Questions About K-Pop

1. Favourite K-Pop lyric?

TBH I should probably put some sort of BTS song here to satisfy everyone, but when it comes to favourite K-Pop lyrics, I always go towards Fat Cat's "Is Being Pretty Everything?" (especially the chorus) and nobody can stop me.

2. First K-Pop song?

Tell me, tell me, te-te-e-te-e tell me

3. Favourite picture of your ultimate bias?

I'm more of a GIF person myself, so instead of being blessed with a picture of Lee Sunho, you're being blessed with a GIF instead XD.

4. How did you get into K-Pop?

It was during Year Seven when my friends were on electives, and one of them showed me the MV for "Tell Me". At first I wasn't that interested in anything like that (at the time I was a hardcore Rusher) but then as she showed me it again and again, it got stuck in my head. I even went onto YouTube and searched up "Wonder Girls video where chick turns into superhero with bus" to get to the MV. That made me begin to get into other songs, such as "So Hot" and "Nobody", then she introduced me to Girls' Generation through "Gee" and I began being interested in them as well. But at that time I couldn't consider myself part of the K-Pop fandom at all, because if I remember correctly, I got myself into Allstar Weekend and they triumphed everything at that point.

Then when I was listening to "Kissing You", Super Junior's "It's You" was recommended for me. I clicked on it, and then I fell deeply for Super Junior and K-Pop in general. And that's when I officially got into K-Pop, I suppose.

That was a fun story time right there.

5. How has K-Pop changed your life?

Oh, you have absolutely no idea how much K-Pop has changed my life. Not only has it become my reputation amongst my year group at high school, it has also become something that has infected my home life for the better, and is something that has helped me to bond with certain people (such as a few of my friends, people online, and even my own brother). The only downside to this entire experience that is on its sixth year, is that I'm poor af but still want to buy so many albums OTL.

6. Who was your first male bias?

The one and only Lee Hyukjae, better known as Eunhyuk, from Super Junior. I remember all of my friends were like, "why do you like him out of all of them? He's not even that good looking," and he was the person that made me realise that I don't really have feelings for people based on appearances (but he's still really handsome, especially with platinum blond hair that was a blessing to us all). He was also the member that I always stared at during Super Junior's dances when it came to learning them, and is the reason that to this day, I still know how to dance almost all of their choreography (up to "A-cha" era, at least XD).

7. Who was your first female bias?

Since we talked about Super Junior, we gotta talk about Girls' Generation and how my first female bias was Seo Joohyun, better known as Seohyun. It was the MV for "Kissing You" that made me fall for her, because whilst all the other members were pretty much just there for me, she was the one that caught my attention because of how angelic and innocent she looked. Whenever I listened to other Girls' Generation songs, I would always sing along to her parts and when I did their choreography, it was Seohyun that I looked out for.

8. Do you think you will ever 'outgrow' K-Pop?

I can honestly say that I have outgrown it two times in my life and gone onto other interests for a long period of time, but have always been dragged back into the world by something going on that I have to know about. One of these times was around when One Direction became really internationally popular (the "What Makes You Beautiful" era is so nostalgic) and so from about October 2011 to February 2012, I was a Directioner and had no interest in K-Pop. But it was Boyfriend that brought me back into this world.

The second time was from about December 2012 to November 2013, when I would sporadically go back to check up on K-Pop (mainly just to see EXO's comeback that we all waited for for over a goddamn year) but made my way into the band scene. All Time Low, We Are The In Crowd, Pierce The Veil, Sleeping With Sirens, Bullet For My Valentine, Bring Me The Horizon, The Summer Set...these all took over my life around that time and my interest in K-Pop dropped to a complete zero. I think it was my friend (you'll know her as Ignissus on here) who kept on playing EXO's "Growl" that brought me to love that song and back into this world.

But I can definitely say that I will outgrow it from time to time, but K-Pop will forever hold a place in my heart (and in my bedroom, with all these goddamn albums). Even my love for it today ain't as strong as it was in 2011 or 2014, because my ultimate fandom is the 48G fandom, but I will forever be grateful to how it has changed my life and made me happier and even more sociable (although I still sound like such a prude sometimes).

