Personality : is quiet, shy, and finds it hard to open up. She likes to draw, is an accomplished gymnast. Jialei truly struggles with meeting new people and has stage fright.
Background : She was a typical Hong Kong child growing up, devoting herself early to gymnastics. Jialei was known to do some routines at school, though those were more dance than gymnastics. At the beginning of school she would leave early for gym, which was normally when her class was being taught Mandarin. She also learned English via a different tutor because of the change of rule at Hong Kong, as her family planned to move to America as soon as Jia was old enough to attend college. As a result, she got a private tutor, and therefore speaks British English due to the former rule of Hong Kong. As the youngest sibling to older twin brothers (and another older brother0, she gained the skills ofa cting - when she would either get them out of trouble, into trouble, or just to troll them in general. She speaks Mandarin at an almost fluent level, studying it along with her classmates (though privately). Her family was pretty much anchored down and established in their area, so it was surprising when Jia wanted to go to Korea as part of an international exchange studnet program. When she got scouted off the streeets by SM, her parents supported her and continue to do so, even from across the Pacific where they not reside in San Francisco.
