› positive - honestly, yang haeun is a textbook hufflepuff. her loyalty - to an.beat, to exuare entertainment, to her family at home, to her friends - simply doesn't die; she'll gladly stay with her friends until the end of time. if you befriend haeun, she'll be there for you forever - through anything from a 1:00 AM drunk phonecall after a bad break-up to a wedding in the middle of spring, she'll be there for you. and it's not like she ever flakes, either - haeun will gladly drop everything if one of her friends needs her, no matter how impractical it is for her to do so. haeun is also a hard worker. when she initially joined exuare entertainment, she worked in training her dancing and vocals constantly, giving up getting good grades at school and even sleeping, because she wanted - no, needed - to debut. when an.beat failed to gain success during their debut era, haeun would stay back in the practice room, figuring that, just maybe, if she danced better or sang better, she'd stop holding the group back and they could be successful. even now - while she's falling in love for the first time, while an.beat's officially a successful group - she doesn't stop practicing. at the same time, though, haeun was willing to go through all of that with a smile on - she's a patient girl, in the end. she puts up with everything the world throws at her - be it moon youngae on a bad day or another interviewer asking her if her chest is real or the dude she likes being so, so incredibly stupid, all the time  - no matter what happens, she'll grin through it, as if nothing even bothers her. she's willing to work with the members on choreography hundreds of times over until they get it right, and won't blow up at them even once.

neutral - haeun doesn't dwell on the past - she believes that you can learn lessons from it, yes, but really, you should be living right now, in this moment. there's no pictures of her family or seoul friends in her dorm, just her with her groupmates and idol friends - she still loves everyone back home,  and she still will drop everything if something happens to them, but in her view, she needs to focus on her now as an idol, and who she is as an entertainer. she prefers not to celebrate her birthday (though the other members insist) and doesn't like anniversaries, either - she prefers looking at things to come, not things that have been, and is furiously unsentimental. she doesn't get mad about those things, though - in fact, haeun is rarely mad...or sad...ever. it's kind of strange, honestly, how she can stay either completely pokerfaced or smiling 100% of the time. if she's fighting with a member, she won't blow up at them; if she's uncomfortable, she'll take deep breaths and smile like it's nothing; even if you talk to her about it, she probably won't say much, preferring to stay mellow. haeun is more of a listener than a talker, though she'll answer questions if she's asked them, and even then she's got a naturally soft voice that's far better for harmonizing along with the rest of the vocal line than it is holding conversations. her tone is eternally gentle, though that honestly pisses some people off even more. you're angry, so why are you so quiet? we've been through this choreo five-ing-hundred times, so how can you not be pissed off? or - at least - how can you not sound pissed off?

negative - haeun's a firm believer in the talents of others while not believing in herself  an ounce. she's confident in her skills as a dancer and pretty much nothing else. her vocals are so quiet, so un-powerful - does she even deserve to be  on the vocal line, when there's three other capable vocalists in the group? yes, she can dance, but there wouldn't need to be two lead dancers if she wasn't lacking in some area, right? what's more is that so little attention is placed on her as a person - she's there to explain choreography and to be teased about her appearance, and that's pretty much it. she avoids reading articles about herself or even reading comments on performances or fancams, because with each one, she just feels worse. (and you'll never know this, because she's always, always calm.) haeun's also pretty darn gullible - it's easy to prank her because she'll fall for pretty much absolutely anything, ever. tell her that chartreuse is a shade of pink and she'll probably post to instagram about it, raving about how happy this new knowledge has made her...and then, undoubtedly, someone will point out to her that chartreuse is a gross green-yellowy color, and then she'll feel down about herself. it's because of those traits, plus her natural hardworking side, that make her unable to stop. she doesn't get lots of sleep because she's usually anxious, thinking about tomorrow and how she can improve (and the consequences if she doesn't). sure, outwardly, haeun is calm, but if you were to look inside her head for just a second, you'd be shocked by exactly how anxious she actually is.

› yang haeun - along with her twin brother hasun and her younger brother, haeil - was born and raised in a large apartment in seoul, south korea, by her mother lee yoonjung and her father yang sunghyun. her parents are both office workers - her father in real estate and her mother in a travel agency - that didn't usually have time to raise kids (or have them, even - both times yoonjung got pregnant, she didn't mean to do so) and as a result, they often weren't home; hasun and haeun (and, starting wen they were both five, her younger brother haeil) were pretty much raised by a series of nannies and babysitters, only seeing their parents during public holidays and rare days off from work for other reasons.  her interest and love for dancing started at during elementary school, when she began attending a dance academy close to her apartment building with hasun while her parents worked office hours and haeil stayed at daycare. while hasun gave dancing up and moved on to liking soccer, haeun stuck with her little academy, learning how to dance for after school every day, and eventually becoming extremely passionate about it. a talent scout from dsp media visited the academy and scouted haeun in 2005; fifteen-year-old haeun, naive and oh-so-ready to learn not just how to dance but how to be a dancer, jumped at the chance and, with the blessing of her parents (if it was their first son they would've cared quite a lot more) joined dsp media shortly after.

it's safe to say that yang hasun knows everything about yang haeun, and yang haeun knows everything about yang hasun. they were born at the same time, they grew up at the same time, and even when haeun went to train when they were 15, they still pretty much were always together. through every hard experience - notably hasun had an ankle injury that forced him to give up soccer in 2009, something he's as passionate about as haeun is about dancing - and through every major life shift, they've been right there next to each other. (maybe not physically, but you know.) haeun is also furiously trying to get hasun to give up smoking, a habit he picked up after getting solid work as a photojournalist. (he is having none of it.)

(haeun's non-debut in rainbow was the first seed of insecurity planted in her mind, and it's been blossoming ever since.) refusing to just go home, haeun auditioned for exuare entertainment, a smaller company where she was more likely to have a chance to debut. she was placed in a trainee group with five other girls; these girls ended up being an.beat. haeun had no pre-debut experiences to speak of, and mostly just focused on training her vocals and dancing 24/7. she didn't make many friends before being placed in an.beat, but quickly became a pillar of support for the other girls, which certainly is good enough for her.

› 2012 - an.beat's haeun's soju commercial is too ual?: haeun jumped at the chance to do her first cf, especially alongside hara, who she vaguely knew from when she was under dsp - but there was quickly an internet backdraft, thanks to the cf clashing so much with an.beat's image. the response to the cf was good, though, and haeun gained more positive publicity than she did negative, so...
› 2013 - an.beat's haeun is dating vixx's n?: false. they'd gone out for coffee on a rare day where they both didn't have schedules so they could talk; things got misconstrued.