9. What do you love the most about K-Pop in general?

To be honest, it 100% has to be the choreography. Some groups may have choreography as simple as two plus two, whilst others are almost anatomically impossible (I'm looking at you, my gorgeous BTS and G-Friend), but you can't help but sit in awe whenever an artist performs their choreography. Every single thought into the positioning of members, the hours spent on purely synchronisation, the one focus point that stands out amongst the rest of their moves ... from experience alone, I have never seen a professional music artist outside of K-Pop, or even J-Pop, attempt to perform choreography as complicated as theirs.

10. If you had the chance to be a K-Pop idol, what would you sing about? Which other idol/group would you like to meet, if possible?

I'm not a huge fan of singing songs that have to do with romantic relationships and ual activity, so I would hope to not be part of a group that has to release music like that. Anything else though is welcomed. Friendships, academics, peer pressure, hardships, family, society in general - all of these appeal to me so much when it comes to lyrics.

As for what other idols I would like to meet as an idol myself, I would be absolutely ecstatic if I had the chance to meet someone like F(x) or Girls' Generation. These are just the two groups that I think would probably be my idol self's inspirations when it comes to what type of person the public sees me as, and just meeting them in general would be amazing.

11. From each of your bias groups, who is your current bias?

Shinhwa

What can I say? Andy has been my #1 love in K-Pop since 2014 and I have a feeling it would never change.

Seventeen

I became attached to the idiot that is Mingyu and whilst I have cheated on him several times gdi Hoshi, Seungkwan and Wonwoo, I have always returned.

Winner

Jinwoo is the first and only bias I have had in Winner and that's probably one of my proudest accomplishments.

Monsta X

My heart used to belong to Minhyuk and then Wonho came along and changed the entire game for me in the world of Monsta X.

GOT7

I can proudly say that Youngjae is a bias of mine that I will protect and defend even beyond my last days alive because he is precious and deserves it.

Red Velvet

My search for my RV bias was a tough one that involved all five members, but I have settled on Irene and it makes me feel at ease.

Girls' Generation

I may have started with Seohyun, but I plan to end my journey with Girls' Generation with Yoona.

F(x)

Since the very beginning of my journey with F(x), I have been in love with Krystal and she has always remained #1.

Nine Muses

I'm sad to admit that this only happened after I found out that Eunji had left, but Hyemi is my current 9M angel.

G-Friend

Although Eunha was my original bias, SinB has won me over through their "Rough" comeback and her visuals.

12. Girl Power - Who are your top five favourite K-Pop ladies?

My number one K-Pop lady is the goddess that is Heo Youngji, who won my heart without me noticing.

Red Velvet's Irene is definitely my bae (*ba dum tss*).

Next up is the Queen of K-Pop visuals with Girls Generation's Yoona. Her song with 10cm is so soothing.

Fourth is my derp queen with Girl's Day's Yura that deserves more recognition than she currently gets.

Last but definitely not least, we have F(x)'s Krystal who is a misunderstood sweetheart.

13. At what age did you get into K-Pop?

I was eleven and a Year Seven in intermediate school.

14. How long have you been into K-Pop?

Well, now I'm seventeen and a Year Thirteen in high school (final year of school and it scares me), so feel free to do the math XD

15. What is your OTP?

Although they are not mentionedanywhere else on here so far, they will be mentioned here. When it comes to OTPs, I am absolute BaekSoo trash. Whether it's their violent natures towards one another, their interactions when they're not being violent towards one another, or just their amazing voices when they blend together, they make me happy whenever I see them interact. Maybe because I, too, would love to beat up Byun Baekhyun.

But I am becoming HyungWonHo trash as well I need some help.

16. First K-Pop related merchandise you purchased?

Around the time that it was being released, I managed to convince my brother to buy me U-KISS' Doradora album and for the past four years, it has gone through both thick and thin as when I got it, I had no idea what I meant to do with it to keep it safe. It still survives along with the rest of my other albums, but poor thing wasn't cherished at all and I feel kinda sad about that.

