I wish....

I wish people would be enthusiastic enough to comment. I'm glad that some faithful readers of mine take their time to leave a comment whenever I update, but where are the others???

I have 500+ subs in my story but I only receive less than 10 comments every time I update. Sometimes, only 5 comments appear...

It makes me think that people aren't interested in my story anymore, and that it's not worth reading like the popular stories out there.

I just felt like sharing, that's all....

Don't be so discouraged! I'm quite a silent reader in Wattpad and I don't comment because I just don't know what to say ;x. Sometimes, I hesitate to comment since I'm afraid to offend the author. I'm sure the silent readers enjoy your stories, since most of them are shy or afraid to comment! :D.

I am one of your readers and tbh, I'm not good at writing comments (esp long ones that really expresses my thoughts on the story) and sometimes it only ends up in me typing unnecessary stuff lol but all in all don't ever think that people don't appreciate your writings since it is your work that attracts the subscribers so cheer up:) (otl this is like the longest comment I'd ever typed)

I think the comments are important but like what everyone else is saying below, there are many silent readers on AFF. Many of them are not sure what to say, especially when it's a story that is still ongoing. Unfortunately, the number of subscriptions and comments never seem to match up but I think just because there are few comments does not mean your readers are less appreciative of your hard work!
So don't be discouraged :3 Fighting!

some people are just bad at writing comments. some people feel intimidated for one reason or another. the fact that these people are subscribed to your story in the first place means they're interested.

Oh no. Please don't feel that way. As an author, I really think AFF has a bunch of silent readers and most of the time, they refuse to comment simply because they don't know what to say. So do not be discouraged! I'm sure you have an army to support your fic! On a sidenote, I wish it would be fair for every writer to receive an equal number of comments as much as the subscriptions. I honestly feel bad that few authors have left the ficdom just because of this. I guess it's okay to demand such thing and know that you are appreciated. A little guarantee! Anyway, good luck! And I really hope you get to see more comments on your fic because you totally deserve them.

It must be dissapointing as an author. Most of the time i don't have anything to say. Especially when i'm extremely satisfied with a story. I end up with a comment when the story is finished. I am sorry dear. Will try to post more feedback on storys i'm reading.

don't feel like that. there an abundance of silent readers out there and most of them are shy. when I'm in reader mode I feel so awkward to post a comment. actually I don't even know what to post most of the time.

do you enjoy writing that story? if you think it's not interesting, don't change it to accommodate a readers taste. I at giving advices regarding comments and all that jazz but I'm here to give you an Internet hug. :) cheer up and just know that those people who comment each chapter are the motivation to keep you going!
