Anyone here knows Marie Lu? Read her novels?

I found out about her a few months ago when I decided to pick up LEGEND in Kinokuniya Singapore. Best decision ever. I was looking for something to read after I finished The Fault in Our Stars (I don't want to spend time fangirling for this novel because it's a blog about Marie Lu, but TFiOS is really beautiful. There are a lot of beautiful quotes. Too bad it's the only John Green's books that I like).

This is LEGEND.

And it's awesome. I read it in June. I absolutely adored it. Compared to the other novels I had recommended, this one is more of an action-romance, rather than just romance, spiced up with action. It's my new favorite (until I have the chance to read THE ROSE SOCIETY, probably). It's about a girl named June, who lives in a society where you have to take a test to determine your rank in the community. June scored a perfect 1500. And so did Day, but instead of being worshipped the way June was, Day was forced to go into hiding. He became a rebel to the country with a childhood friend of his. The story of how they met, and how they ultimately made the choices that would sacrifice their love was just beautiful.

LEGEND is the first in the series, so make sure to check out CHAMPION and PRODIGY as well.

The other book I have picked up is THE YOUNG ELITES, also written by Marie Lu.

It's a relatively new book, but it's been making a buzz, because come on, Marie Lu's novels are always awesome! 

So THE YOUNG ELITES talk about antagonism. The main character, Adelina, is a flawed dark character. You either adore her the way I do, or you find her hard to relate to. She is scarred. Her father was unfair. She was treated wrongly her entire life. Everyone betrayed her. If I were her, I would go on a revenge quest against those people, too. The second book, THE ROSE SOCIETY came out on October 1st, and I can't wait to read the online version. Seriously, people, can we fangirl together at how awesome Marie Lu is?

She is my newfound favorite author, after JK Rowling and Cassandra Clare. Marie Lu is AWESOME! I adore every novels of her. So... READ.IT.