17. If you could meet a bias right now, what would you say?

Outright just gonna address this question towards Hyungwon (he ain't my bias in Monsta X but my heart has been falling for him even more as each day passes). If I ever got the chance to meet him, the first thing that I would tell him is that he deserves his place in the group, no matter what his haters say about the decision. I would tell him that his voice has proved unbelivably and his tone is gorgeous, his body is very pleasing on the eyes and his skin is clearer than my own future. But I think that the most important thing that I would tell Hyungwon is that despite their setbacks from possible scandals or not winning the rookie award like he passionately wanted to or not being able to have a concert as early as he hoped, that he should never give up on reaching for the top. One day his dreams of winning the daesang will come true, as long as he always promises to give 110% and never gives up, no matter how tough a task may become.

Then, if we were meeting in person, I would hug him (or at least squeeze his hands) tightly and say that Monbebes will always support Monsta X, no matter what happens. Pretty much just our entire conversation would be quite deep, as long as he doesn't fall asleep on me.

18. Which K-Pop stars do you think seem the most sincere?

Whenever "K-Pop" and "sincere" are in the same sentence, my mind automatically goes towards Dongwan. I honestly have never found an idol in the industry that isn't afraid to speak about what they believe in, or protect their friends without worrying about the consequences that ultimately follow, in a way that he does. He even told his fans that "Shinhwa is not responsible for your life", and constantly reminded sasaeng fans that there are other things to worry about other than him, such as getting into a good university or thinking about how their actions now as fans can affect their future. He is one of the greatest idols in terms of not giving a about what others say about him, and is honestly my role model in life.

19. What do you think about the harsh training/schedules of idols?

My opinion on this is rather on the fence because it has both its pros and cons, depending on which way you are willing to look at it. Of course the vigorous hours that idols spend keeping themselves both relevant and above others' expectations are almost like animal cruelty (especially with the stories of trainees being hit by company staff), but, as harsh as it is for me to say this, they are the ones that are willing to put themselves through all the pain and time to reach their dreams and that is admirable.

20. If you could be in any K-Pop group as an additional member, who would it be and why?

I would personally love to be a member of Red Velvet, because being able to become a part of their fantastic journey would be a dream come true. I think that the member I would get along with the best would be Seulgi, and I would probably become attached to the hip with her if I had the chance to XD.

A close second and third would be G-Friend and Apink, for sure.

21. What concept do you want your bias group to do that they haven't done before?

For Shinhwa, I would love to see them either re-attempt their "Eusha! Eusha!" concept (because back in 1998, that was an ultimate fail) or do something along the lines of what g.o.d did with "Saturday Night". Pretty much, just scrap the seriousness for one album and become cute ahjussis XD.

As for Red Velvet, I would love to see them do something like G-Friend. Maybe not necessarily the school concept, but the innocent vibe with outstanding dancing.

22. If you could have any idol/group sing at your wedding, who would it be and what song?

I wanna say OT5 DBSK but since I wanna try and stay a bit more realistic, I'll take JYJ. Why? Excellent vocals and amazing harmonies means that I'm bound to have a wonderful soundtrack to my dream wedding (which I have never thought about in my entire life, because weddings don't excite me).

23. If you could go on We Got Married with any of your biases, which one would you go with and what kind of couple would you be?

I should probably stop it with all the Monsta X omfg Minhyuk would be such a joy to be with on We Got Married. He would be the type to try and make everything enjoyable for both of us, and would actually be trying to be a great husband (and not even just for the sake of the show and its script). Like, we would end up being that couple that is probably too hyperactive for the camera crew to keep up with, and maybe even the scriptwriters would stop writing things for us to say because we manage to make great television without having to be told what to do XD. Once the cameras were off, we would calm down quite a bit but Minhyuk is the type that would be happy about creating a friendship out of the show and pretty much once we were done, we would go from being the hyper couple to the hyper friends that probably always scream whenever one of us sees the other.

