fashion sense. haewon's fashion choices leave others often wondering how in the world she manages to healthily survive winter. most of her wardrobe consists of clothes fit for a warm summer afternoon, with her growing collection of flannelette shirts being the only thing appropriate for a sudden day of north-westerlies. don't bother trying to force her into a pair of jeans and a sweater unless it's for promotional reasons, because she may accidentally hurt you if you do.

haewon has almost constantly been seen carrying a bright and cheerful aura that is bound to put a smile on the face of pretty much anybody she comes in contact with. she knows how to break the ice with a small joke or strike up a friendly conversation, both in ways that never appear to be bothersome to the others involved. however on the odd occasion she can rub someone the wrong way and come off as a tryhard good guy, but she doesn't let that ever stop her from being happy and being the light in a dark tunnel. one thing that haewon dislikes about being bright and cheerful is the misconception that she would make a great leader; she thinks of herself more as the aware child rather than the responsible adult and admits she would be horrible under pressure to keep others in check and lead a team.

haewon has a lot of confidence in herself and knows that her skills are something to be proud of, so it's only natural for her to love showing what she can do. if she can take centre stage she'll make the most of her time there, but knows when to step back into the shadows (if she must) and let another person have their turn. sometimes her confidence can be interpreted as her being quite the conceited show-off, but this is purely because she hates her efforts going unnoticed. what's the point of trying if nobody will believe you anyway?

Haewon's ultimate goal in life is to come out of each day having accomplished something new, whether it be finishing an assignment not due until the end of the week or finding a technique to stop her voice cracking when dipping into a lower vocal register. the sense of accomplishment is her primary source of satisfaction, and it's very easy to tell when she walks out of a day unsatisfied. an unsatisfied haewon does a complete one-eighty and completely closes herself off, and people who have witnessed this side of her various times have even commented that it's the only time she will ever spit out a curse word or shed a tear for herself.

tl;dr jin haewon can easily be described as the pet rabbit whose owner would only find it a handful if they knew absolutely nothing about how to look after a rabbit. she can be cheerfully running around its playpen one day with sparkling eyes whenever a feeding hand came to visit, then the next refuse to leave its bed because it was embarrassed about running straight into one of the walls.

haewon was born in the early winter of 1997 as the older of female twins, being only seven minutes older than her younger sister haejoo. her mother, jin sooyeon, was working as an assisstant at the time for an editor at kyongnam shinmun, a newspaper in their shared birthplace of changwon, and from what haewon can remember, never expected to have children until she had settled down in her early thirties.
the twins' father, on the other hand, has always remained what scout finch could call a "malevolent phantom" since even before they were born. they have never held any interest in finding their other parents, nor do any of them ever expect the other to do so. they're both happy with just the two of them and sooyeon, and that's the way they hope it can stay.

saying that haewon was a proper show-off as a child would be quite the understatement. her confidence came at a very young age and instead of it being shown in a calm and mature manner like haejoo's, it was shown through an interest in obnoxiously singing along to music shows on television and being the headlining act at family functions. most of the evidence to back these claims can easily be found on the majority of their family's home video collection, including some very embarrassing vlogs she made with her still-developing fluency in korean (she was a child that had major progress left to make in her native language) that if you ever brought up she would awkwardly laugh off.

a few months after the twins' ninth birthday her mother was offered the soon-to-be vacant position as the weather girl on the kbs nine o'clock news (she had began appearing in local commercials a few years earlier and gained a reputation as the "pretty girl behind the paper"). unlike haejoo, who was overjoyed for her mother's new career, haewon wasn't too excited about having to make the move to seoul. she was comfortable as she was in changwon, so why go through the trouble of starting again in a brand new city? nonetheless, the female trio made their move in mid-2008 and settled into a small two-bedroom apartment in yeongdeungpo district where they still remain today.
starting at a new school was one problem haewon wasn't too phased about on the outside. the inside showed a completely different story; in fact she was scared. she was scared of just being another face in the crowd, not being liked by her fellow classmates, or even being one of the students that are exiled by everybody else. even though she had to start from scratch, she made it her ultimate duty to make sure she wasn't ever forgotten and built up a reputation as her classroom's "happy pill" who was willing to lend a helping hand coupled with sparkling eyes and a smile; a skill she had developed during her early childhood in changwon. slowly she started worrying less about making an impact which easily made her character more likable, and eventually the helping hand known as jin haewon became the true her.

