Why? Authors have feelings too.

As an author, it bothers me when people unsub to the story when I update a chapter. I don't know if i am the only one who has this happening but i feel quite hurt. It had been a long time since i had updated because my story is complete. So many people wanted me to write a sequel so i decided that i would and updated the link as a new chapter. Once i did, people started unsubbing and that really hurt my feelings. Authors, do you guys get that kind of response too?? I'm just curious, cause i feel like i'm the only one in this position. ;(

I have a different problem: When I post a poll for my story and get more than 1000+ votes combined, it makes me happy knowing that people are reading. But when I update a new chapter, only 400 or something people actually read it when I update a chapter. And don't even get me started on the number of comments I get askin to "update soon". Nothing else, no feedback on what they thought. Just a update soon :(

I get sad when that happens, but mostly I have to accept the fact most of my stories are on subscribers only status. people may have liked the start of it, but lost interest towards the middle or end. what I think is rude is that if a person up votes a story and then later on retracts it.

Of course! I think all authors do because we're really working hard for that story and some just kind of mess it up. But don't worry too much! There are still those people that even though they do not subscribe, they still have that feeling of reading it! Cheer up! :)

I'm sorry, I feel like I'm one of the culprits. I love love love your stories, but personally? As someone who likes to keep my stuff organized, just so I can clean up my subscriptions tab, I usually unsubscribe when I'm done reading stories. However, I do upvote. Maybe that could be a reason?