24. What was your "At First Sight" bias in your current bias group? Are they still your bias?

South Korea's "Little Prince" Shin Hyesung was my "At First Sight" bias when it comes to Shinhwa. He was the first member that I could recognise without the need to refer to one of the "who's who" websites and because of that, I became interested in him to the point where he became my bias in the group. Now that Andy has taken over his place at the top of my Shinhwa bias list, he's just that one bias that I wanna fight whenever I see him. Seriously. All the other members can do something and I'd react like a normal fangirl, and then when Hyesung comes along and does the same thing, I feel like throwing myself out the window from the amount of cringe I experience. I don't know why this happens to me, but it does, and I kinda like it.

25. If you could perform a piece of choreography with any K-Pop idol/group, who would it be?

Need I say more?

26. If you could describe yourself as one K-Pop song, what song would you be?

I'm Wheein OTL

27. With your current bias group, make up a small description with you as the original character. Who are you and how are you connected to the members of your bias group in your (fanfic) life?

I am so glad that this isn't a scenario question because I at writing those, but I'd probably end up turning it into one nonetheless. EDIT: As I write this, yeah this is a definite scenario rn god dammit.

So let's just imagine that this is a high school setting because that is the only way that I can make this work without going into too much detail about surroundings. And, in true fanfiction fashion, I just so happen to be the new girl at school that has absolutely no idea what she is doing or even why she's there in the first place. When I go to the administration office, the first person I meet is Junjin, because he's a cool person that knows all the people that work there and helps out because he loves it. So, like, when the line is kinda long he asks if he can help with anything, and I'd be like, "um...I'm new..." and Junjin would just walk behind the counter and come back with everything that I needed. Unfortunately, we would not be in the same class. But the person that is in my class is Andy, who sits near the front with his books out, waiting for the teacher to arrive because the bell went about five minutes ago. And when I open the door to the classroom, he'd perk up and then realise it wasn't the teacher and then probably slump back into his chair. However, near the back of the class sits Minwoo, who doesn't recognise me to save his life, and thus tells his mates (aka Dongwan) to get me to go over and hang out with them. So now I'd be stuck at the back of the class sitting with the two that keep on passing notes to one another whilst the teacher is staring straight at them. When the bell goes to indicate the lunch break, Minwoo would drag me along with him and Dongwan to the soccer field where they usually sit. Not surprisingly, Junjin is also there, and greets me with a warm smile and probably a hug too because he knows who he is and he likes to have fun. Next to him is Hyesung, who is bound to be looking like he was forced to be there until he sees Dongwan and almost tackles him to the ground. As Junjin is very warm towards me, and both Hyesung and Dongwan are off in their own world, Minwoo would still be trying to hit on me in some way, but his constant flirting or pick up lines would not work on me at all. The surprising thing for AU moi is when I see Eric coming towards the group, with a smiling Andy following suit. It's almost like he's playing one person during his classes, and another person with his friends. Eric is welcoming (maybe a bit cold but welcoming nonetheless) whilst Andy is rather quiet, but still remaining rather radiant with his presence. "So, new kid, where did you come from?" is likely to come out of Dongwan's mouth, if he hasn't already asked it, and knowing me, I'd just end up saying something like, "Oh, ah, I came from [insert place here]" and both Junjin and Minwoo would be going "Wah! That's awesome!", and they would ask more questions which I would have no choice but to answer in my awkward manner. Pretty much by the end of the day, the people I could consider my 'closest friends' out of the entire group would probably be Junjin (who is being warm and considerate) and Dongwan (who is just simply trying to strike a conversation), whilst Minwoo would still be persistent towards trying to get me to fall under his charm (probably won't ever work but okay). Eric and Hyesung would still need a bit of time to warm up to me. Andy, on the other hand, is probably gonna become the person that I walk home with at the end of each school day because we live in the same direction and one of them forced him into it. Our awkwardness would be a major problem in communication, yet would be something that we would end up bonding over through the time that we spend walking together.

Somehow I managed to work myself into having the a large amount of interaction with Junjin and Andy without me realising it how do I managed to do these things??? Maybe I should start up a scenarios blog on Tumblr XD.