despite her growing positivity becoming a staple in her personality, haewon was still adamant on her childhood dreams to become a professional performer - the one thing she could love doing more than anything else the universe had to offer her. her presence was made known during music classes, she joined the small drama club at her middle school and even began learning how to play the guitar using online lessons. after two years of proper practice haewon decided to try and send around an audition tape to some of the big korean companies in seoul (both as a shameless way of promoting herself and to get some feedback in the field). sooyeon heard about this and noticed that her oldest daughter was coming to no avail with callbacks so she took the chance to use some of her growing star power to get her the callback she deserved. at first haewon was against the idea, but when she finally received a letter from pledis entertainment (the home of son dambi and after school) to attend a special audition, there was no way she could turn down the offer. haewon knew how much work she would have to put in so her mother's efforts wouldn't overshadow her in the future, and honestly, she was up for the challenge.

she originally began her training under pledis entertainment in 2010 where she became known as the energetic youngster that held much more talent than her pre-adolescent age could accomModate. she was part of a group of trainees that began to be featured in their labelmates' music videos, most notably in after school's mv for "bang!" and orange caramel's mv for "aing♡" just less than a year after joining pledis. there was potential behind her, that was for sure, but it seemed that her young age was what really held her back from achieving some sort of major breakthrough.
in late 2011 she was chosen as one of the potential members to debut under the company's second girl group and fantiago collaboration (eventually named hello venus) but was dropped from the lineup two months before their debut for still-unknown reasons. despite the setback and sudden slow down of features in her debut haewon refused to let it stop her and continued improving her skills as a trainee.
haewon eventually left pledis entertainment after three years and decided to focus on her education for a while before getting herself back out into the entertainment industry. haejoo was the person who convinced her to try out for big hit entertainment later that year, after the debut of the seven-member boy group bts had impressed the twins, and with some reluctant word-of-mouth association she was accepted as a trainee under the company.
unlike her time under pledis, haewon didn't find herself being a featured trainee in any artist's work but preferred that fate over her exposure in pledis, as it gave her more time to develop her talent as she grew up and find her sound if she ever got the chance to go solo in the future.
the news of a possible new girl group emerging from big hit was the break she felt she needed, and began training even harder than before in order to be noticed and eventually selected. and she constantly hoped that her hello venus fate would not come back a second time if she was chosen.

on stage wonwoo presents himself as the charasmatic deep-voiced rapper whose cold gaze often gives misrepresentations to the other side of him.
however off stage he is much more unique than one would be once lead to believe. his on stage personality takes an entire one-eighty turn and wonwoo becomes a cute (yet very quiet, in comparison to his fellow groupmates) teenager who likes making eye contact and softly hits people when things get awkward. he even once picked up a chair and pretended to hit almost everything in sight.
he believes that he's a little on the lazy side but as he says that he's already filled up books with potential song lyrics and created a list of performances he would like to do at one of seventeen's concerts one day. sure he may not like moving that much on his "days off" but he still works hard.
all-in-all wonwoo can truly be his label of "charasmatic sloth", but there's more than just that which he accentuates and makes him one unique guy.

wonwoo and haewon first met one another as trainees under pledis entertainment almost four years ago, where they connected through their shared hometown of changwon. although they were placed in different training programs, both found time where they could just sit together and air out their thoughts and feelings on life and everything around them. it became habit for wonwoo to wait for haewon at the end of the day and vice versa, as the two would always make sure the other got home safely.
when haewon left pledis wonwoo made sure that the two kept in touch and that they did, from hour-long skype conversations to simple "good morning" and "good night" texts if their schedules that day were packed. this still continues today, even with wonwoo's growing daily schedules as a member of the newly-debuted seventeen.

relationship.
their friendship is one that shouldn't require that much communication but does anyway, even if the two are no longer under the same company. they can go to one another for a shoulder to lean (and sometimes cry) on, and come out feeling on top of the world; this especially applies to wonwoo as haewon is definitely on her happy pill game around him. they can always go to the other for advice or if they want something new to share with their respective groups, and even decided to create a secret handshake that's so complicated nobody else can ever follow. it's quite a comfortable atmosphere when they're together, and that's the way both of them like it.
do wonwoo and haewon think their close bond will ever be taken to the next level? they won't outright sandbag the idea but it's not something that they have had to worry about because the romantic sparks either don't exist or are so hidden it seems like they don't exist. but after the two go out for a meal together, which is captured by dispatch and becomes part of one of seventeen's big scandals, the idea of becoming a couple doesn't sound like such a bad idea after all. maybe the dating thing could work out for them, they reckon.
