun asks Naeun out in November 2016, and from there they have a dating life like any other, quickly proud to call each other their girlfriend. Though it's not made public. It's hard, keeping it all a secret, but it's worth it. Only their families, friends, and bands know the truth. Though there is the occasional awkwardness, they are supported. But eventually they may get found out- I mean, have you seen those couple rings?
