personality : when people watch kim myungsoo from afar, they are usually tricked by the cold and mysterious aura he tries to show. he looks like a very serious and unapproachable person, but those who know him well know that that's just a facade he uses to hide his shyness. he's a very timid and insecure person who's always afraid to express his feelings and disappoint the others. after he opens up to someone, they could notice how warm he actually is. since he can't seem to convey affection with words, he lets his action speak up instead. he's always very careful and caring around people he's close to and he's able to see even the tiniest swings in their mood and act accordingly. sometimes though, he seems to be a very possessive person with those he cares about, but only because he's very protective of them, he says. however, he gets jealous very easily and he acts in a childish way in the eyes of an external observer.

his friends consider him to be a very funny person, as he likes to crack jokes around people he's comfortable with and he's not afraid to show his bright side. however, only few chosen people can say they really know kim myungsoo, for he, as a very reserved person, doesn't share his thoughts easily and takes a while to fully trust someone. despite being a professional photographer and hence being supposed to share his works, he has a private collection of pictures he prints and comments in a photobook. he thinks of it as his personal journal diary, where he can write his thoughts. only two people ever read anything from it and saerom is the other one.

myungsoo is very passionate in everything he does, and he's very hardworking. he doesn't believe in talent; he thinks goals can be achieved only with hard work, practice and patience. he's very self-critical and he's never satisfied with himself, so, as a perfectionist, he always tries to improve himself.

meeting : as previously said, their first meeting happened back in 2014, on the day saerom found out the only available photographer for the day was the newly graduated myungsoo. as soon as she saw him standing in front of her, she just scoffed. "aren't you an assistant?" she asked after quickly looking at him from head to toes. "this is an important event, i can't risk him to mess everything up because he lacks experience," she finished as she turned to the owner of the photography studio they were at.

however, even if that first meeting wasn't very pleasant to myungsoo, he made saerom quickly change idea on him. he was as professional as the other photographers she had worked with in the last period of time and he actually has to thank her a lot for letting him earn some experience.

when in september they started to work together more often, they grew closer. at first their job was the only reason for them to meet, but after a while they started to see each other also outside their work time. most of the times, she was the one to ask him out and she didn't exactly know why. probably because he was the only friend around her age she had there in seoul, as all her other friends were older than her and it was nice to be comfortable and very informal with someone from time to time.

the way they got close might be funny somehow, as it happened because of a mistake. working together they obviously knew each other's numbers, but they only contacted the other to plan and talk about work until she decided to share with a friend a very idiotic image, unfortunately sending it to the wrong person. as soon as she realized her mistake she tried to cancel the picture from the chatroom, but sadly once something has been sent, you can only delete it from your own device, not from the other person's too. for a few seconds she panicked, but then she got a laugh and an equally idiotic image as a reply from myungsoo and since then they started sharing funny things first and they started to talk about more serious topics after, getting to know each other.

for a while, they only met during working hours and talked through texts. however, around december, she decided to ask him out. that day she had planned to see a friend of hers, but something came up and that friend couldn't make it to the cinema with her, leaving saerom alone with the two tickets she had bought a few moments before knowing the news. she remembered she had talked about that movie with myungsoo earlier that day, so she thought it would have been nice if he could come, if he was free. and luckily, he was.

saerom doesn't even know exactly how, but the more she talked to him and saw his face, the more she felt like something was changing in her heart. for a few months she tried to convince herself she just enjoyed his presence as a friend, probably because she was afraid of him not feeling the same for her. she also refused to think the skinship he liked so much meant something more.

it was late spring in seoul, and saerom and myungsoo were sitting in a street bar like they got the habit to do on thursday nights since a few months. saerom just poured herself another glass of soju when it suddenly hit her. "today it's exactly one year we know each other," she said smiling. "time flies, huh? one year ago i wouldn't have even thought of sitting here drinking with you."

"me too," myungsoo said, picking up a piece of egg roll from the plate they were sharing. he smirked and looked at her in the eyes. "my first impression of you wasn't very nice. i didn't really like you at first, you looked so snobbish."

saerom chuckled. "same here. i didn't like you at all back then, you looked like you wanted to murder me for calling you an assistant even if it was the truth." she gulped her soju in one shot and shivered a bit feeling the warm alcohol going down . she had always been a very talkative person, but alcohol made her even more chatty than usual. the only problem was that it also unlocked the mental filter her brain had to stop herself from saying something embarrassing. "but look at me now instead, here spending my time with you hoping you'd just kiss me or something."

saerom slapped with her hand as she realized she hadn't just thought the last part when myungsoo started to cough, choking on his drink. however, to her surprise, as soon as he calmed down he avoided her worried gaze and mumbled "same here" just loud enough for her to hear.

and now : starting from that night when she accidentally spilled out how she's feeling for myungsoo and, surprise surprise, she found out he felt exactly the same, they got another habit other than drinking on thursdays --spending the night together at saerom's place usually, since his apartment was so small it looked more like a cheap motel room than an actual flat. after a couple months into their relationship, he found another accommodation after searching for a while, in a nice neighborhood not too far from saerom's house, as it's still too soon for them to even think of living together. she helped him move out and they even spent a few days together painting the walls and decorating the new flat, which turned out to look like a picture in an interior design magazine as they both have a nice taste for furniture and her experience in wedding planning can be useful too.

when she helped him moving out, she saw his personal photobook for the very first time. being very reserved, myungsoo almost had a panic attack when he saw her flipping the pages, but as soon as he noticed her smile he decided she was actually allowed to look at it. since then, she's also allowed to accompany him during his so far lonely walks around the city to take pictures and it's useless to say that since then his photobook has been full of pictures of saerom.

when they're not working, they usually hang out in cafes, restaurants or bars, as they both really enjoy eating. at least once every two week they try a new restaurant specialized in foreign cuisine, but their favorite is still the typical korean barbecue close to saerom's apartment.
